Copperpaw was shivering. She had fallen into the river during training earlier today, and was still trying to get the water off her pelt.

Sprucekit had been cat watching as usual when she noticed Copperpaw in her peripheries. The brief bit of joy she felt quickly turned to worry as she saw her friend damp and shivering. She scrambled to her paws, before rushing over to the apprentice.

"Copperpaw!" Sprucekit called. It was the first time they've spoken since she was apprenticed, and she almost called her Copperkit. Almost. "Are you okay? Do you need something?"

"N-no... but thanks for offering," said Copperpaw. "I accidentally fell into the river and got water up my nose... it feels bad." She coughed.

Sprucekit's nose wrinkled as she imagined the sensation. "Sorry...That sounds uncomfortable. Have you tried rubbing your nose with a paw? Or against the ground works too..."

Silence fell for several moments. The tortoiseshell almost wanted to apologize for not personally congratulating her friend on her promotion, or for not having any other useful suggestions. The tip of her tail flicked as she considered what to say. "What was your mentor teaching you? It doesn't sound like you were practicing swimming."

"We were taking a tour of the territory," mewed Copperpaw. "So, who are you hoping to have for your mentor?" She sneezed.

A territory tour? That sounded about right. And she couldn't help but feel excited to have her own tour. Granted, she was excited and nervous in equal measure for her apprenticeship.

"I don't know..." Sprucekit said with a hint of embarrassment. "There's so many of them to choose just one. Maybe a Lionheart... oh, but everyone wants to an apprentice to one. So maybe just a brave warrior. Honest in what I'll need to do to improve. What's your mentor like? Fallowgrape, right?"
