Barleypaw Training

Dreamlight pricked her ears as she felt the wind brush against her whiskers. Her head turns in the direction of the passing tom as she pauses just outside the warriors' den. With Leopardflight training finished and her successfully reaching warriorhood, the blind warrior hadn't been expected to be saddled with another apprentice's training. But she was and she's been neglecting the apprentice in favor of Leopardflight.

Not that it was an excuse, but she had been hoping to finish her training so she could give Barleypaw her full attention. Now that the deed was done, it was time to see what Barleypaw needed.

"Barleypaw," Dreamlight called out as she sat just outside the apprentice den. Her ears jerked back and forth as she listened for the apprentice's pawsteps. "Sorry, for the late introduction. I'm Dreamlight, I'll be helping you with the rest of your training as soon as you let me know what else you need to be taught."

Hearing her name Barleypaw stood up from her nest, back legs stretched before walking out. She moved over to the sound of the cats voice. Her left ear flickered as the other cat asked about her training. She was pretty much done, but there was something she thought she could use more of. Battle.

She wasn't keen on fighting in any battles, but if she were needed it would be nice to get the extra training. Especially since she didn't believe in her abilities. Her last mentor had, but she still wasn't very sure. What if she had just been telling her that? What if she wasn't as good as she was told? Pushing the thoughts to the side she moved her blind gaze towards what she hoped was the warrior.

"Pretty much done with my training, but I do think I could use some more battle training. It's something i feel I struggle with and would like to get better at it.", Barleypaw responded.

Pretty much done! Wonderful, less work for Dreamlight. The blind she-cat raises her ears at the mention of battle training. That was one of her favorite parts of training after she learned how much fun it could be.

"So you've already learned how to battle but want to brush up on it." Dreamlight turned and headed out of camp, expecting the apprentice to keep up with her without too much trouble. She seemed more experienced than Leopardflight when they were training.

"You wanna tell me what you've already learned and I can see about adding onto that or we can do some sparring if you just want to test out your skills." Either or worked for Dreamlight. The she-cat paused in a grassy clearing not too far from and turned to face Barleypaw for her answer.

The apprentice followed after her new mentor, growing excited yet scared at the same time. It was nice to get back into training. Now she was even closer to be finished. Though she doubt she was ready. It was just hard to know if she did have what it took to be a warrior. The doubt was holding her back and she didn't know how to move around it. Maybe in time she would. Right now ahe needed to focus on this right now.

"I wouldn't mind sparring and going from there.", she replied. Barleypaw hoped it would make her more confident in her abilities. Talking about it just made her a little... No a lot nervous.
