The Fawn and The Jay [P]

Fawnshadow padded out of camp, turning to make sure Jayheart was following. The wind gently ruffled her fur and her eyes shown as she made her way to a good hunting spot. She looked at Jayheart with a smile, though she secretly wished she was hunting with Bearsnarl. Fawn loved having friends, and hanging out with Jayheart was awesome. But for some reason she couldn't get this other tom out of her head.

With a last glance at Jayheart, the sweet calico smelled the air. A starling scent was fresh in the air, she crept in its direction, using some nearby shrubs as cover. She looked to the other feline, giving him a "do you smell that" kind of look. Her tail whisked back and forth, carefully as to not touch the ground below.

Fawnshadow stalked towards the prey. She flicked her tail, trying to tell Jayheart to stay. She would corner the starling and scare it right into Jay's paws.

Fawnshadow ran out from her cover and swerved into the path of the starling which had been mindlessly pecking at the ground. It jumped and flew into the direction of Jayheart, flying a bit higher than Fawnshadow had thought it would. She hoped the tom would be able to catch it still.

Jayheart pounced on the bird and killed it before it got far.

``Great catch!`` The she-cat meowed. ``You can bury it, I'll see if i can sniff something else out.`` Fawnshadow told her companion, as she opened her maw to catch any scents.
