Vinesmoke padded up to Crowtooth, his blue eyes wide with unease. The blood on Crowtooth’s fur made him flinch, though he tried to hide it behind a quick glance. His voice came out in a nervous rush as he glanced around the clearing, still processing the chaos of the night. “Crowtooth… I—are you okay?” Vinesmoke's tail flicked anxiously behind him. “I—I know you’re strong, but you look…” He swallowed, his words catching.
“I mean, there’s just so much going on, and I’m not sure what to think about any of it.” His blue eyes flicked back to the blood on Crowtooth’s pelt, then to the warrior’s face, full of questions. “The rebellion... It’s over, right? But—what exactly happened? I—I don’t understand how it all started. Was it just Sunheart, or were there more cats involved? And what about the others who might’ve been with him?” His voice dropped to a whisper. “How do we know we can trust everyone now, Crowtooth? How do we know it’s really over?” He shifted uneasily, waiting for the deputy’s response, his nerves fraying at the edges. Deadmoon he would need to find her soon he knew she was there but first he needed details

oh no, twillystar was mad about something. which, of course, has egretpaw skedaddling in the direction of the galewood. admittedly, she has little to no idea what exactly a rebellion is. however, considering twillystar doesn't sound happy at all (which maybe has her shaking in her paws, just a bit), she doesn't think it's good. she does know what exiled means, though! which, uh...wasn't sunheart exiled awhile ago? she can't remember clearly, but she's pretty sure. but, if sunheart is exiled - has been exiled...what the heck is he doing leading a rebellion? whatever that is.

uncle crows killed 'im? huh?, egretpaw wonders, face scrunching up in confusion. to her knowledge, killing someone was simply beating them up real bad. just like she did with those dastardly evilclan warriors! aka, mossballs. she as an inkling of doubt, though, that killing in this situation didn't mean simply beating up sunheart. this has her sending a glance her uncle's way (what was that stuff on his face?), before turning her attention back to twilightstar. according to her, sunhearts friends were exiled. two of them were 'paws, just like her brothers and she is. and they thought twillystar was bad? that's just silly! I ain't ever seen miss twillystar be mean to any apprentices or anythin', the tabby thinks.

egretpaw's tail twitches as the leader addresses the whole clan, and she looks on either side of her to look at her clanmates. she can't imagine any of them going out of their way to go against twilightstar. she's had nothing but positive interactions with all of her clanmates so far. actually, she pretty much considered all of them her friends. with twillystar walking off, egretpaw makes a bee line for her uncle, aiming to affectionately bump her head against his foreleg. she scrunches her nose, catching a whiff of the unpleasant smell lingering. whatever was staining his fur a darker shade stinks, and she doesn't like it one bit at all. she likes it when he smells like dust and dirt, thank you! however, she doesn't wanna be rude and tell uncle crows he stinks, cause that'd just be mean. her facia expression probably shows it, though.

"uncle crows, what's that stuff in your fur? ya look sticky," she wonders, tilting her head. she's half tempted to give him a poke, but decides against it. for some reason, vinesmoke looks real nervous - almost like he's scared. she thinks he's a little silly for asking if crowtooth of all cats is okay. "'course uncle crows is okay!! he could probably beat up, like..uhhm ..a gabillion-zillion bad guys!! 'sides he ain't missin' anymore bits." well, she thinks so.

A pained look crossed Crowtooths face at the sight of Vinesmokes flinch, and hunching himself smaller the intimidating tom did his best to appear non threatening despite his blood soaked appearance. He had no regrets in killing Sunheart as brutally as he did, he wouldnt have regretted killing the other traitors as well, even if they'd once been clanmates. But it was only now, seeing the looks on so many faces did he realize the flip side to it all. In his drive to keep windclan safe he'd revealed that he could be unsafe to a clan that generally thought him a harmless goof.

Crowtooth didnt like that, he loved windclan more then anything and the idea that he could be feared for more then his occasional spot of firey temper....


The deputy sighed, hetrochromatic eyes casting over his battered pelt. "Im ok Vinesmoke. Will be sore as anythin' tomorrow an' I think that one gash on my leg will scar but whats one more fer the pile." That much was true, Crowtooth was covered with scars from a long life in battle, one more did not worry him.



Catching sight of a little form wandering over the toms eyes widen before his expression fell a bit, realizing his niece might have her first clash with a harsh reality. "Hey Egretpaw... Its, well its blood, yanno the thing that comes outta ya when Strawberrypaw bites too hard. Its mostly not mine its....." The skunk striped tom hesitated a bit before deciding to answer Vinesmokes question with her here and not sugar coat it.




