Smokefern found herself drifting off to sleep. She wasn't really the type to dream often, or at the very least not remember them. Important dreams was in the realm of medicine cats and leaders, not the run-of-the-mill warrior like her. Still, this one started off like a normal dream. Seemingly alone, the gray and white Shadowclan cat found herself breaking through a line of towering trees and into a lake filled clearing.
The water seemed crystal clear, revealing the sandy bottom of the lake. Wispy plants below the surface swayed in the unseen current, and as Smokefern padded up to the edge, she could swear she saw a tiny fish or two. Now, she couldn't swim; didn't even want to. Yet, she couldn't help but admire the calm of the clearing. Maybe later, she could explore, but for now? Smokefern settled down by the shore, allowing herself to enjoy the moment.

The calico molly steps into the clearing, seeing the lake. She smiles softly and goes into it, swimming gracefully. She was oblivious to the ShadowClan cat she was sharing a dream with.
Pale blue eyes blinked as another cat appeared. An unfamiliar one at that. Her brows furrowed in confusion as she watched her glide through the water. Smokefern had seen cats swim only a few times, and while there was a grace to the calico's movements, she couldn't help but find it odd. She brought herself back to her feet, and waited until the other cat swam close enough to call out in an even tone, "You seem to be enjoying yourself. Who might you be?"

Spottedclaw gasps when she hears the other voice. She nearly sinks in the water. she comes out and shakes herself dry. "My name is Spottedclaw. who are you?"

Smokefern's eyes tracked Spottedclaw as she stepped out of the water. Though her features remained rather passive, she was quietly thankful to be just out of range of getting hit by stray water droplets. So this was another warrior, though the name was as unfamiliar as the face. "Smokefern. You wouldn't be a Starclan cat, would you? I'd rather not find out I died in my sleep." The last sentence carried a hint of wryness to it.

"StarClan?" She seemed surprised by the question. "I'm from RiverClan, and I haven't died yet. If you are asking me that, than you can't be a StarClan cat..."

A living Riverclan cat? This was getting stranger by the minute. Though, it really did explain the swimming. "A Shadowclan and Riverclan cat somehow end up sharing a dream. This seems like the start to a joke." Smokefern couldn't help but let out a chuckle. "You wouldn't happen to know how this happened, would you?"

"I don't. But why don't we enjoy this sudden experience. Let's get to know each other."
"Well I already know you enjoy swimming." Smokefern quipped. She settled back down, wrapping her tail over her paws. If they ended up accidentally in a dream together, there were far worse things to do than to chat until they woke up. "What's it like? Moving around in water like that."
