Cowpaw padded up to the warrior with a soft gaze. They looked like a cat who could teach they want they had to learn nicely. That's all he's looking to find right now. He doesn't want to learn..flaying or anything gruesome. "Your name is Quietmouth right?" he asked with a tiny tilt of his head. "Can you teach me defense?" That was a nicer word then fighting right? Learning how to protect himself is more important.

Quietmouth nodded to the apprentice as they approached. He was pretty sure their name was Cowpaw. They seemed to be asking him something, but he didn't know what. As he always did, he cocked his head then pointed to his ear. He was shocked how many didn't know he was deaf recently, but then again, he was getting noticed a lot more recently, probably because he was picking up an apprentice of his own.

Ear? Hearing? Does he need to speak louder? No... when he talked to the warrior they didn't seem to really understand. Maybe they're deaf? "Uhhh..uhmmm.." he stuttered. How will he show fighting in motion? He lifted a paw, unsheathed it, and swiped it in the air infront of him. "Fighting??" he said and mouthed slowly during the motion.

Quietmouth watched as the apprentice swatted their paw. They must want me to teach them something about fighting. Figuring thta they would want to learn about defense, since they were a young apprentice, and their mentor should teach them offence.

Quietmouth nodded at the apprentice, got up, and signaled with his tail for Cowpaw to follow. They then left the camp, stopping a short distance outside in a clear-ish area.

Signaling for Cowpaw to stop, he padded a little further into the clearing and showed off some basic attacking moves, 'using' them against an imaginary foe. He then sat down and watched Crowpaw, hoping they would realize that he was waiting for them to imitate him.

Cowpaw relaxed, it seemed like they understood him. He followed the warrior quietly, his fluffy tail brushing across the grass. He padded into the clearing and stood a bit away from Quietmouth. He sat down and studied the warrior's demonstration closely, blue eyes glowing. When the tom finished and watched Cowpaw, he blinked confused for a moment before realizing. 'He wants me to copy, I think.' The black and white young apprentice rose to his paws and turned so he can see from the side.

Cowpaw focused on a spot in the distance before copying the moves he saw to the best of his ability. They were more sloppy and wide than the demonstration, but he didn't know that. He turned to Quietmouth with hesitant eyes. "Like that?" he asked before remembering that the warrior probably didn't hear him.

Quietmouth observed the apprentice, noting the flaws in the apprentice's actions. When Cowpaw sat back down, Quietmouth got up and repeated the move. Indicating to his back leg with his muzzle, Quietmouth got up on his hind paws, though he ensured that he didn't go high off the ground and fell forward onto the invisible opponent with his full weight. He was sure that his back legs were kept close together and that he kept his balance as he landed. He then sat and looked at the apprentice again.
