It was late afternoon when she'd arrive back at camp with a couple of fresh fish in her jaw. And exactly like she'd told Duskclaw, the silver warrior gracefully padded straight towards the nursery. Floodsight knocked softly on the den wall before turning back to Duskclaw. "You coming in, Duskclaw?"
"Kits, queens. Anyone want a snack?" Floodsight warmly offered whilst chuckling at the kit rummaging around the nursery. The queens must've been quite busy lately with all these furballs running around like squirrels. The silver warrior had been meaning to check up and help out, but the timing was never right until now. She'd dropped the fish in a pile by her paws for anyone to pick up. "Feel free to grab some fish~ fresh from the river, I'd tell you. Let me know if you guys need anything. You, too, little one~ anything you need, anything you want."

Duskclaw of RiverClan
33 moons
Duskclaw wasn't far behind with his catch. He didn't bother responding to Floodsight, instead giving a small nod and squeezing himself through the nursery entrance to sit next to Floodsight. His size forced him to slouch down quite a lot to keep his head from touching the ceiling. Duskclaw put down his fish onto Floodsight's pile.
"Unless it's suicidal." His add-on to Floodsight's offer to the queens was obviously a joke, but his tone made it sound very much serious. He's gunna have to work on that...

~---~
Mintkit pricked her ears. Fish? Like actual real prey fish? Not just a rock or mossball or bug she pretended was fish? She'd glimpsed fish on the fresh-kill pile before, but she'd never actually tried any, yet. She wondered what it tastes like. It must be delicious, right? Mintkit was feeling a bit peckish. Maybe she could eat some of this fish. Fishes fresh from the river? Does that mean fish live in rivers? They probably do, 'cause those lil thingies poking out didn't look much good for walking. Swimming?
She perked up. Like what she did earlier, with Miss Floody? It made sense, those thingies could paddle the water like her paws did. She wondered what the thingies were actually called. She didn't want to keep calling them thingies. Didn't everything deserve to have a name? She pondered this thought for a moment, before concluding she didn't know and she would have to ask Astymom when she got the chance. But, but, also! Miss Floody was the one to bring the fishes! That made her feel slightly better about asking questions, because Miss Floody was nice.
Mintkit shyly padded up, blinking owlishly at the warrior with pale green eyes. "Hi again," she greeted meekly. "C-Can I try some?"And because she just couldn't stop herself, she blurted out, "Do fishes r-really live in rivers 'n swim with the thingies poking out, and what are th-the thingies called?" Mintkit glanced curiously at the bigcat who had came up behind Miss Floody, wondering what he had meant. "An' what's suicidal mean?" she added.

"Why not?"
The open ended question drifted from a nest towards the back of the den, where a thick-furred, calico kit—though only for a moon longer—sat, having been watching the others kit's tussel and sumble around the ground. It could have been a, "Well, why not go get some food?", or a response to a conversation she was having with herself, it was never really quite sure with the molly, but she knew exactly what she was asking. Why couldn't they ask for anything suicidal? What was the matter if a cat decided they no longer wanted to exist in this world? Why was everyone to hung up on everyone else's survival? It seemed tiring if anyone asked her, she was sure no one considered the whims of the fish they ate when they were brutally pulled from their home, only to slowly rot away in the fresh kill pile until someone deemed their corpses appealing enough to consume...
Dappledkit sat there, pondering the question for what felt like minutes, before a soft grumble from her belly pulled her away, the scent of the prey sitting by the warrior's feet enticing enough to save her incessant questioning for another moment. Finally rising, she padded over without so much as a thankful glance up to the warriors, outside of a skeptical look at the darker colored warrior regarding his statement, pawing a smaller fish closer to her before curling up, vaguely listening in on the rambling of her denmate. Did she ever shut up?

