Vinesmoke nodded quickly, his tail flicking with more energy now as he processed Crowtooth’s ideas. He wasn’t quite as jittery as before—he appreciated the deputy’s guidance and the chance to tackle the task with a plan. "Yeah, mud’s definitely a solid idea," Vinesmoke agreed, more confident now. "It’ll help smooth things out once it dries. And smaller dens—yeah, that makes sense. Could use the dirt to build up some warmer spaces. It’ll make the place feel a bit more like home, too." He glanced at the collapsed tunnel and considered the next step. "I can work on that after we clear the main path, start mapping out where the dens could go." When Crowtooth mentioned the side passages, Vinesmoke paused, considering the options. "I think blocking them off completely might be a bit much," he said slowly. "What if we build a rock siding, or even just make it more obvious where the safe paths are? We could line the sides of the tunnels with rocks or something to keep it easier to navigate in a panic." His eyes met Crowtooth’s, hoping that idea would sit better. "That way, we don’t risk trapping anyone or making things worse."
Vinesmoke shook his head lightly, pushing his nervousness aside. "I mean, if you think blocking them completely’s the better option, I’ll follow your lead. Just didn’t want to close it off entirely." As they moved deeper into the tunnels, Vinesmoke’s movements became more fluid, his thoughts aligning with the task at hand. "Bones as supports, huh?" He gave a small, quiet laugh. "Yeah, I see what you mean—stronger than sticks, that’s for sure. It’ll take some work, but I think it could be done." He paused, glancing around the collapsed tunnel. "We’ll dig it out and get the bones, then figure out the best way to shore things up." His tone grew a bit more determined. "I think we can get a lot done today."
When Crowtooth offered his help, Vinesmoke’s tail gave a grateful flick. "I’ll take you up on that, definitely. It’ll go faster with more paws, especially for things like crack-filling and clearing out the skeletons." He hesitated a moment, then added, "And if you’ve got any ideas for making the whole place safer, I’m all ears."As he began to dig in, the earth soft under his paws, Vinesmoke glanced up at Crowtooth. "This feels like a good start, doesn’t it? We’ve got a solid plan."

Entschuldigung, bitte? Excuse me? Was Jaggedpaw really.....admiring Riverclan? That was kind of insane, if Deadmoon was being honest. Like....why was that a good thing? It was in no way a good thing! She was kind of (actually a lot) tempted to snap at him, and shove him over the border to join the fishes if he thought they were so cool. Because really? Murderous psychopaths were a good thing? That was Shadowclan behavior, not something a Windclanner should be saying! Deadmoon was aware that a lot of cats were more....force oriented than her, more interested in settling differences with claws than words. She understood the need for it, to a degree. But random violence? Perhaps he simply hadn't understood? That must be it. No son of Snowybreeze would be impressed by wanton, indiscriminate violence, surely.
I wouldn't go saying that in camp, kiddo. Deadmoon muttered, shooting him a sideways glance. Most cats don't take too kindly to good nice words about Riverclan. Shadowclan had been the boogeycats once, but after their moments of working together, the burying of the grudge by Twilightstar at least, Crowtooth and the other, more violent elements of the clan had been forced into silence. Deadmoon had less of a grudge, her selfish nature allowing her love for Rookscreech and Marigoldpaw to reduce her anger at the bloodshed, but she too would be irritated to hear any cat yapping about how nice Shadowclan was.
Ah, so it was that typical kit thing. 'I'll be the greatest warrior the forest has ever seen, every other clan will fear us, I'll be a great leader, etc, etc, etc.' Deadmoon had heard it all, many, many times. So perhaps this was usual enough. Perhaps Jaggedpaw wasn't completely insance. This was comforting, in a rather funny way. So, in a not-at-all (totally) patronizing way, she mewed I'm sure you will, kiddo. Once you're a warrior, and all that. The next question was a bit more interesting, and she took a moment to ponder it. Not exactly as the most powerful, but the most stable. Twilighstar's doing, that.
We're not known as the most powerful, Twilightstar tends to prefer to avoid violence when she can. We're the most stable, I think. Twilightstar is by far the oldest leader, I don't think there are many cats alive who remember her predecessor. Deadmoon certainly didn't, and if she had to guess she'd say that Twilightstar had already been leader for 10 or 20 moons when she was born. Stars above, how old WAS their leader? Because Twilightstar's the oldest, and the most resilient, the other clans don't tend to mess with us unnecessarily. Conflicts get shut down quickly enough most of the time, and when it needs to happen, Twilightstar is ruthless. Riverclan was case in point. They had been given chance after chance, but when it was no longer possible to let them keep going they were PUNISHED.
They had reached the falls now, icy and gleaming in the sun. This is Twilight Falls. Deadmoon mewed, a rather deadpan mention. Named after Twilightstar, of course. It's quite impressive in greenleaf, lots of water and noise and whatnot. You can swim in the pool below it if you're careful and know how to swim, but I'm not a fan personally. There's generally good moss to be found, and there're all kind of rumors about things behind the falls. I've no idea if they're true though. A cave, a tunnel, nothing, twoleg lights, shiny rocks, the stories were endless. She was never going to be brave enough to find out, and so it would remain a mystery to her at least. @burntToast

