Starlingpaw padded up, the overworking tabby tom was large- okay more like massive- for his age. Brown fur and golden, cynical eyes staring at these two as they argued. It was well- slightly entertaining to say the least.
Songpaw watched from a distance as the tension continued to build. Jaggedpaw…she wasn’t familiar with him, she didn’t interact with him much, but she knew that he gave off a very negative vibe… And it made her uncomfortable. Songpaw had a strong sisterly instinct, but she preferred to avoid conflict if at all possible. She didn’t know Cardinalpaw that much either, but Starlingpaw she did know. And not only did he look worse for wear (again), but she didn’t want him getting involved in this.
The pale yellow she-cat rose to her paws, moving carefully as though trying to avoid detection from a predator, until she reached Starlingpaw. She touched her nose to his shoulder, refusing to get much closer to the two bickering apprentices than this. “W-We should stay back…” She murmured, blinking up at Starlingpaw with a somewhat pleading expression. But that changed rather quickly when the bickering rose to snarls. Songpaw let out a squeak of terror when Jaggedpaw lunged at their denmate, her fur bristling in shock and horror equally. “Wh-What are you doing?!” She cried out, gaze fixed on Jaggedpaw and poor Cardinalpaw.
She took a fearful, tentative step forward, fully prepared to leap forward in defense of her denmate if necessary. Despite her whiskers trembling with fear, and her apparent lack of strength, she’d do what was necessary for a clanmate. In this case, Cardinalpaw. But also…she found herself pressing slightly against Starlingpaw defensively, subconsciously aware that who she really wanted to protect here was him. But she nearly felt dizzy with relief with Twilightstar showed up. Still, legs trembling slightly, she didn’t move. Until Starlingpaw backed off, she’d make sure he had back-up.

Starlingpaw looked softly at Song as she padded up, his eyes widened as Jaggedpaw lunged, and and flare of rage shot through him. Starling was quick to act, the ton sprinted over, tackling Jaggedpaw, slamming him down, a snarl forming, claws unsheathed.

Pacing around her nest until it was practically flattened, Bravekit let out a small mrrow of frustration. Ugh, she should be an apprentice by now- like her siblings. The only attention she was going to get from Twilightstar at this rate was negative...not that it mattered to Bravekit, really. Bad publicity is still publicity. However, it wouldn't necessarily hurt for it to be good.
Ah, whatever. It was no use moping around here- nope! She's going to go bug her siblings, whether they liked it or not. They were family, after all!
Exiting the nursery and bounding over to the apprentices den, the she-cat whisked herself inside, not caring if she trod on any tails or not. "Coldpaw! Raccoonpaw!" She whined, plopping dramatically on the ground. "Teach me what you've learned so far! It's so boring being stuck in the nursery."
Berrystorm's tail bushed as Starlingpaw attacked Jaggedpaw, and then Songpaw tried to cut in. Sharing a glance with Twilightstar, the dilute tortoiseshell lifted her head to the sky and let out a sharp hiss. ''That's ENOUGH! Songpaw, get back. For your safety. Starlingpaw, get off of Jaggedpaw! Twilightstar is here, so let her handle it. It's not your place!''
Berrystorm nudged Cardinalpaw to his paws and attempted to have him step behind her, mewing, ''Go and see Lightningstorm,'' before her green eyes turned back to the two apprentices. The dilute tortoiseshell flattened her ears.
Lightningpaw would think about what he should say. If he were honest Lightningpaw didn't know Wildfire all that well at all. And what he did know he never could like. Lightningpaw felt a nagging suspicion that Wildfire was very unpredictable and to be honest that's why Lightningpaw couldn't ever come to like the cat. "I just I know you and Wildfire were close. And I wanted to check on you ya know? I honestly couldn't imagine the pain your going through nor can I understand the turmoil you might feel. But if you'd like to talk I'm here. After all we're friends right? That's what friends are for." Lightningpaw would explain. Lightningpaw had someone akin to what Vinesmoke had with Wildfire but he didn't want to admit that yet not to his friend while he was dealing with the pain he was.

