"C-Come on.. we're so close, don't give up on me now.." Creepingpaw huffed through gritted teeth as the lean yet brawny apprentice shouldered the weight of his battered mentor Lavendersong, who struggled to keep herself up as she winced silently through the pain with every step.
In the far outer distance of Thunderglade, peaking just over the rolling hills of flowers and tall weeds, the silver and black figures of Creepingpaw and Lavendersong loomed over the horizon as the pair trudged their way through the familiar terrain.
The pair were not in great shape. Creepingpaw, feeling the fatigue from lack of rest and adequate food, began to shake under the weight of his mentor as he gasped, ”O-Okay... let's take a break.. e-easy now..." The silver and black striped apprentice began gently lowering Lavendersong to the floor as he pressed his weight onto her to ease her descent.
Evidently, Lavendersong was far more exhausted and beaten. Having been rescued by her apprentice from the brink of death, the once vibrant and radiant warrior with tenderness in her eyes was reduced to a shell of her former self. Holding her head and dulled gaze low, Lavendersong's slender black frame folded beneath her as she gave in to her weariness and collapsed gently to the ground. Creepingpaw, lifting himself back up to visually survey their surroundings for any signs of patrol or danger, caught a quick glance at the long rake of claw marks that ran diagonally over the front of Lavendersong's neck and almost down to her chest. Creepingpaw's whisker's twitched as his eyes briefly flashing pangs of guilt and sorrow before he went back to his task at hand, lifting his head to smell the air and visually scan the area.
Lavendersong's chest rose and fell with every rhythmic breath as she gazed into the distance, but at nothing in particular. Losing herself in the swarming thoughts, from everything she had experienced during her disappearance, to worrying about Brackenclaw, Raggedear, the Clan... and what they would think.
"...y..you should.. just leave me.." Lavendersong rasped suddenly in a defeated tone, the once sweetness in her voice now strained and meek from the grueling journey.
Hearing this, the once tired and serious look across the apprentice's face dropped to mild annoyance, "HUH?! Don't be mouse brained! I didn't break Clan Code to leave and rescue you for nothing!" Creepingpaw spat in irritation, ears flattened as he turned back towards Lavendersong to gently nudge her to her paws.
Brackenclaw- He/Him, 29 moons old, Thunderclan Hornet. Purrks: Just a Scratch.
Brackenclaw had gone out on his own into the Forest. Brackenclaw wasn't sure why but he just felt like being alone. The once proud and stoic Maine Coon had ran into something of a confidence issue of late he felt like all he had tried to do for the clan had fallen apart. Still Brackenclaw would need to continue he couldn't give up now not when the clan needed strength most of all. Brackenclaw however while out would happen to scan the distant horizon as if anything would come of it. Surprisingly enough it would. Brackenclaw noticed two silhouette's out in the distance he would strain to see it before realizing with a start that it was Lavendersong and her apprentice. He would run out to meet them not caring about if they weren't inside Thunderclan borders instead he would just run towards them. "You two! Are you okay!?" The huge Maine Coon would ask he was shocked to see them to be honest thinking they were gone forever! "Thunderclan thinks you guys are dead! I-I thought you were dead Lavendersong! We found blood where you were and couldn't find you even when we tried tracking you down. What happened?!?!" Brackenclaw would ask trying to make sense of the situation. Brackenclaw however knew that the condition Lavendersong was in wasn't one that was fit for her to answer. He would have to ask these things later. Brackenclaw however, could take over helping Lavendersong the rest of the way home. @twizzypaw

Nosing his way under one of Lavendersong's shoulder's to drape her front paw over his body and support her weight, Creepingpaw coaxed his shaky montor to her paws before lifting his gaze at the sudden distant sounds pawsteps racing towards them. And within moments, like a merciful apparition from StarClan, the sight of Brackenclaw dashing in the distance sent waves of relief over Creepingpaw. The apprentice's bright emerald eyes lit up in excitement as he nearly forgot he was supporting Lavendersong's weight, resisting the urge to leap with joy. Finally, they were home at last!
"Brackenclaw!" The silver egyptian mau cried out, his tail lashing from sheer happiness, "We're okay for the most part... but we gotta get Lavendersong some help." Creepingpaw purred as his tone shifted downward, glancing down at the battered Lavendersong who was absolutely dumbfounded.
She couldn't believe her eyes. As soon as that familiar, powerful voice rang through the air, Lavendersong knew right away but couldn't believe it. Her misty grey eyes that were once lifeless and dead were now as wide as the full moon, as if she were looking at a ghost. The entire time, Lavendersong thought that because she had gotten lost, that everyone was gone. The alluring she cat simply stared at the hornet as he spoke, listening intently but unable to answer, feeling as though her breath had been taken away. The mixture of the adrenaline from shock and her exhaustion gave way as she felt herself fall into Brackenclaw's fur and collapsing into his frame but remaining conscious. Pressing her maw into the nape of his neck, Lavendersong mumbled a soft purr as she did her best to conceal the tears that began pooling in her ivory eyes, I-I... I'm sorry.." The black maine coone mewed weakly.
Creepingpaw, a look of concern plastered over his face for his mentor, padded to her other side so that she would be supported on both sides and remained silent.
Brackenclaw- He/Him, 29 moons old, Thunderclan Hornet. Purrks: Just a Scratch.
Brackenclaw would listen to Lavendersong and shake his head. "Nothing for you to apologize you couldn't help what happened. Come on we should get you to camp there Wolfhawk can look at you." Brackenclaw would meow making sure she knew she wasn't at fault. Brackenclaw would help them back to camp slowly but surely. As they got closer he would ask Creepingpaw to do something. "Could you go find Spiderthroat or someone to help us? Lavendersong is gonna need Medical Attention. Also you should also get checked out." Brackenclaw would ask the Apprentice for help in finding someone who can help him better. @twizzypaw (Sorry this took a bit.)