The old lady didn't seem to like what he said about riverclan, he supposed in hindsight it was very smart on his behalf too. Riverclan was an enemy clan that threatened his clan, not so cool. However they clearly displayed some kind of show of power! Right? Why else would it take so many cats to drive them out or to be wary of being near their border. Either way he shrugged at her words about them accepting them. Deadmoon went on to explain how Twighlightstar was probably the most respected leader being the oldest and most wise. That meant he wouldn't have to try as hard to show how much better Windclan was because it was already apparent. Oh well, that wasn't going to stop him and his goals.
The came to stop at a giant frozen puddle, lake? Pond? He wouldn't know, he'd never seen either but the ice covering it making it look as solid as the ground beneath his paws were interested. His pale eyes scanned the ice before finally settled on the spikes of ice that looked like a collection of water falling from the cliff and froze. Frozen falling water. Or as Deadmoon call it, the falls. "What do you thinks behind it?" he asked turning to give his mentor a curious look. He would think she at least had a good guess, being as old as she is he would have thought she'd been behind there herself. He wonder if either his mom or dad had been behind there themselves. Wait that brings another thought.
"You said you were my dad's mentor before right? Did you bring Snowybreeze out here when he was an apprentice too? Ah what was he like as an apprentice" the speckled tome hadn't been too interested in his father's apprenticeship before, he just assumed his dad had always been awesome but he supposed there wasn't any harm in learning a bit about how Snowybreeze had been when he was Jaggedpaws age.

WHITERABBIT . 24 MOONS . SHE/HER . WINDCLAN
Sooo...Dewfrost probably won't mind if Whiterabbit pushes on ahead, right? The li'l secret there is that Whiterabbit really doesn't care, but she makes a token show of heaving this great big welllll, what can you do! sigh and ushering Cardinalpaw out of camp the moment she realizes just how much daylight they've lost waiting on their third cat.
"Alright, so, you saw the blossom Lightningstorm set out, right? Grab anything that looks like that. Even if it's not the herb, it's probably an herb." She chirps over the rush of the falls. "And if you come across anything weird, leave it be." Cardinalpaw likely doesn't need the reminder; everyone knows life in Windclan has been a strange thing, lately, with all the twoleg fuss. They get the reminder anyhow.

Cardinalpaw frowned at the lack of the patrol leader. Talk about responsible, eh? The apprentice shrugged and followed his mentor out of the camp.
Cardinalpaw turned to look at his mentor as she spoke. Grab herb thingys, don't be stupid. That's what he got. Cardinalpaw nodded, his dual-colored eyes immediately scanning for the herb. Yellow, right? Yeah. The apprentice set ahead the older she-cat, still staying in-view of his mentor. They were not trying to like..dunno. Something. Cardinalpaw spotted a small clutch of a yellow flower, and it looked like what Lightningstorm described. They ducked into the bush where they saw the flowers, grasping the stems between his jaws and plucking. Cardinalpaw backed out of the bush, showing it to his mentor with a grin.

WHITERABBIT . 24 MOONS . SHE/HER . WINDCLAN
Whiterabbit mindlessly hums a low drone in tune with the rush of the falls as she picks her way along, pushing through limp brown grass in search of anything yellow. She'd take dandelions at this point—why not?
Luckily enough, though it almost looks the part, the her she finally stumbles upon is, in fact, hawkweed—meager and unimpressive, as they'd been warned might be the case. Short tail curling up in satisfaction (she's just happy to find something yellow, but it does look remarkably close to the example they'd been able to peek at over Dewfrost's shoulder), Whiterabbit nips a humble harvest and turns back.
"Cardinalpaw!" A short slim of their surroundings and—oh, awesome, they've gotten some, too, and doesn't he just look so proud! She snorts a laugh and then nods, curt and appreciative. Next is a gesture back toward camp before she's taking off again. They'll be just beating sundown, at this rate.
"Hunting. What?" She'd gotten this far. Had approached a warrior, said one word, stared expectantly at him until he obliged and took her outside... and here they were. Outside. He probably was not familiar enough with her to understand what she was talking about, so Strawberrypaw forces more words past her lips. "I smell..." Her sharp senses picked up on something, but she couldn't tell. Hadn't been out hunting enough to be able to. "What is it?"

Rabbit. A rabbit. She could do that, she could. Hunt.
[ Don't Mind If I Do! Active -> Stolen Purrk; Brightfire's Ultimate Predator ]
Delight laces through her veins as Brightfire says downwind. Downwind. Crowtooth had taught her about this. She could hear his voice now, droning on at the back of her mind about what to do. Always telling her what to do. But for this specific instance... she was okay with it. She could listen to Crowtooth's voice in her head and...
Strawberrypaw was already creeping through the grass, her paws guiding her, chasing an instinct she could not deny. A rare smile tilts her maw, but this grin is more feral than anything, full with predatory satisfaction as her kill valiantly makes a run for it... only too late.
Sharp fangs close around the rabbit's throat, her senses seeming to heighten even more as blood spurts from the wound. At least her prey hadn't suffered long, but now Strawberrypaw was finding it difficult to let go. She only stood over her fresh kill, fangs sunk into its neck, reveling in the red coating her maw and dripping down her chin.

..••°°°°••.. Brightfire watched the she-cat and was very surprised on how quickly she caught it. "great job with that one" he meowed, padding at to the she-cats side "let the rabbit go though, cant have you eating it now" he murmured, a little freaked out but honestly he couldn't blame the apprentice, he hadn't eaten before he left.
