Pinekit lazed around, continuing his silly plots for clan domination. Hm, who should he mess with next? Maybe that kit, Mushroomkit, over there. He smiled. Oh yes, that would be very very fun. See, this was how he played: chaos. That was his job after all, being the most loved cat by everyone so he could become leader. By popular demand. Of course that started now. "Mushroomkit!" he mewed nicely.
Mushroomkit had already been staring at Pinekit as the other started to approach, after all, Dovekit had greeted the other kitten and it was kind of surprising that Pinekit forwent replying to her and instead called out to Mushroomkit instead. Maybe it was because they were identical twins and so Pinekit thought it was Mushroomkit that said hi to him. "Hi Pinekit! Though I didn't call you over, it was my sister Dovekit!" Mushroomkit motioned to her right side as though anyone but her could see the make-belief sister in question. "She was asking what you were up to is all!"

- @Dolomedes - oh hi his parents are dead -
Pinekit frowned. Looking around, he couldn't SEE a Dovekit. Maybe she was a bit crazy, because she gestured to her side. Pinekit had to improvise, fast. "Sorry Dovekit, I mixed you up. You look so similar, my head just mixed up you and Mushroomkit and you're so quiet!" he mewed apologetically to the air to the side of Mushroomkit. Talking to the air was WEIRD. Pinekit smiled at Mushroomkit. She was a little bit strange but she seemed nice enough. She could stand up for him! Maybe Dovekit was.. dead? And maybe Mushroomkit could see a ghost. That would be super cool. He'd totally want to actually be friends with her if she DID have ghost sight. Maybe she wasn't crazy... "I was just waiting to see if my parents were around. I haven't seen them for like a moon..." he said at 'Dovekit' again, "How are you? What were you doing? Where are your parents?" He hoped this wasn't some elaborate prank on him and he'd look extremely stupid. He was too smart to look stupid. But he was totally nice. Pinekit was the nicest cat in the clan! Pinekit thought he was super cool because he WAS and when he grew up everyone who didn't know him would meet him and be like "Wow. That cat is super cool." Then everyone might make him leader and that WOULD work, so he just had to become friends with the possibly dead-seeing cat.
Mushroomkit purred, a quiet sound in her chest she hasn't had much practice using yet, but she was just so happy that this cat wasn't ignoring her sister like most cats tended to do. Also it seemed that he didn't mean to ignore Dovekit the first time, she and her sister were pretty much identical after all. "Yeah! Dovekit's shy because most cats tend to avoid or even just flat out ignore her..." Her eyes flickered to Dovekit again, "Why don't you just talk to him yourself, Dovekit, you wanted to... mhm... alright, fine.." Mushroomkit's ears stopped flicking after a moment and then looked to Pinekit again as the tom continued to ask Dovekit questions.
With a wave of her paw, and giggle, Mushroomkit began to speak again, "Well, she's gotten all shy now, so she doesn't have a loud voice and she wants me to tell you what she whispers to me! I'm sorry to hear about your parents though, maybe if you don't find them you could have our mom as your mom too. I wouldn't mind having a brother!" Mushroomkit said, speaking for herself before pausing and frowning at the space beside her, "Dovekit you are being so rude, Pinekit is being so nice, why wouldn't we want him as a brother... Mom won't love us less with an extra kit in the litter... besides we're like the same age... mhm, see you should just listen to me more, silly!"
Concluding whatever side chat she fell into with her sister, finally the russet colored kit answered Pinekit's questions, "She says that she's doing okay, just tired... and that she was wanting to talk me into a quiet game- but those are lame because she just falls asleep during them-," The kit added her own comment onto her sister's supposed answer, "And she says that she saw mom in the nursery somewhere recently.. And I saw mom last with Dovekit so I don't know anything better!" Mushroomkit confirmed as she started to drag a claw through the soil, beginning to make a random pattern in the ground as the conversation drew on. She liked chatting sure, but sometimes she liked doing something else at the same time, it was like her brain just needed to have something verbal and physical matched up.
He wondered why everyone ignored Dovekit. He didn't know, maybe like because she wasn't there? He smiled. At least "they" (Mushroomkit only in actual fact) liked him and the fact he listened. He just smiled. He had to keep up with this game, this trick he was trying his best to put up. This was confusing him more and more by the second and he couldn't drop the act yet. Lucky for him, he had at least done what he had hoped.
Then he had clearly spooked Dovekit because she wasn't going to speak to him. Good. At least the spirit (he assumed) was just gonna whisper what they were saying, so he didn't have to improvise. And he was lucky. "Sorry Dovekit; if that was my fault I didn't mean to!" he mewed. "That would be cool!" in reply to the being a brother (could he do that???).
Quiet games were boring, he silently agreed. He watched as a claw dug through the ground. Hm. "Do you wanna play an actual game, not a quiet game??" he said, excitedly. Maybe he could make real friends and then use them to convince people he was a great cat.
Mushroomkit hopped to her paws, staring excitedly at the other kit at the suggestion of a more fun game. It wasn’t very often that she got to play fun games with cats her own age. Most seemed to get weird and rude around her before long, and Dovekit never liked fun games because she rather nap in the sun all day. Honestly makes a better mushroom than Mushroomkit does! “Sure, yes! That’s sounds like a bunch of fun.”
After a short pause, and the flicking of Mushroomkit’s half floppy ears, the kit spoke up again before long, “Whatever, Dovekit, you can stay here and nap and be boring.” The russet she finished with a playful roll of her eyes before focusing on Pinekit again, “We’ll have to get more players if your game takes more than two, Dovekit is being boring and doesn’t really wanna play.”
Shockingly, she DID want to play. "Ooh, I have a fun idea. Let's practice fighting so we can be prepared for the future when we're apprentices. Then our mentors will be super super proud of us!!"
He took a step back, preparing to do... something.
Mushroomkit found herself nodding along with what Pinekit was saying, not finding the idea of practicing fighting all too bad. Her tail swayed behind her but due to its shortness it really just looked like swaying as she crouched down like she's seen apprentices do while practicing. She wasn't actually sure if they crouched for fighting or hunting or both or something else she didn't really know that well. "Great!" As she hummed her response she took the chance to try and bat her paw towards Pinekit's direction.
All RIGHT! She did think this was a good idea. This would be super fun, very very fun. If he got a head start, he could be a warrior as soon as possible! Maybe he'd do it in a moon and become FAMOUS for being the fastest kit to become a warrior EVER. As Mushroomkit smacked his paw, he crouched like she did. "C'mon do it like me, it'll be more fun!" he said, unsheathing his claws. Booooo, Mushroomkit may just be boring after all. This wasn't REAL fighting.
He tried his best to leap and scratch with his tiny claws.
