It was finally time. It really shouldn't have took this long but Nectarpaw was just grateful to almost be done. He couldn't find Havenfade at the moment so he went to the first warrior he saw. "Fallensky. Can you give me an assessment? I think I'm ready." He stood straighter and proudly. He was ready wasn't he?

Fallensky gazed at the sky, unaware of her surroundings. As Nectarpaw spoke, she ended up nearly yowling in surprise, her eyes widening. Oh! Nectarpaw! Didn't see you there. His next question shocked the young warrior. Give him his assessment? What? She had only just become a warrior, two meetings ago. As she stared at the apprentice, jaws gaping, she gave him a small nod. I... I can do that. She smiled warmly, giving her tail a flick. Do you want to do hunting or battle first? She asked, taking a deep breath. Think, Fallen! What would Mama do? Right. She ran through the steps her mother had taken while giving her the assessment, her eyes narrowing as she focused.

Nectarpaw stepped back a bit. "Oh sorry! Didn't mean to alarm you!" He shuffled his paws on the ground, worried he ruined his chance. Thankfully the next question meant that she'll give him one! "Hunting, please." He still wasn't a fan of fighting ever since the spar with Stormpaw. So he'd rather save that for last.

Fallensky nodded weakly, her tail swishing. No worries. She mumbled, flexing her claws. Gradually, her mood shifted. Her tail lifted and her eyes regained their shine. She took a deep breath, accepting that she had to be strong for this apprentice. After all, Nectarpaw was relying on her. All you have to do is catch a rabbit and some other prey. She smiled reassuringly, tipping her head to the side. Catch as much as you can and meet me back at sunhigh. This would be a long time of waiting, watching. I'm sure you'll do fine, don't worry. She touched her nose to Nectarpaw's before turning around to bounce off into the trees.

Nectarpaw flicked his stump of a tail nervously. He really has to focus now. The ginger tabby apprentice offered the warrior a grateful smile, also appreciating the comforting gesture. "Okay.. Okay!" He mumbled before trying again and sounding more confident. He was mostly talking to himself anyways, Fallensky has already left.

What's first? A rabbit may take the longest so perhaps he should do that first. 'Was she already watching him?' The thought lurked in his head. If she is then he better start moving quickly. Nectarpaw turned on his heels and walked through the territory, nose high in the air for a rabbit.

(rolling d20 at disadvantage: 14, 18)

It took his a little to find anything in the frosty air but soon he caught the scent of a rabbit. He followed it slowly, remembering Havenfade's directions for navigating snow. He noticed a white rabbit sniffing in a clearing and he quietly moving his crawling into a crouch.

If he was quiet (and lucky) He wouldn't need to run after it. If he did the noise may alert all the other prey in the area. Nectarpaw was cautious when placing his weight on his haunches so he wouldn't crunch the snow. The apprentice leapt with claws extended and raked one paw onto the rabbits back. Before it could make a sound he leaned to bite it's neck.

It was a little messy, his paws were too low. At least it didn't alert the other prey. Nectarpaw buried the catch into the ground and moved away so he can smell more than rabbit blood.

Him moving hadn't worked, he couldn't smell anything else. Nectarpaw contemplated trying in the tunnels but he wasn't like Vinesmoke. Even though he took a trip down there he isn't confident enough to go alone. What if he got lost? It's not a risk worth taking, he decided. He doesn't want it to possibly collapse. Like the Starcave.

With a slow breath he took in the forest air once more to try again. He will not allow himself to come back to the warrior with only a rabbit to show. His been waiting too long for this chance.

Nectarpaw caught the faint scent of a shrew and he followed it a bit quicker. It was lingering nearby a tree with a hole in its roots, the ginger apprentice guessed it was it's den. Making extra sure that his paw placement was correct, he slunk closer..and closer. His paw made a slight crunching noise on the snow and the shrew looked upward. Nectarpaw shot forward and caught it before it ran back into its hole. He felt less confident then before, he was so focused on where he put his paws and not how. Snow hunting is rough.

Nectarpaw tossed dirt over the rodent and glanced upwards. It'll be sunhigh soon and he only have two pieces of prey to show for it. Some may say that's lucky in leaf-bare, but he doesn't want to be lucky. He just wants to be good. 'Is she watching?' The thought popped up once again.

It seemed like luck was against him yet again. The sun was rising higher in the sky and he couldn't find another prey. Maybe he should of waited till newleaf for his assessment. 'Enough of the pity party..' he scolded himself. Shaking the snow off his white paws he traveled back around to grab his shrew and rabbit.
Nectarpaw padded back to the spot they met, jaws tight around the rabbit fluff and the shrews tail. He dropped the kills infront of his paws and waited for the warrior. 'Is she going to tell me how I did now? Or wait till we are done?' he felt anxious for his results.

Fallensky winced as she slunk back through the trees. Ew. She was used to the wide open moor. As she approached Nectarpaw, she threw a smile onto her face. Great job! Even though he hadn't brought back much of a haul, he had met the goals. He had passed this part. The warrior reminded herself that when she had been Fallenpaw, she had only caught three pieces of prey. Not much of a difference. You passed this part, amazing! She exclaimed with a purr, her tail swishing happily. Now... Onto combat. She murmured. I'll be ready whenever you are! She crouched down, awaiting his first attack.

He let out a breath when the warrior reappeared once again. She said he passed! This was good! He was doing good! "Okay!" he felt more confident than before.

Combat time. Should he ask if they were using claws? No that'll just make him sound hesitant. 'Focus!!' Nectarpaw's narrowed his eyes and moved into a battle crouch. He watched her for a moment, trying to figure out what to go for first. The ginger tabby shot towards her with sheathed paws extended. He remembered one of his first lessons. Aim for the head to stun them, rapid moments work. A white paw flashed outward and dove towards her head and soon his other paw joined it. Two blows may do the job.

Fallensky watched Nectarpaw lunge at her, and she tried to duck in time. (Rolls a 6d20.) As soon as she started to move her face out of the way, a paw struck her in the face, and she was sent back, baffled. She narrowed her eyes as another paw swung at her, and she decided to perform a counter-attack this time. (Rolls a 19d20.) The she-cat managed to successfully duck this time, and she rolled forward, attempting to hit into the apprentice's legs.

He forced to stumble backwards after his paws touched the ground again. The placement of his paws was staggered but he reared backwards and tried to wrestle the she-cat with both his paws on her neck. If he was successfully he wants to pull Fallensky towards the ground and hold her there.

Fallensky drew in a deep breath, steadying herself. As Nectarpaw launched himself back at her and put his paws at her neck, she pushed back at him. (Rolls a 17d20.) She managed to spin around and swung a paw at the tom's face to stun him, like he was trying to do to her only minutes ago.