" I got a brand new attitude and I'm gonna wear it tonight, I wanna get in trouble, I wanna start a fight. "
SO WHAT - P!NK
Look, she’d gotten up from her nest with a smile aimed at the two lovely warriors who’d brought the nursery food. ‘Cept, when she actually got there to take a fish for her and her sons… Duskclaw’s blunt words had her shooting the tom an utterly baffled look. Worse, still, that little Mintkit was repeating the words. And Dappledkit hadn’t even thanked Floodsight (or Duskclaw) — good heavens, who was skimping on teaching their kits manners around here?

"pwaytoy. dwrop" he commanded mr. bigcat. well. big compared to him. "gib meee toy. l-lest i te-ll mama and papa!" words were hard, man. especially for a nine day old kitten.
Ahh gosh yes - how could he forget?! The usual onslaught of kittens. They were always much louder than he expected. at least they weren't angry this time, just absolutely full of questions."Yes - well erm, no." Stars, fighting rocks would hurt. "Yes, it grows on rocks but there's no fighting involved! You just have to carefully peel it away. But it's not just rocks! It can grow on trees and bark. Things that stay very very still." Would they - err, what? Would they get moss? "Nono don't worry. Moss won't grow on you. Not unless you stay perfectly still for one-billion-trillion moons!" He giggled.
And now... A toy? They quickly dug through the moss, trying to shove a little moss ball together. It wans't perfect but it was... It was something. He didn't think Havenkit would be able to tell. "There you go." They placed it down with a smile - maybe this wans't so hard! "And of course, the biggest one for you, Floodkit!" It wasn't actually the biggest bit of moss in the pile - if he handed that over, he could only imagine the queens would be having words with him, for letting the kits make such a mess with a giant bit of moss. Still, it was a little bigger than the one he'd given to Havenkit. Reasonable considering how absolutely tiny the latter still was.
Floodsight ✦ RiverClan Warrior | 29 moons | Mind Reader ; Killer Aptitude T3 ; empty slot
Floodsight nodded along with what Duskclaw had said, all the way until suicidal had left his lips. That's when she froze in place before shooting him a brief look of distain, trying to hint to him how there were kits around. Stars forbid they actually heard him say it. Some things should've been left unsaid, especially in the nursery. Floodsight did her best to clear up her expression before turning to Mintkit, who had curiously wandered up to them.
The silver warrior settled down a little lower to engage in small chitchat with the little one. Her eyes immediately warmed up upon seeing the kits make there way over. "Why hello there, Mintkit. Of course, pick whichever you want~"
"Uh huh," Floodsight replied softly whilst nodding, "They do live in the rivers around our clan's territory. And yes, the fish got fins. It helps them move forward like us with our paws."
And the question she'd been scared for had popped up. 'An' what's suicidal mean?' had made the silver warrior's heart jumped a little. And then came another kit, small dappled furred kitten padded over questioning them, 'why not,' before quietly grabbing a fish.
"He means dangerous. Can't bring anything dangerous~ so it means that you little one can't request us to bring in a fox or things like that." Floodsight settled on a softer answer whilst shaking her head, trying to diverge the conversation elsewhere. "But if you guys want feather, shells or moss balls, we'd be more than happy to find some for you. In fact, now that the Lionsbeach is warmer, there are a lot of pretty shells on the shore. Any preferences?"
The silver warrior glanced back at Duskclaw with a look that said, 'come on, back me up.'

Re: RiverClan Nursery
Duskclaw of RiverClan
34 moons
Duskclaw read the room and shifted on his paws a bit. His sense of humor was clearly not welcome here. "Yeah, dangerous. We have better ways to spend our time than in the medicine cat den...like finding shells!" He put on an obviously fake smile just for the kits and wrapped his tail around Floodsight. The smile was very much fake but the tail wrap felt more natural and caring.
Dappledkit's response was a weird one, though. He eyed the dappled kit a bit. Such a question in response to what was the most basic of dark humor, how odd. Duskclaw pushed a fish to Dappledkit. "You should go outside more."
