Ferncurl had been sleeping in her nest when the contractions started. Small. Barely noticable. The queen ignored them.
Then they were strong and nerve wracking and terrifying. This time, Fern sat up, wincing, and grit her teeth, body shuddering. The golden she-cat wriggled around, trying to get into a comfortable position, swollen belly not helping at all, what with all the kits moving around. She tried to swallow down the pain, but hissed as she accidentally bit her tongue. Finally, she gave in and yowled, "BRIGHTFIRE! GET YOUR ASS IN HERE!" Before falling silent as a moan slipped past her maw.

"Leopardsong? Does it always hurt this much?" Oh, great question Ferncurl. OF COURSE IT DOES. DON'T BE A WEAKLING. The golden queen shifted again, as the contractions got even stronger. Oh stars. The kits were coming. Ferncurl hoped that Dreamheart and Crowbones would show up too, but it would be a tad bit crowded with everyone there... Oh well. The bright queen started pushing, knowing that the kits were coming, and knowing she just had to deal with the pain like a warrior. Fern coloured green eyes flicked around, seeking Leopardsong for reassurance that she was doing alright.

(Ferncurl will be a bit tired after this lol)

CricketKit cried out in defiance when the cold hit him. Why had he been evicted from the voud of warmth? Eyes closed and damp grey and white limbs flailing as he searched for the warmth again, CricketKit let out pitiful mewls until her was nudged over to his mothers belly. The kit started purring, comforted soft milky sent that surrounded him.

Pantherkit felt the shock of cold hit her body, making her writhe in discomfort before touching mother's body. She squirmed and climbed up her mothers stomach, finding somewhere to latch on and suckle.

First? Last? Somewhere in the middle? The golden tom didn't even know what he was even asking as he felt suddenly in an open space. The air was a cool shock, sending the small newborn scrambling to return to a sense of warmth as he breathed for the first time and cried out.

Warmth wasn't difficult to find. He might've even been scooted closer. He didn't know. All he knew was the instinct pushing him to seek out the source of a certain sweet scent. He was hungry.

Midgekit whined softly, the cold wind blowing past his thin fur. Shut eyes closed closer as he shivered from the wind, wriggling past the rest of his siblings. He knew not where he was, nor what had brought him here, but he still pushed on further. Tiny claws crawled closer, and soon he was met against the great wall that was his mother's flank. He lifted his head, his muzzle hitting the light and his nose twitching as he pressed his face against the sweet scent of his mother.
