New-leaf breeze brought a slight crisp air to ThunderClan, filling Maplehaze with some sort of hope that perhaps- today was the day. The day for what you might ask, but honestly, Haze didn't know. He just knew it was a good day to anything he'd wanted. And lately, a certain cat had caught his eye. Not for any reason, he could think of. But just as the last illness had passed through ThunderClan and with all the cats running in and out of the medicine cat den, Haze had thought about the medicine cat a little more than he'd like to admit.

Was he resting well enough? Did he eat something during his break? Did he even give himself a break? Subtle questions filled Maplehaze's mind with slight worry, and the russet bengal tom decided he'll act on that worry and see it through. He'd grabbed a juicy vole from the fresh kill pile and padded on his way to see Wolfhawk.

"Hey there, Haze here~ didn't miss me, did ya?" Maplehaze brightly announced his presence before dropping the vole gently by the dark brown tom's side. As much as Haze has been trying to befriend this tom due to his own worries for the other tom's health, he wasn't sure if Wolfhawk, being that busy of a cat, even knew his name. But it didn't matter all that much to him, Haze had all of the time in the world to befriend his clanmate. Or as much time as Wolfhawk would allocate for this russet bengal. "Didn't know what you'd like, so I picked the best one from the pile. Though, let me know what you like. I'll hunt it for you~"

Wolf is not out as demi yet !!

Wolfhawk had forced him out of the medicine den, his eyes struggling to stay open. Hopefully the sun would help with that. The tripod was no stranger to exhaustion since becoming a medicine cat, mainly due to his distaste for the den he inhabited. So as normal, wolfhawk laid down instead of sitting, trying to busy his mind.

He was on the verge on falling asleep until a very abrupt voice interrupted. One of the few times he was okay with a cat waking him up. Green hues looked up to spot...whats his name again? he didn't really care. "whoyou?" Wolf muttered. Oh. Food. Okay. Wolfhawk gladly took the offering and bit into the vole, looking up at the warrior as he spoke.

"..." he looked down at his paws, which were a darker color than the majority of his pelt. "Bird," he stated plainly, flicking an ear. "Whaddya need?" he asked, out of habit. He was so used to asking that when cats entered the medicine cat den. So it just became the medics default greeting.

Maplehaze

The russet bengal watched as the tom awoke from his sleep. His sleep? So he was resting, but hey! Did he really not know him? Haze had just thought that it would be the worst case example, but the medicine cat really sounded like he didn't have a clue. So the russet bengal sat down, on the opposite side, to gaze straight at Wolfhawk's green hues, watching him groggily accept the piece of prey Haze has just brought. That alone created a small smile on Haze's face. He was right- today was a pretty good day for anything.

"You're just saying that so you can get a longer look at my face, aren't ya?" Maplehaze replied with a soft, playful grin and flaunted his head in a exaggerated motion, pausing to let the other tom stare at him. "Take it aaallllll in~"

"Wait, wait, wait! Don't turn away!" Haze exclaimed right after. Maplehaze may be pushing it a little, but he still wanted this moment to last. "Name's Maplehaze, your local warrior ready on duty. Haze for short though~"

"Bird? Of course~ that'll be my next mission." Haze made sure to note that down mentally as he leaned in close to listen to Wolfhawk. "Me? Oh, I can just choose anything? Well..."

"I need you- to accompany me on a short walk down to the brook." he announced, but it had a hint of uncertainty. A sense of questioning whether Wolfhawk was willing to accompany and play along with Haze. But in a more confident voice, Haze had continued with his usual colourful tone after swishing his tail back and forth in anticipation. "Take a break and get some fresh air. The weather's beautiful today~ there's a quiet spot by the brook, perfect to get away from our noisy clan. What'd you say?"

...huh? Wolfhawk furrowed his brows as Maplehaze continued speaking - what was he on about? So this cat was a weirdo. Noted. The brown tripod didn't have time to get words in as they continued speaking. Less talking for him, so he wasn't complaining.

And then his greeting was misinterpreted. That's always fun. "Me? Oh, I can just choose anything? Well..." Great. Just great. The medic never liked being ordered to do something unless it was a higher ranking, Such as Spiderthroat and Bumblestar. Even Hollows at times (and muddy of course). Even as a bratty kit, he had always been the one bossing his siblings, not the other way round. Stars it hurt at times, where had they gone?

"I need you- to accompany me on a short walk...."

A walk? Out of all things he chose a walk. Of course. Wolfhawk glanced back at his den, sighing before rising to his three paws. Fresh air would be nice. He could use a break after all. "Fine. But if anything happens while we're gone, m blamin you," they spoke, flicking an ear. "Go ahead n lead the way." Maybe this could be good for him. Who knew.

Maplehaze

"Deal!" Maplehaze nodded with a small grin, glancing at Wolfhawk as he took his time to stand up. The russet bengal tom arched into a stretch, as if he'd been sitting for ages, before flexing his paws a few times. His icy blue eye turned over to the brown tom and he tilted his head as if indicating; 'Let's go-'

"Nothing's gonna happen whilst we're gone, promise. Other than a lil walk and back~ we'll be in camp before you know it. Unless you want to spare me more of your time." Haze chuckled and spoke in a playful manner, though he knows he shouldn't. Wolf's role in their clan was more important than some walk in the woods.

Maplehaze took up Wolfhawk's left side on their walk. Maybe unconsciously covering for Wolfhawk's weaker side or it was just a cowering habit he has to avoid showing his scarred eye. But it didn't really matter because it was left unsaid as the two made their way into the woods. Dappled light cascaded through the canopy of the forest, littering their world with patches of lights that made the grass glow. It was peaceful, quiet, with the occasional melody of birds and the chattering of rodents in the undergrowth. Haze marveled in the ethereal world ThunderClan has lived in- trees, plants, critters- all harmonically residing for moons and moons. They all changed with the weather, yet they held strong throughout any hardship that may befall them.

Haze snuck a small glance at Wolfhawk. Just a quick glance. He didn't want to break the silence between them but he was still curious to know how his clanmate was feeling. Was he alright with going on a walk? Was he tired? More so, Haze was curious if the tom would be willing to strike up a conversation. Or was that thought just pushing it?
