Sunheart padded quietly along behind Caveclaw, stopping every now and again to scent the air. Outsiders. It wreaked of outsiders. Surely after Owlstar's promise, none were left? However, there was another scent...a familiar one.

Bounding forward with pelt spiked in alarm, he skidding to a halt beside the Lionheart, eyes wide in horror. "Amberdusk..." He whispered, eyes locking onto his sibling's body. Oh, but they were not alone.

An outsider lay slain next to him. Judging by the scent, they were the only one, thankfully. But it didn't stop the deputy's lip from curling into a snarl. His sibling was dead and there was nothing he could do to avenge him- Amberdusk did it himself. What an odd feeling- a mixture of pride, grief, anger and hopelessness. Amberdusk fought protected RiverClan territory, and that's exactly how Sunheart would make their memory live on.

Running forward to the warrior's body, Sunheart pressed his nose deep into the fur on their flank, as if hoping breathing in their scent meant they weren't unable to be saved. Cold. They were...cold. How long had they been out here in the freezing air for the body to be so cold already?

Biting back a wail, the deputy turned to look at Caveclaw, squaring his shoulders in an attempt to look strong, but it was clear he was struggling to keep it together. "Caveclaw," The bengal meowed hoarsely, glancing at the outsider's body with pure disgust. "Move that body outside of clan territory- we don't need predators finding it and making a home here."
He growled, flexing his claws into the ground. He scented the air again. "It smells like it was only the one, but be careful. Don't put yourself in unnecessary danger."

"I'm taking Amberdusk's body back to camp. When you're done, come straight back to camp and take a patrol out to make sure there's no more filthy outsiders."

Caveclaw silently and patiently waited until Sunheart spoke again.
Grief is... she's not sure she's experienced the full brunt of it herself, just do to how she is, but she can understand that it is definitely difficult.

And once order were given, They nodded.
"Understood."

As Sunheart brought Amberdusk back to camp, Caveclaw picked up the outsider's body, and began to carry it away.
Soon, she reached the outsider border.

She went a bit outside the border, enough to when she finally dropped the outsider's body, it wouldn't attract anything into RiverClan territory.
She stared at it for a moment, some sort of frustration boiling up for a moment, before she quickly shoved it down.
She needed to head back to camp.
So, that's what she did.

Heroneye blinked at the apprentice, who was bursting with energy and had caught the Lionheart a bit by surprise. It was a nice change of pace, she supposed, from the gray moods that leaf-bare tended to produce. Heroneye couldn't quite return her enthusiasm, but she replied, "Let's do our best," with her attempt at an encouraging nod.

Baneberryburst was soon to follow, so Heroneye began to lead the patrol out of camp and into the snow-covered forest. Once they had made it into the general territory, Heroneye took to pulling a stick out of the snow to cover in cobwebs before beginning to search through various crevises.

It came as no surprise that cobwebs were harder to come across than usual, what with it being leaf-bare and all, but Heroneye had even more trouble than she anticipated. RiverClan's spiders' usual haunts were all but completely bare, save for clumps of snow or patches of ice. She managed to gather a sub-decent wad by looking through a few tree cavities, but that was about all she could manage. She turned to her patrolmates, hoping they'd had some better luck.

Mosspaw looked around, trying to find a good stick. Her eyes landed on a long thin one, and she wrestled it from under the snow. She finally pulled it up, snow-spraying herself, and she giggled.

"Look!" she said with a grin. "I'm a snow-cat!"

He saw that the Lionheart found a couple cobwebs, so he looked around in the opposite direction to see if there was some there. When he heard a yelp of happiness, he turned to the small apprentice and smiled. They are just like my young kits.

He turned back to the area he was looking at and did not find any cobwebs. He growled in frustration. What he did find though was a small patch of poppy seeds!

Heroneye watched the apprentice, whiskers twitching with amusement. She was so carefree, Heroneye couldn't help but feel a bit lighter. That being said, she would still need to search for herbs, being a part of this patrol. It was one thing to look without success, but Heroneye wanted to give Mosspaw the chance to find something of her own. It was her first patrol, after all, and the Lionheart wanted to help instill some positive habits if possible.

Still, though, how to approach this without coming across as a humorless grouch? This was going to take some tact.

"That's all well and good," Heroneye began quietly, "but don't forget: we're here to look for herbs. Try to find at least a bit of cobweb before we leave." Her words were stern, but she tried to balance them out with a gentle tone. Hopefully, she'd be able to get through to Mosspaw that way.

Glancing at Baneberryburst's crop, it seemed that he had had similar luck to Heroneye's. She clicked her tongue disapprovingly, though she wasn't upset with the warrior, of course. It was just poor luck. Heroneye only hoped Berryshine would be able to manage.

From there, Heroneye waited for Mosspaw to finish her search.

Mosspaw nodded sincerely. "Yes, yes." she said confidently.

She looked around. "What if I climb into that tree? There's a hollow- there might be cobwebs!" she said enthusiastically.

She gazed into the branches, picking her stick back into her mouth.

Aspenpaw hadn't said anything at all. That was more concerning than any sort of yelling or biting comments that Seabreeze has come to expect from the younger feline. It only served to further drive his worry and anxiety about Aspenpaw. What had happened to have caused this lapse? "If you want me to be honest, you are worrying me." The former lionheart decided to start bluntly because it was really all he could do, he wasn't his sister, he wasn't good with words but he would try and help anyways.

Seabreeze continued to walk through the territory, not really having any destination in mind, he had really only wanted to get Aspenpaw out of camp for a little bit. "You may be a brat, but somehow, I care about you. I'm not good at this stuff, at all, all I'm really good for is basic work and laying around- as you know," The warrior continued, hoping for Aspenpaw to take the bait and say something at all, but continued after a few moments of silence, "But I want to try and help you, I want you to be a warrior, and I want to see you succeed. And if annoying you out of the apprentice den is the way of doing it, you bet I'll be dragging you out by your tail daily."

"Point is, I'm here. And I'm not going anywhere, so if you want to talk, or annoy me, or anything at all, know that I am still going to be here the next morning. Alright?"

Juniperberry was still wandering around Riverclan territory, looking for a spot to set up his temporary den until he finally found it: a patch of loose, moist dirt. His smirked and quickly began digging, packing the dirt above him as hard as he could.

After a good few minutes of digging, he was finally done for the time being and curled up in new new home. "Oomph-!" It fell. After all his work, it fell on his damn face. Why him? The dark eyed tomcat stood up and simply screamed into the sky.
