"That'd be a good idea. Send out a bunch of patrols and collect what we can. At least we know for next leaf-bare," they said before falling to another fit of coughing. His eyes widened slightly at the medic's words before leaving. "I won't, Promise!" he called out to hollows as they left. He was glad the younger cat was growing on him. He suppressed another coughing fit and dragged themselves back to their nest. Stars, he was exhausted. One of the reasons he hated being sick (this was his first time, was this how the plague cats felt?? He had immense respect for them going through that now. they could barely do anything and it was Whitecough!)

The medicine cat nodded to the hornet as they left the den before rediverting their attention to lavendersong. Wolfhawk watched as hollows applied the goldenrod and cobweb. Albiet it was...messy. But it was good enough to be effective. "That's good," he told hollows, nodding their head. "The best we can do now is let her rest n see what she needs when she wakes up." They hoped that lavendersong would heal up quickly.

The tripod medic hobbled on over to briarmask and his apprentice, sitting down (as much as he hated it) and gently put a paw on the queen's stomach. He nodded. "Those are kits. Congrats. Might wanna let bumble know and move into the nursery soon," they told the queen, standing back up and failing. This was why he hated sitting. Wolfhawk quickly scrambled back to his paws, pelt hot with embarrassment. "If ya need anythin, let hollows or me know," they said, shuffling their paws. He looked over to the younger medic, a smile on their face and a look in their eyes that said "good job."

The large tom turned his head to face the entryway as an apprentice limped into his den. Wolfhawk got up from his nest and hobbled over to meet them, inspecting their paw. Ah. A thorn. For some reason that seemed to be one of the most common injuries these days. "Give me one moment," he told her, making his way to the herb store. It was very bare... oh well. He would have appreciated some burdock at the moment, but sadly there was none.

The medicine cat hobbled back over to the apprentice, empty pawed. "Give me your paw - This might sting a bit," he warned her. If she were to do as told, the brown cat would grab the thorn between his teeth, pulling it out quickly. He backed up and spat the thorn aside. "Clean off yer paw and should be good to go. Try not ta get it dirty. N remember, if it feels off or gets worse, come straight to me or hollows, ya hear?" They instructed. Thankfully, no cat that had this scenario had to come back. And Wolfhawk hoped that it would stay that way.

Violetfreckle was befuddled, to say the least. She didn't usually take trips to the medicine cat's den. Not that the medics themselves were bad, though they were young (but also, wasn't everyone else young these days? Oh, no, Vi didn't want to think about the implications of that thought...). She mostly had no need. And ever since she'd stayed there for a couple moons under the care of Drizzlecloud and Springlight, she hadn't quite cared for it. It was pungent, stuffy, and kind of sad, if she was being honest. She couldn't imagine choosing to stay full-time.

Erm, anyway. She found herself headed toward the den and wrinkling her nose at the odor. Things were beginning to grow back and she could tell by the smell of fresh herbs. Objectively, a good thing, but Vi's nose was not a fan. She looked around for whichever medicine cat she could find first and plopped down in front of them.

"I've got a weird dilemma." She was blunt and quick to get to the point. "I haven't been sleepin' the past... half-moonish? At all. I'm not tired, I can't get to sleep no matter how long I shut my eyes for. I've tried and tried and even sat there from dusk til dawn in our– Bumblestar's nest. Nothin'." Her tail flicked back and forth. She wasn't irate by any means, purely confused and baffled. She wanted to know what was up, and also had a question once the cat she was talking to got an initial response to her.

"Do you have any spare poppy seeds?" She asked, feeling her ears flatten. "I know it's early Newleaf, so if you don't that's fine. I could probably go grab some if I can find 'em." She'd had good luck finding things in the past few moons, and hoped it wouldn't wear off. It was nice.

Oh, maybe she should tell the medicine cats about her yelling in the clearing that one night.

Well, on second thought, no. Not unless they pressed. That was definitely not her proudest moment.

Violetfreckle? That was her name, right? Wolfhawk watched as the she-cat whom he has yet to interact with entered his den and got straight to the point. That was always nice instead of dragging a conversation on and on. "hm...I don't think i've ever had a cat who cannot sleep. But m also pretty young so anythin's possible," the tripod shrugged. He heaved himself to his paws, noticeably larger than most of the clans warriors. He hobbled over to the herb storage, muttering something under his breath.

"No poppy seeds m afraid. Hollows!" they called out for the medicine cat apprentice, green eyes searching for them. "Violetfreckle here can't sleep. Seein as we don't have any poppy seeds, I was gonna go out to the territory with her n get some. You're taggin along," the brown cat would say if his apprentice decided to show.

Well, Wolfhawk's words weren't exactly comforting. But he seemed nonchalant enough about it that it didn't seem like she was going to die or anything. At the young cat's shrug, she offered a shrug in return. "I dunno either. I don't exactly track the sleeping habits of the entire forest." The brown tom called out for his apprentice, whooo... was not there. Maybe he was out or something. After a couple slightly awkward moments of waiting for nothing, Violetfreckle stood up, stretched, and looked at Wolfhawk expectantly. "Looks like we're goin' without him."

And without another word, she headed out of the den and toward the camp entrance. Sure, maybe she should've asked the medicine cat before just up and leaving, but he was also seasons younger than her. It felt like a blow to her pride to ask someone who basically still had his kit fluff to go out into the territory. So, she'd just head out and look over her shoulder once they were out of camp. If he followed, he followed. If he didn't, Vi would find the seeds on her own.

Gorsekit sliced into the medicine cats den. His nose was stinging so badly! Hopefully, it had stopped bleeding, but of corse, he couldn't see his nose. He sniffled, trying not to cry. That bramble bush had really not been a good idea to hide in! Um... h--hello? He called out.

Nettlepaw calmly padded into the medicine cats’ den, trying to avoid staring at the other cats inside.
“I’m sorry.. it’s taken a.. while, but I’m.. here for a.. short checkup. On the.. sprained ankle. I think.. it’s fine now, but you.. told me to come.. back later.” they mewed softly.

Another kit in his den? Oh, but it looked like this one was injured. "Hey bud," the large medic said, hobbling over to the younger cat. The three-legged cat examined the small cut on the kit's nose. "What did ya do?" the brown cat inquired, making his way to the herb storage. Ah. It seems like he didn't have the ideal herbs, but he'd gotten used to that at this point. The medicine cat grabbed some cobwebs and went on back to the kit. It wasn't a major injury like one that needed marigold such as some other cuts, but the cobwebs would help with the bit of bleeding.

Sit still for me real quick," they spoke, laying down and taking a cobweb and pressing it gently on the injury. Once the little bit of blood had stopped, he removed the cobweb and tossed it to the side, he would get rid of that. "Should be good now," Wolfhawk told them, rising to his paws. "Don't go hurtin yerself often now, ya hear? Now go n run along will ya," he purred kindly.
