Spiderpaw had never really thought of Minnowrain as clumsy, so it was funny to imagine her father that way, even as an apprentice. How strange, she suddenly felt quite different from her mother. Would she have been different if Creekberry had also raised her? The young tabby couldn't imagine who she might have been were that the case. Maybe she wouldn't have been so skittish... though, that seemed like a far stretch.

Spiderpaw smiled a bit as she thought of the scenario. "What'd she say? And how'd you get so stuck in a tree?" She felt her mood starting to lighten. The events at Lionsbeach weren't gone, but they weren't the center of all of her attention anymore. It was a bit of a relief.

"Well, uh..." Minnowrain awkwardly answered "Chased a squirrel. Not very RiverClan of me, huh? Thought I could do it."
The memory seems so ridiculous now, looking back on it.

"Creekberry said something along the lines of 'You imbecile! Why are you climbing trees!?'" He mimicked her tone the best he could while also remaining quiet "And I few other things I think should stay un-repeated."

Spiderpaw giggled lightly, feeling the laughter relax her frayed nerves a bit more. The idea of her papa, or a smaller version of him at least, climbing up a tree after a squirrel seemed silly. She was definitely more interested in keep her paws on the ground. Maybe she would get a climbing lesson at some point... But, for now, she had no interest. It was interesting to think back on the tree she had climbed to leap onto Heroneye during her advanced fighting lesson. Perhaps she really should get a climbing lesson...

"How did you and mama come together after she called you all those names?" Spiderpaw asked curiously. She wasn't sure that she would want to be around anyone who shouted at her like that, even if it would be funny to reflect on in the future... Then again, that was what made her and Fallenspirit's... loose friendship so interesting.

Minnowrain, smiled.
"Well, despite such mean words, she has a bugger heart than it sounds like." He said "Eventually, she came up to me and said 'You're still dumb, but I guess I'm sorry'. Sounded like her mentor made her apologize. Turns out he didn't."

"After that, I found myself trying to hang out with her more often. Not sure why, but I did." Minnowrain continued "And eventually, we bonded."

Spiderpaw thought about it for a moment. So, mama never had to be told to apologize, either. She snuggled up a little closer to Minnowrain and looked out into the clearing. "That's nice." She said. She felt quite exhausted, now. She had cried her heart out, then giggled and felt better for the story. Her eyelids were growing heavy, despite her wish to learn more about her mama.

Sure, there were plenty of things to think about. How her mom and dad had managed to somehow come together was a funny one. It continued to bring more questions to her mind, but, for now, she only had one. "Can I take a nap with you, papa?" Spiderpaw asked, very aware that she had already interrupted his own nap.
