Squirrelpaw
WindClan Apprentice ⯎ She/Her ⯎ 7+ moons "Is there really no one like me?"
Squirrelpaw gasped for breath, pushing herself faster and faster as she sprinted away from the lilac apprentice. Rookpaw was on her tail already! Tired...! She cried out, but kept running.

Rookpaw ♜ WindClan Apprentice | 7 moons
Tired? Already? But at the same time, admittedly, Rookpaw could fill her own energy draining and seeping away- leaving just her pride carrying her forward. One paw over the other. There's no stopping until one of them drops.
"Come on- tired?" Rookpaw called out in challenging but playful tone. She could hear herself breathing heavier the longer they ran, but it was exhilarating to push herself until the very end. Between short breaths, Rookpaw yelled after the brown apprentice "I ain't quitting till one of us drop. 'nd it- ain't gonna- be me!"
[D20 Roll = 6 - Fail!] Not fast enough to avoid. Thornbird did not react early enough.
It was only fair if Rookpaw returned eir somewhat rough blow, and ey just had enough time to clench eir jaw and brace emself for eir apprentice's attack.
The large warrior thought it was a bit silly for em, an older warrior, to take a mock-fight with an apprentice so seriously, but a part of em still believed it was a good idea and that it is going well.
Rookpaw ♜ WindClan Apprentice | 7 moons
Yes! Her mismatched eyes glinted as she latched onto her mentor, gripping on with whatever she had left. Rookpaw's breath came in short, heavy breaths as she gasped for air, demanding recovery time from running all over the place. Her paws started to ache, but the dusky lilac apprentice refused to give up. Give up? In your wildest dreams- there's no stopping this apprentice from pushing herself until she gave her final breath.

She managed to latch onto her mentor, but her movements were getting sluggish and, suddenly, Rookpaw had lost her grip. It surprised her. It really did. Rookpaw slipped off and landed onto the ground with a thud.
"Augh-" The dusky lilac apprentice hissed through her clenched teeth.
Squirrelpaw
WindClan Apprentice ⯎ She/Her ⯎ 8+ moons "Is there really no one like me?"
Squirrelpaw squealed, but it was distorted, as she was out of breath. Not gonna be me either! She chirped, her heart racing as she took a sharp turn to try and confuse Rookpaw.

With extended paws, Rookpaw reached out to tag Squirrelpaw as soon she got in close. Come on. Come on...

Right as Squirrelpaw took a sharp turn, the dusky lilac apprentice missed and overshot her route. Augh- She lashed her tail sharply before skidding into a sharp turn. Her face was flushed with utter embarrassment at her failure, but she quickly shook it off and tried her best to catch up again.

Thornbird. Ey/em - WindClan - Warrior.
Rookpaw is off em. None of the expected sharp claws as the apprentice did not succeed with the maneuver. [D20 Roll = 13 - Success!] Paws at the ready, claws still sheathed, Thornbird aimed a pounce over the smaller dusky-furred molly, eir intention to pin her down.
A common movement in battle, so escaping a lock is something that everyone has different techniques for, but it's important to have at the minimum one or two.
And ey was likely just about to figure if Rookpaw would find today the strategy to break free from a hold.
That, or she'll just dodge, if she's agile enough. Or maybe something ey doesn't really expect. All posibilities are open, the future not predictable to Thornbird's point of view.
