The black-and-white she-kit huffed. ''You're mean! A mean, mean warrior! You're not my parent!'' Splashkit glared at Chickadeeswivel some more, lashing out with a tiny paw at the warrior's legs. It wouldn't do any harm, though.

Chickadeeswivel sighed, stepping out of the way of the kit. "Sometimes I have to be mean." She replied. Stumblekit said nothing, digging little pictures into the hard ground with a teeny claw. He frowned, glaring daggers at a dead leaf that strayed from a nest. "I can play with who I want." He mumbled. Chickadeeswivel groaned inwardly, resting her tail of Stumblekit. "Splashkit isn't old enough to play with you yet, I'm sorry." She mewed. "And I don't want to deal with an angry queen because you couldn't keep your claws sheathed, mister Vulture chaser."

But chickadeeswirl had already made up her mind. If Stumbelkit put even a single claw out of line, Chickadeeswivel would be blamed for not keeping track of him. She was already on thin ice with the clan born cats and wanted no reason for anyone to look down on Stumblekit or Chickadeeswivel more than they already did. "That's enough." She mewed sternly. "Go back to your nest. We're done here."

What was with warriors sticking their noses where they don't belong? Leopardsong stretches as she rises from her nest and pads to Splashkit, Stumblekit, and Chickadeeswivel.
"Excuse you, Chickadeeswivel, if you don't mind leaving the kits be. I don't like the tone you're taking with Splashkit and I really don't like how presumptuous you're being with Stumblekit. He's merely playing, there have been no claws unsheathed, and no one's been hurt, I don't see the need for you to make such a fuss over nothing. The kits have a right to decide who they want to play with, and if there is a problem I or one of the queens can handle it. Leave Splashkit and Stumblekit to play." The forever queen's tone was polite but agitated. Kits only get such a small bit of time to be kits, Leopardsong didn't appreciate the warrior interuppting their fun.

Splashkit puffed up her chest with pride as Leopardsong padded up and started tearing (verbally) into Chickadeeswivel, a pleased grin forming on her maw. ''Thank you, Miss Leopardsong!'' she squeaked before turning back to Stumblekit and dropping into another sloppy crouch.

Chickadeeswivel grimaced. "Stumblekit is seven moons, did you know that? He's too big to be playing with the other kits!" She retorted. "And besides, it's not your place to tell me how to raise my kin. I don't care who you think you are, I know what's best for my nephew." Stumblekit eyed Splashkit warily, not wanting to get in trouble again. He batted at her in a cautious, playful manner. " AND I'd like to add that he is currently grounded for sneaking out of camp and almost getting a warrior killed. How you think I should punish Stumblekit is not my concern." The she-cat flicked her tail angrily. "It's none of your business at all, Leopardsong."

Wonderful, she was one of those cats. Leopardsong sighed and took a seat while looking at Splashkit and Stumblekit. "You two can go play while I talking with Chickadeeswivel." She didn't see the need for the two to be in between the two bickering she-cats. Let them have their fun while she sorts this out.
"Chickadeeswivel, I don't care if you're his mother, your blood relation to Stumblekit doesn't grant you total control over him. I know Stumblekit's age, the trouble he caused, and the punishment he's been given. I don't recall the punishment stating that he was not allowed to be a kitten or play with his denmates. It's not the first time a kit has been stuck in the nursery for a bit longer for doing something foolish. Learning from your mistakes comes with growing up." She lashed her tail and rose to stand again, restless.
"Stumblekit was given his punishment, there is no need to add onto it or consistently remind him of what he's done wrong. He's aware and I'm sure he's learned from it, it's done. Anything regarding the kits is my business as I've been granted the honor of being a forever queen, my duty is to the kits of the clan, and I don't care whose family they belong to so long as they reside in the nursery they are mine to watch over and care for." It's been a while since she's dealt with such ignorance.
"I don't recall anyone dying and naming you leader, you don't have any right to punish a kit that's already been punished. Now, you're not a queen, and I've grown tired of listening to your nonsense. I'm going to ask you kindly to leave otherwise I'll have to call for one of the furies to escort you out and inform Twilightstar or Crowtooth of your unreasonable behavior towards Stumblekit and have you banned from the nursery and Stumblekit altogether."
As it was she'd have to go see the deputy or leader about this. Leopardsong was all for disciplining the kit when they were being bad or unruly, but Stumblekit hasn't done anything to deserve such discipline. Chickadeeswivel was being unreasonable and picking on Stumblekit for no reason.

"I am not his mother." Chickadeeswivel growled, but seemed to calm down a little at Leopardsong's reasonable words. That was until the queen threatened to take her nephew away from him. Stumblekit, upon hearing that he could go play, hobbled out of the nursery. "Splashkit, come on!" He giggled, not seeming to realize the gravity of the situation. Chickadeeswivel tail lashed. "Let me get one thing straight. I don't give starclan's rump what think you know about Stumblekit but you don't. He's got something wrong with his spine, so it's not just about him hurting the other kits." She tried to calm herself down, but the thought of being forced away from her only clanborne kin over a stupid argument had her angry as a badger. "I should have mentioned that earlier, I know. But how am I supposed to explain that to a kit? It's also my right as a guardian to ground him, regardless of how you would raise him. You're not his caretaker, so stop acting like you are. What he did put his own life at risk so SORRY if I'm a little cautious about him play-fighting! Is it not reasonable to be worried?" She took a deep breath and sighed. wash it off like rain, wash it off like rain. "Look, let's not escalate things, okay? I admit, grounding him was a lot, considering he'll not be an apprentice until new leaf. BUT he is still not allowed to play fight, which I have told him multiple times, because I still don't know what in starclan's name is causing him to be so unbalanced." She glowered at the ground, anger tightening in her chest. "And you have no right to threaten me over something so small. You could have been more reasonable than that. We both could have. Next time you don't like a guardian's parenting methods, help them out before you threaten to take their kit away."
