Beechpaw needed to know how to climb... after that... she just needed to do one more stupid lesson, then she'd FINALLY be able to receive her warrior name. The golden tabby pointed she-cat's gaze swept over camp, eventually landing on the cat that she'd settle for teaching her how to climb.

Dandelionmane. She approached, clearing her throat once within earshot "Hey Dandelionmane, If you're not busy would you teach me how to climb?" Beech asked, tilting her head curiously.

Dandelionmane was surprised by the apprentice's request but nodded "Uh- I don't wanna... bother anyone else... so we can practice here in camp if you're cool with that-"

After Beech nodded they padded toward a random tree around the perimeter of the camp.

"Okay first off- You're going to want to keep your claws unsheathed. Make sure that you sink then deep enough into the tree to support the entirety of your weight" They said, demonstrating by sitting on their haunches before carefully pressing their claws into the bark.

"Use your front paws to pull yourself up- Like this" Dandelionmane dragged themself up the tree, sinking their back claws into the bark as well as soon as they could.

"Don't forget to use your back legs to push yourself forward, puts a lot less stress on your shoulders" They said with a nod. They gracefully made their way to the lowest branch, carefully turning to look down at Beechpaw.

"When you're up in a tree branch- be careful to keep your claws in the bark, it's pretty easy to slip off" Dandelion said with a serious nod, as they waited for Beechpaw to attempt the climb.

Beechpaw nodded, okay sick, that's easy enough! The Thunderclan apprentice sunk her claws into the tree before using her front paws to drag herself up a bit until she could sink her back claws into the bark.

She struggled a lot, kicking and skittering on her way up to the lowest branch, but after some time and trial and error, Beech finally managed to crawl her way up to the first branch. The apprentice puffed her chest out proudly, smiling up at Dandelionmane

"I- did it!" She said between tired pants, looking down at the camp below them "wow! we're pretty high up-" She said, staring down wide-eyed.

Dandelionmane cheered as they watched Beechpaw carefully, ready to leap down in an attempt to catch the apprentice if she fell. The pure white warrior stepped back, making room one the branch once Beechpaw was closer.

They beamed at the apprentice with a purr "Wonderful job! You did really well! Maybe try sinking your claws in a little deeper next time- but otherwise you did wonderfully!" They said, flicking their tail "Getting down is much more simple, it's basically just climbing but in reverse! or you could jump! though it might be a little high for you" they said humming in thought "Here- try this"

Dandelionmane skittered down the bark all the way to the ground, looking up at Beechpaw, waiting for her to follow.

Beechpaw nodded, doing what Dandelionmane did, but losing her balance last second. The golden pointed apprentice squeezed her eyes shut, expecting to crash to the cold hard ground.

That's when she felt soft warmth and heard a grunt. She opened her eyes, realizing Dandelionmane had thrown themself under herself to catch her. She rolled off the warrior, nudging their should affectionately in thanks before stepping back

"Thank you Dandelionmane-" They said, still shaken up from falling.

Dandelionmane nodded in response "No worries Beech! We can try again later! you did great! take it easy now!" They said with a nod, heading off to attend to their warrior duties, or in reality, to take a nap.
