There is a brand new kitten in the nursery, and it didn't get here the usual way. Naturally, Cuckookit would like to investigate.

He hasn't asked about the kitten yet. It's more fun to find thing out all by hinself. But he knows it is an orange kitten, and he knows it smelled very strange when it first got here. Cuckookit had been under the impression that kittens came from queens—not in from outside. He's not angry about the strange new thing, just curious about how it came to ne. So he resolved to wait until a better time to talk to the stranger.

He waited. And he waited. And in waiting these past couple days, Cuckookit has come to the realization this brand new orange kitten seems...what is it. Shy, and...Lonely. A word Cuckookit knows, but has never felt. He'd thought it would be impossible to be lonely in a clan, and especially in the nursery, but New Orange is pulling it off. Cuckookit's finally at his wits' end. He'll make sure New Orange starts seeming like more of a denmate and less of a shadow and ask those questions he wants answered and he'll do it right...as soon as...he finds him.

Cuckookit squints around the nursery, finally stopping at a dimly-lit patch of ginger, and soon Willowkit has another kitten sitting down nearby, head cocked.

"You. Hello. I'm Cuckookit."

Willowkit jumped at the kit's appearance. He started at the kit with wide eyes. He stayed quiet, too stunned to speak. How did this other kit get next to him? Willowkit crouched down closer to his nest and mewed quietly, "I'm Willowkit." He flexed his claws and pawed the nest anxiously.

He nods slowly and is, then, very quiet for some time. Really, Cuckookit's just paying attention to how cozy Willowkit's nest is. Maybe Willowkit might want to nap together some time...but first they should probably become friends. How? Hrm.

Cuckookit blinks down at Willowkit's crouching form before he crouches, too. "Why are you down here?" Cuckookit asks, mystified. "And...do you know how I should be friends with you?"