(<3 No worries at all!!)
Lavendersong, lifting her head slightly to gaze up at Brackenclaw upon hearing his response, stared with deep longing in her pale eyes. She longed to tell him everything, but the strength in her body was dwindling as she lowered her gaze to watch her pawsteps. The duo had made the decision to travel as nonstop as they could for safety, with Lavendersong paying the price for it through fatigue. The once glossy and well-kempt she cat, now dusted and worn out from the painful journey, leaned into Brackenclaw for support while Creepingpaw walked beside her for balance.
Creepingpaw’s ears flicked at the sound of Brackenclaw’s request as his vibrant green eyes briefly glimmered with worry. They were closer to camp afterall and it made sense to call for backup. But the young apprentice was hesitant on leaving Lavendersong’s side ever again. Creepingpaw nodded silently in compliance at the hornet’s orders, however protective he felt, and dashed away silently towards camp without a moment to spare.
Realizing that they were waiting for help to arrive, Lavendersong slowly lowered herself back onto her haunches and sat while continuing to lean on Brackenclaw. “We… h-have a lot to catch up on… don’t w-we?” She purred delicately as she looked back up to try and meet his gaze, the tonality of her voice as sweet as ever. But there was no denying the pain behind it all. Her eyes rippled like a pearlescent pool of sadness; it’s waves reaching desperately for Brackenclaw, to comfort him and be comforted in this sea of turmoil.

Brackenclaw couldn't help seeing the she-cat in so much pain he would walk over towards her and lay next to her his fur comfortingly pressing against the cat. "I'm sure we do but for now you should save your strength." Brackenclaw would mew his usual dark and deep intimidating voice laced with concern. Brackenclaw was trying to think how he should explain all that happened including the death of quite a few cats while they weren't able to get the cure back to them.

The black maine coon smiled sheepishly as Brackenclaw reassured her with his deep baritone voice laced in comfort. As she adjusted herself to sink into his frame, Lavendersong winced slightly as she glanced down at the claw mark scar that dragged across and down her neck and chest. Giving the mark several long strokes to ease the soreness, the she-cat glanced up at Brackenclaw and smiled as she tried to hide the pain when her eyes suddenly widened upon remembering their third member in the journey, “W-Wait, where is Raggedear? Is he alright?”

Brackenclaw would nod. "You could say that. He is now a hornet like me. We ended up getting the cure back to Thunderclan. To do so we had to make a deal with a group in the Mountains we helped them kill a cat that was huge made me look like a kit they called it a cougar. In exchanged they allowed us to talk to a cat that knew the cure. However... well... Thunderclan wasn't without it's losses with the plague... 11 cats passed among them was Redhawk and... and Wolfhive... Risingstorm was named the new head hornet. We were only hours late to save Wolfhive too... it caused Bumblestar a lot of pain she's kinda a mess at the moment." Brackenclaw would meow explaining the current events that had played out. @twizzypaw

Batting her lashes as he spoke, her weary expression briefly lit up at the wonderful news regarding Raggedear. However, the light in her eyes dimmed once more as she winced upon hearing about the casualties as a result of the plague. Lavendersong’s black ears flattened against her head as her melancholic gaze fell to her paws. The seed of guilt was sprouting, and how could it not?! Had she been quick enough to dodge that sinkhole, resilient enough to find her way back after getting swept away, and strong enough to face the pack of wild dogs that attacked… she couldn’t muster a response to Brackenclaw, and remained motionless with a look of panic and defeat strewn across her alluring face. How could she possibly face Thunderclan again?
