It's cold. The nursery is warm, but Erminekit doesn't wanna be in there right now. Too many bodies too close together. Bleugh! He wants to see what's happening! He wants to be the bestest bestest ShadowClan warrior in like... forever and always!! He's gonna be so cool! He's gonna rival um... Dawwwwahn starrr! Daw-ahnstar!!

Small body wiggles itself free of the nursery, and bright golden eyes that still don't know how to work that well blink in the sudden light. It's not that much brighter, but Erminekit isn't used to that. He's used to the dark, used to being passed from nursing queen to nursing queen without a mother or a father to take care of him. He's like... a community pet. Or the one kid that everyone takes care of. It's kinda cool.

Not once has Erminekit ever thought to ask after his mother or father, he's barely old enough to have his own thoughts, let alone enough awareness to ask after his mom and dad.

He isn't paying attention to where he's going, focusing too much on keeping his movements steady and not wobbly on his large paws, and he bumps into some cat, face squashed as he dramatically springs back to fall on his rump.

"Ouff-" he exclaims as he lands on the slightly slushy, slightly muddy ground, "owie..." rubbing his nose, little grey kitten glances upward at the cat he'd bumped into, taking in their size and widening his eyes in awe. A real warrior!! "Big...." he observes, voice dripping in awe.

rookfire eyed the kit stumbling out of the nursery with furrowed whisker brows, despite the lack of overall connection to kits and very young apprentices as a whole, a guy could care, and it was still frosty and cold outside. he lets the kit venture on, keeping to himself for the moment and only reacts with a head tilt at the initial 'collision'. it had been too long for kits to still painfully remind him of marigoldpaw, too many other memories piling on top the limited positive ones he has had with the younger feline, but it still leaves a bitter taste on his tongue. especially with cats either similar in age or appearance. this one passed the 'test' his brain seemed to subconsciously run only partially. while his appearance was different enough something was hmm off.
"ya good?" he muttered, leaning down slightly to inspect the kit. striped tail coming to rest around his front paws, the warrior resisted the urge to offer some of his body heat to the smaller feline. he wasnt fatherly or good with children not after his past, not after marigoldpaw, not after lending his trust to someone so blindly they shattered it with ease.

The cat he bumps into is big, with contrasting dark and light fur and scars. He's missing an ear and one of his eyes looks funny, almost milky white. For a moment, Erminekit doesn't answer the question asked of him. Good? What's that? Is is... like happy?

"Um... good," he answers slowly, savoring the words he's just starting to use and understand. They feel weird in his mouth, too thick on his tongue, like they don't fit right. A square peg in a round hole. "What... good... what..?" He tilts his head with the question, curious to find out the answer.

the kit takes a while to answer, seemingly taking in his appearance which, to be fair might look a bit scary to perhaps a kittypet but not someone sharing a den with nightshiver. no matter how cruel that sounded, even confined to his own thoughts. perhaps surprise? they look to be quite young and without bragging he did grow into his height quite well by now. wait how did he even get here in the first place? ehh surprise yeah. "im askin' if ya got hurt" he clarified softly, swallowing his accent as best he could to ease understanding.
"whats yer name?" with surprising resistance, his mind didnt immediately jump to 'i need this kit as my apprentice' as it usually tended to do the second he got even close to being on one ah wavelength with another cat. less likely a need to possess, given the apprentice/mentor relationship was possessing the other in some sort of way, and more likely aching to uplift younger cats and avoid the risk of a slacking mentor ruining potential. he didnt have any slots free for another apprentice anyway, unless needlepaw got her things together soon..and even so, getting dawnstar to agree- holdup wasnt he proud he hadnt jumped to wanting them as his apprentice just a moment ago?

Wormbelly sat in camp. This was the first time he'd actually left the warriors' den. Plagued by the scene of his mother's death. It'd been playing on repeat in his mind for the past few moons, both while awake and asleep.

Though, today it was up for a different reason. The warrior sucked a breath in through his teeth as he glanced down towards his stomach, he hadn't really begun to show much, but he was, most definitely pregnant. He couldn't... tell anyone though... maybe grandma Evening... but even that would lead to questions, and questions would lead to judgement.

Wormbelly tried to shake the thought from his head, no- Everything was fine- it HAD to be fine, he didn't have a choice now. It wasn't just his life he had to consider now. Stars, how could he have let this happen. His gaze flicked over to the Warriors' den, should he tell Coy? Coyote and Honey had their... thing... and despite everything and his confusing relationship with Coy, he wanted him happy in the end, and Honey seemed to do that. At least... It thought he did.

It sighed, deciding it'd do it's best to just avoid dealing with this, and hide the pregnancy to the best of it's ability.

Not... hurt? Good means not hurt.

"Mhm... 'm good," Erminekit answers once he has the meaning of the word, still blinking up at the warrior with wonder in his pale gaze. Big cat. Not the biggest cat, but a big cat. Ermine is very small right now... he's gonna be big one day. The big cat asks his name, and that's something Erminekit actually knows the meaning of.

"Eerrrrrmiiiinneeekit," he sounds out each syllable, giving each more than enough space on his tongue to the point it doesn't really sound like a real word anymore. "Er-mine kit," he repeats. Less drawn out this time. And then, as if he has zero impulse control (as most kits do), Erminekit lifts a white forepaw and pokes at the warrior's tail where it wraps around his paws, batting at it like a long blade of grass dangling tantalizingly in front of his face.

CrimsonDove sat with HillClaw and BadgerNose,
he was grooming BadgerNoses back.
Which was brown..as if someone had laid a pelt of
dirt onto her black and white fur.

The PixieBob lifted its head as HillClaw
started to speak, CrimsonDoves lovely
eyes meeting the ones of the golden rosette tom.
Something the cat would never admit to anyone, was
that they had a sort of a crush on HillClaw when
they were apprentices. BadgerNose had been
only a mewling kit when the two older
cats were apprentices.

"Guys, I CANNOT wait until new-leaf comes!"
HillClaw meowed exaggeratedly, he was a shorthair
so this wasn't necessarily surprising.
CrimsonDove and BadgerNose laughed heartily.
Though it was mostly BadgerNose with her
childlike giggle.

CrimsonDove replied smoothly, his voice
velvety. "It's not that far away, HillClaw,"
and the cat rasped a lick on HillClaws
cheek. BadgerNose than added cheerfully,
"HillClaw you don't have to worry! We'll keep
you warm!"

Midnightpaw entered the clearing quite tired from training but was pleased with themself. They had made their mentor proud of them! The apprentice settled down in a sunny patch of sunlight, feeling the warmth against their fur, making a cozy atmosphere for them.
