blooming through salvation [P]
Daffodilpaw took a deep breath. Trying desperately to bring herself some inner calm. The pale yellow she-cat paced outside the warrior’s den. Nervous. Anxious. She wanted nothing more than to dive into one of those tunnels and never return again. But…she couldn’t do that. She has to do this! Not just for herself, not even for Twilightstar. The thought that Snowybreeze…poor Snowybreeze…was taking something she did so personally…it crushed her.
Fresh determination coursed through her veins. She could do this! Inhaling, she turned and approached the entrance to the den. Sticking her head in she was sure to gather herself. “Snowybreeze?” She called tentatively. Barely more than a squeak. That won’t do… She cleared her throat and took a deep breath. “Snowybreeze? Can we talk?” She called again, this time much stronger. Though her tone was still gentle.
She couldn’t mess this up.

33 Moons - WindClan Warrior
Heightened Perception [Smell] - Active | Rapid Recovery - Inactive | The Collector - Inactive | Not Skiddin' Around - Active
Pale, snow filled fur hiding a cat beneath waddled into the camp, the tom beneath having just gone out to the meadows in an attempt to visit his former mate's grave. Their kits, their wonderful, miraculous, beautiful treasures were now all grown up. Apprentices! And he had... by golly... he had not been able to share the news with her! He'd been so... very busy. But never would have he believed that he could be busy enough for a message like this! Oh, the shame! The travesty! At least now he had made it up to her... somewhat. He would need to continue being the very best father he could be in the future if he wanted to make up for this. Although, with them being apprentices now, perhaps it would be best to not smother them. Let them find their own place in the clan. Yes, that sounded right!
Unfortunately, Snowybreeze's well meaning excursion had devolved into digging out his mate's grave from the snow that had drifted over it. A fact that had him uncharacteristically going into the warriors' den for a bit of a warm up upon return. He didn't frequent the den, even at night, preferring to sleep under the stars where his mate could see he was still alright. He knew she worried so much... and he couldn't bare the thought of adding to those bouts of anxiety she sometimes frequented. And now here he was, resembling more snow than cat. Well... he supposed at least now he truly resembled his name! A small purr of amusement escaping him in his good mood at this thought, he shook his long, leaf-bare fluffed mane, sky blue eyes closed momentarily in his action. In his motions, he failed to hear his former apprentice the first time she called, the shock of hearing her voice only settling in when she called that second, more forceful time.
"Eeep!"
The high pitched cry that escaped his lips was instinctual, and instantly he felt himself warming in bashfulness at his rather rude reaction to Daffodilpaw's approach. Oh dear. She looked so very... serious! Kind, of course, as she had always proven herself to be, but still... very, very serious! And here he was, making a mockery of her approach. Oh, she must be so very angry with him. After he had disappointed her so! He could feel the apologies bubbling in the back of his throat already, and he had to make a conscious effort to not begin gabbing away at how remorseful he was of his ill treatment of her! Of how he had failed her as a mentor! Of how he had heard that she had been disappointed by her next mentor as well! If he could only be swallowed by the earth now, he felt that would be a proper retribution on his current sins.
"I-I'm. So very. Very sorry. I'm. Afraid. I wasn't. Expecting. Um. No. That isn't. Important. Unless you! Think so! I don't mean! Um... Wh-what. What I mean. Is yes. Yes of course. We can. Can talk," the Maine Coon mix stammered, waving paws wildly in front of him with each offense he uttered, finally giving up in the end and opting to simply let the apprentice talk... lest he keep so rudely further intruding on her day.

| Apologies for how long this took to get to. I tend to get hyper focused on healing roleplays and lose sense of time on my other characters and how long they have been waiting on responses sometimes. |

Re: blooming through salvation [P]
Daffodilpaw was relieved when Snowybreeze agreed to speak with her. She didn't care if she didn't redeem herself, she couldn't live with herself not correcting what happened. She needed Snowybreeze to know that she never meant to make him feel inadequate. The pale yellow she-cat exhaled a sigh of relief and smiled at him gratefully. "Thank you." She purred, sitting across from him and wrapping her tail around her paws. "I...I need to clear up some things with you." She mewed, dipping her head as she spoke.
"I am...so so sorry!" She bowed her head as she said this before lifting her bright green gaze back to his. "You...you're an absolutely amazing warrior and mentor." She got right down to it. Twilightstar had told her that Snowybreeze somehow internalized her actions, and she had to fix that. "I never, ever, intended for Bluestrike's taking me out to do my assessment to hurt you in any way... I was thoughtless when I agreed to it, I didn't think of how it might make you feel and I didn't check myself to ensure that you were aware. Originally I thought you knew and would be joining us. Really! I promise!" She explained frantically, praying that her words were really getting through to him.
The last thing she wanted, was for this to leave a permanent scar on Snowybreeze's confidence. "So please, Snowybreeze, please don't think you're a bad mentor or warrior. We didn't work together for long but..." What were the words she wanted to say? She was rambling at this point. But she took a deep breath, she had to simply say what was in her heart. And pray that he could hear it as the truth that it is. "For the time we were paired together, I truly loved being your apprentice." She meowed solemnly, dipping her head again to try and show her earnest.
"And...and even if I'm not your apprentice anymore would you...would you please teach me the trick with your sensitive nose?" She asked with a smile. Daffodilpaw hoped that in doing this, Snowybreeze would see that she meant every word she said. There was much that Snowybreeze could teach others, and she didn't want him to stop trying just because she was stupid.
@ Alchemist Kitsune - Snowybreeze - LOL no worries!
