Midnightpaw's eyes widened as he looked up. ``I- Uhm, woah.`` He was genuinely stunned, flattered, but stunned. He stared for a moment, speechless. His thoughts were running wild. He wasn't ready for a crush... especially not after Sunpaw went.. missing.. Plus, even if Midnightpaw was ready, did he even like toms? No, probably not.

``That's.. That's sweet, Foxpaw, really. But I don't feel the same...`` He replied, voice trailing off. Wow, this was awkward now, wasn't it? I mean, the tuxedo tom didn't mind that his friend had taken a liking to him, it just, wasn't in the young apprentices cards to like Foxpaw back.

Foxpaw felt his heart sink, but he was fine with that. it could've gone worse than that, he was fine with just being Midnightpaw's friend. Although he was heartbroken for now, Foxpaw and Midnightpaw will be good friends. "That's okay, Midnightpaw. We could just be friends." he said with a slight tone of upset but he really did mean it.

Midnightpaw's brown gaze softened. ``I'm really sorry. But if would be nice to continue our friendship! `` He meowed with a gentle smile. The tuxedo wasn't sure what else he could say to help, but he hoped that his friend could understand.
