Wisppaw had been asking a lot of cats to help him finish up his train and it seemed like a lot of them landed on Rookfire. Well he seemed like a trust worthy guy. At least in getting things done, enforcer and all. As well he saw how he beat the hell out of Owlthroat. Maybe he would be ok with teach him how to fight.

"Saw you in that enforcer fight. Teach me." He needed to know how Rookfire fought so well. Maybe one day he could try to be an enforcer himself. Hopefully.

rookfire had positioned a thick stick between his forepaws and spent the earliest hours of the morning testing the strength of his freshly chipped tooth. so far, it didnt seem to have collected any lingering damage from the challenge and may just come in handy as a irregularly shaped weapon. when wisppaw, this time without shadowpaw by his side, approached the enforcer, the discarded the stick in order to sit, effectively towering over the apprentice.

"just the basics?" rook replied simply, unsure how he was supposed to interpret the apprentices request. 'saw you in that enforcer fight. teach me' could mean either building on existing skills or getting to the basics first, so rookfire left things unspecified as he lead wisppaw into the territory.

Wispaw wanted to sigh and roll his eyes when he was asked a clarifying question. Honestly how could someone not know exactly what he meant with everything he said, and didn't. Though knowing a bit of social etiquette, he prevented himself from doing so. That seemed to make cats get angry at you and he didn't need that. Right. Answer. "Basics, and maybe something more advance. If I don't beat you." The apprentice said with no humor in his voice. He really just wanted to rile up the warrior to get them to teach him more. Slowly he swayed his tail thinking about one day being able to join an enforcer fight and kicking the bee-hinny of a decorated enforcer. It would maybe fill the spot he wanted to actually be, that being an aid. Imagine a medicine cat? Psh, yeah right. He knew better than to pointlessly wish on something that would never happen.

"check your ego, or its gonna get you killed" the enforcer replied flatly, a confident smile pulling at the edge of his maw. the basics it was. well enough, he led the apprentice into the territory, not too keen on disturbing the peace in the clearing with his lesson.

"forepaw slash. simple as it sounds, claws out, you strike your opponent. anywhere is fine but anything above the shoulders will generally bleed harder" rookfire began his explanation, pacing around the apprentice in a large circle.
"if you land a good hit on their legs you may cause them to stumble and be restricted in their movement later. a slash across their eyes or nose will obviously cause them issues with orientation, do with that as you will." he didnt think teaching apprentices more dirty moves was wrong. there were no rules in battle except there were so every apprentice should be aware of their options, especially when faced with a stronger opponent. he remembered riverclan generally disliking actions such as blinding or maiming, but he'd never heard anything but encouragement from dawnstar.

"forepaw strike. claws in for that one. you hit your opponent on the head as hard as you can. causes them to be disoriented briefly, so you can flee, get into a better position et cetera" the enforcer paused briefly, tapping wisppaws head with his paw. "you can theoretically hit from the side as well" and he went back to pacing.

"last before youre allowed to ask questions; if youre trapped underneath another cat ignore whatever morals you have, claws out, use your hind legs to go for their stomach. you'll gut them or they'll retreat, either way, youre out and saved from certain death. if thats impossible for whatever reason go for their neck, chest, forelegs, whatever you think can make them stumble or retreat."
