Leechscar's ears stood straight at attention as he led the way out of camp. He'd glance over his shoulder to ensure Cottonpaw was on his tail. His mind drifted towards a chatty, sneezy ginger apprentice who should have been with them. He hadn't been aware of how attached he had gotten to the annoying apprentice until she wasn't around any longer.

Leechscar was quiet as his long legs moved through the general territory to their first destination. "This," he meowed, climbing up the steep hillside to the meadow at the peak. "Is the Starry Meadow. It's where we bury our clanmates that have passed." Leechscar's tail sweeps toward the mounds of dirt hidden beneath wilting flowers.

"We do not hunt here to honor our dead unless it is an emergency. Our clanmates' bodies rest here, but their spirits go up there," He raised his nose to the sky. "To StarClan." Leechscar wasn't sure how familiar the tom was with clan religion. Leechscar knew enough to be a competent mentor but didn't care much for the dead or spirits. They've never given him much of a reason to care for them.

Cottonpaw followed after Leechscar with a rather pleasant spring in his step. He was excited to be venturing out further, learning more about their lands. Once they reached their first destination the youngster stood and took it all in.

Starry Meadow, a burial ground. But it didn’t feel like haunted ground, instead a place strangely at peace. A final resting point before they left to join the stars. He liked to think his siblings had joined Starclan, even if they never really knew about it before they passed.

”D.does every cat g.g.get the chance to go t.to Starclan? E.even if they d.don’t know about it?” He couldn’t help the question falling out of his mouth. Besides this was what mentors were for, right?

Well, that was an interesting question. "I don't think you can go to a place you don't know about." He replied with a thought tilt of his head. "Besides, assuming that the ancestors are as touchy about their territory as they were when they were alive, I don't think cats who don't belong among the clans are welcome to the stars." Leechscar shrugged his broad shoulders.

"But I can't say that certain, I've never been to StarClan. If you're interested in who can and can't go there I'd talk to one of the medicine cats. They're supposed to communicate with StarClan." It takes him a moment to realize why Cottonpaw was asking about who could and couldn't go to StarClan. Sometimes it was hard to recall that the kid had an outsider background.

"Any more questions or are you ready to go?"

Cottonpaw seemed to take Leechscar’s response relatively on the chin, perhaps there was another place for the non-believers or for those who simply didn’t know about Starclan. He’d be sure to ask Miss Lightningstorm when he had the time to spare.

His head nodded, "I'm r.ready!" He'd like to see the rest. Leechscar’s knowledge was rather useful. It was interesting to learn about the history behind a certain piece of land.