"Well I think it started 'cuz Sunheart was mad I exiled 'im. Dunno how but he started spreadin' falsehoods that Twi is a tyrant an' cruel an' the like, that takin' 'er an' me down was righteous.



Horrible lies o' course, but he convinced Tigerfur, Ottercold, Ferretpaw, Mistypaw, an' Rootpaw o' it an' they'd gathered ta.... Well make it come true. We got lucky an' caught them before they could do somethin' awful but it became a fight an'.... Well The others were backin' down like cowards, unwillin' ta back up their words but Sunheart wasnt. He was too dangerous ta the clan ta let live.
The rest we're exiled, even if they were manipulated they should know better about Twi an' us so.....


I dunno if there's more. I dunno how Sunheart even got in all these cats ears while already exiled but I just hope wit'out the snake they're rendered helpless. I dont wanna do this again."
A low sigh, so much of this was still unknown given none of the so called rebels wished explain anything and the random shadowclan cat Twilightstar didnt seem inclined to talk about only confused things more. The motives of everyone BUT Sunheart just didnt make sense! They should know more then the blatant lies they were told but they were willing to turn against their leader for what?



"Be wary, keep an' ear out but dont be afraid Vinesmoke. Anyone who follows this fool is brainless an' likely a coward, so not much o' a threat, more an annoyance.


That said Egretpaw Im stealin' ya an' yer siblin's if I can catch 'em fer battle trainin' soon. Not tomorrow I think Im gonna be too sore ta walk tomorrow but soon. Better safe."
The thought of his niece defenseless with potentially more snakes lurking... Not ok, especially if one had a rare moment of intelligence to use her against him.

A rebellion, Cottonpaw just didn’t understand it. Why would they want to go against Twilightstar, she was kind and thoughtful. She kept the clan properly together, looked after us all. Cottonpaw’s ears flattened to his head.

He wanted to ask their deputy questions but didn’t want to make himself into a nuisance with all the others crowding around. Maybe mama would know more.

He took a moment, ears catching wind of Twilightstar calling together the clan, and then walking from the stores to the surface. And at first the feline had simply assumed they were having another really close to the last one meeting. But… oh dear. Rabbitpaw’s green eyes widened as he heard Twilightstar’s recount of some sort of rebellion? For what? There had been a fight, that much was obvious, it was planned though, given Miss Lightningstorm was brought along the patrol.

It didn’t make him any less anxious when he caught sight of Crowtooth talking to Vinesmoke and Egretpaw, covered in blood. His mind flashed the image of his mother in his mind, when she was picked up by the owl. He wasn’t sure why, Quailheart hadn’t been bloody, not that much, and logically Rabbitpaw knew that Crowtooth was fine if he was chatting rather than being brought to the med den… but regardless, Rabbitpaw’s breaths quickened and heart started to jump with fear.

“Dad!” Rabbitpaw half shouted as he raced from the medicine den entrance towards Crowtooth, paying half a mind to not bump into people along the way. “Are you okay? Are you hurt? How’s your breathing? You’re alright, right? I-” A million and one thoughts were racing through his mind all at once. And maybe if he took a moment he would’ve heard Crowtooth’s reassurances himself. He wasn’t dying. Rabbitpaw wasn’t sure why his brain seemed to hop straight to the worse case scenario, but it was what happened.

Stumbelkit looked up at his leader proudly from the entrance of the nursery, wobbling in utter excitement. He seemed to love these kinds of announcements. Serves them right for trying to usurp their leader! His aunt, Chickadeeswivel, was a lot less excited. "Oh dear. Those poor apprentices..." She murmured. She knew she shouldn't say such things, but she felt so bad for them. "Selfish grown cats involved them in something they never should have been apart of."

"Strength in... me?" She echoed, looking at the tom in disbelief. She cracked an apologetic smile, digging her paws into the ground anxiously. "I think you've got the wrong cat. There's nothing special about little old Chickadeeswivel." She ducked her head, embarrassed at the high praise Stormcrest was giving her, still feeling his gaze on her pelt. She grew self concious. Was her fur tidy? Was the dried sunflower she wore wilted from the cold? "Really, you've got the got the wrong cat." She repeated, "Believe me, if I was any more special that anyone else, I think it would show by now. But... Thank you. For the compliments. It was refreshing to hear someone believe in me, even for a moment.