Vinesmoke's blue eyes were clouded with emotion, his usual guarded expression slipping as he spoke. His paws were restless, shifting against the ground as if he couldn’t quite get comfortable in his own skin. His voice was quiet, but heavy with grief. “I miss him,” he said, his voice cracking slightly. “I... I didn’t think I’d miss him this much. It’s just—everything feels different now. Like something’s missing. I keep expecting him to show up, all cocky and loud, like nothing ever happened.” His tail flicked nervously, the tip twitching erratically. “But it’s not just that. I don’t know how to explain it… I guess, I didn’t realize how much of him was just... more than that.” He paused, looking away, almost ashamed of how much he was opening up. His voice dropped even lower as he continued, struggling to find the right words. “Everyone always saw Wildfire as this arrogant, unpredictable cat. And yeah, he was... that’s true, I won’t deny it.” Vinesmoke’s blue eyes flickered with a faint sadness. “But he wasn’t just that. I don’t know if anyone really saw what he was like underneath all of it. There were times when he’d drop all that bravado, and... I saw it. He wasn’t always the tough cat he wanted everyone to think he was. He cared. He really did—but he didn’t know how to show it, not without pushing people away.”
He let out a shaky breath, his chest tightening. “It’s just... he always kept everyone at arm’s length, even me. And I never thought it would matter until now. Now that he’s gone, it feels like there was so much more to him that I didn’t get to see. I didn’t get to help him the way I should’ve. And I miss that—him. I miss the version of him that only I saw... and I don’t think I ever told him how much I appreciated that.” Vinesmoke shifted uncomfortably, his eyes filled with guilt and longing. "Wildfire wasn’t just some arrogant jerk. He was complicated. And I think… I think I understand that now."
Raccoonpaw looked up as Bravekit bounded into the den, her tail flicking in quiet amusement. She’d been carefully inspecting the remains of a small bird she'd found earlier, clearly fascinated by the way its feathers had begun to decay, but she wasn’t going to make a big deal of it. Not yet. "Stuck in the nursery, huh?" she said, her voice calm but with a hint of understanding. "Yeah, I get it. It’s not as exciting as being an apprentice." She padded over to her sister, glancing at the bones she’d been studying. “I could show you some things. Like how to tell what’s happened to a dead creature just by looking at its body. It’s kind of... interesting. You can figure out a lot about an animal’s life from the way it looks once it’s gone. There’s a lot to learn from them, really.” Raccoonpaw’s gaze softened as she looked at Bravekit. “If you want, I could teach you how to track scents, or even how to spot where an animal might have died. It’s something I’ve picked up from watching and studying... you know, remains. Not exactly what you’d learn from a regular warrior’s training, but it can help you understand the forest in a way others don’t.” She gave a small shrug, not sure if Bravekit would find it as fascinating as she did, but she was offering nonetheless. "If you’re not scared of that sort of thing, I could show you some of my favorite places to find... interesting things. There’s more to being a warrior than just the fighting part."
It all happened so quickly, all she could do was blink in confusion. Instinctively, Songpaw moved to take a step to stop Starlingpaw, but she was too slow. "Star, stop!" She called out to him but it was too late, he already got involved. The apprentice flinched visibly at the harshness of Berrystorm's tone, but nodded. Looking at Starlingpaw with a pleading gaze. "Star...its okay. Berrystorm is right. Twilightstar is here, you can let him go now." She mewed softly, hoping to talk Starlingpaw down. She didn't want him to get into trouble - or maybe...more trouble to be more accurate. Hopefully Twilightstar will be merciful towards Starlingpaw...since he was only acting for his clanmates best interest. Please Star...let him go.

Jaggedpaw flinched as a loud commanding shout cut through the daze he had fallen into. One which had been filled with nothing but the scent of blood and its metallic taste, that and the clearing around him seemed to blur into the background. Only sound present was the quiet growl and the urgent voice telling him to consume but it was cut off by the loud shouting which effectively dragged him back to reality. The apprentice unlatched his teeth from his opponent's shoulder momentarily confused as to what was happening. You could say he was stunned. What's with the fuss? This was a brawl wasn't it, why wasn't cardinalpaw fighting back. Jaggedpaw knew cardinalpaw couldn't beat him in a fight but he didn't think the tom would even try to defend himself. Where was the blocking and returning blows??? Also why was there suddenly a crowd around them, did others not have anything better to do?? Jaggedpaw let his brain catch up and take in who was shouting at him, that's when he saw the clans leader. Was she shouting at him, for what? “Wha-”
His words had not even fully left his mouth before something- someone barreled into him like he had done to Cardinalpaw and effectively knocked him over and pinning him. Jaggedpaw let out a muffled oof on impact followed by a hiss at being so suddenly tackled! Jaggedpaw glared up at his new attacker who he was unfamiliar with and had no clue as to why they were fighting him! Jaggedpaw returned the snarl sent at him but stopped when he noticed the apprentice's unsheathed claws- that wasn't allowed! He knew that much. ”What do you think you're doing, get off!” Jaggedpaw hissed, attempting to kick the other apprentice off.
The warriors shouting hurt his ears, why were they getting involved and what did they mean Twighlightstar would handle this? Handle what! Handle what???? Another apprentice that Jaggedpaw didn't recognize seemed to be trying to convince the apprentice- starlingpaw, to release him but she was keeping her distance like he was dangerous. Wait, why was he being treated like an enemy? Excuse me, what had he done to deserve this treatment?? He merely bit cardinalpaw in retaliation. How was that wrong? ”Handle what??” he asked sounding mostly baffled as he turned his head to look at the warrior
Jaggedpaw's name yowled, alongside the word exile. This pairing had Strawberrypaw snapping out of her fitful sleep so fast she nearly gave herself whiplash as she shot from her nest, a snarl peeling her lips back to reveal unusually lengthy fangs. "Get your claws off my brother." Her sneer is in her own voice for once as she rocks to a stop as close as possible, forgoing any other cat, pupils slitted with barely tempered rage. Crowtooth had practically drilled into her the fact that biting harming clanmates was not something she should be doing, but if this cat didn't get off this instant, she was tempted to make him, exile or not. They’d already lost Seedpaw, they weren’t losing another.

As he was commanded to release the apprentice, Starlingpaw did so immediately, padding back to songs, ears pinned and pupils slitted. A clanmaye attacked a clanmate, and that deserved death. It was as pure and simple as that. His glare shifted to Strawberrypaw. "Your brother attacked a clanmate!" He snarled, Venom dripping from.his voice as he padded back to Os paw, tail lashing.
Starlingpaw sighed, tail flicking. "Sorry songs.. I couldn't stop myself.. Clanmates attacking clanmates hits me so wrong." He growled. If he was going to be punished for reacting, so be it.
