Inferno kept looking, pupils squinted. He wasn't becoming crazy, he was feeling something or someone looking at them...
He couldn't imagine that, there was no way, he was living for enough time in the Outskirts to know when he was making up something.
His brain barely registered what the Medicine Cat said, and even if he was completely focused on trying to spot what was spying them, his brain couldn't help but give a snarky remark he luckily held for himself, tho it resonnated in his head.
'Great, and how am I supposed to call your name if I don't know it?'
He blinked one time, realizing what he just thought.
'Just ask silly!'
He just stayed silent one or two more seconds before answering.
"Feels like someone is watching. Lived enough time in the Outskirts to trust those gut feelings."
The tom responded flatly, fully focused on the line of bushes.
['k! Was a little surprised that Fish didn't respond first, but I know why now!

Well someone had a stronger intuition than most. This was bothersome to Bickern but she slowly walked out of the bush towards the too but kept a healthy distance between the two. "Aren't you a smarty." She said with no enthusiasm. "I always observe before I approach, its really how I lasted out here all this time." It was certainly helpful when she adventure all over the place, while lacking an eye. Though she knew the ticking time bomb of staying hidden when the others are on edge. This group seemed safe enough to approach rather than get away from.
"Both of you are clan cats, yet you are all out here. Life finding you well? Any desire to go back?" Despite trying to not seem too interested she was wanting to know what was going on. Maybe perhaps soothe a hurting soul or two. The lives of others were so interesting..
It bothered Lark how quickly these outsiders had pegged her for a former Clanner. Was there some sort of tell that she was unaware of? Logically, they should have no way of knowing, unless they'd seen her among ShadowClan's ranks. She had been out in the wilderness for almost four moons now, she'd not even gone near the ShadowClan border recently - or any Clan border, for that matter. So it wasn't scent, either, because on a regular basis, Lark smelled more of herbs than anything else. Right now was an exception, since her body was still complaining about the dose of nightshade she'd ingested, and she'd just emptied the content of her stomach not far off.
Inferno had rather good instincts apparently, because his guess had been correct. The large orange she-cat who approached set Lark on edge, but her stance relaxed outwardly, fogged-over gaze fixed somewhere over the burned she-cat's shoulder. (She was 'blind', after all). Why not play the part? Lark was tall and lithe, but she'd always been towered above by ShadowClanners, so both the dark-furred tom at her side and the newcomer being taller wasn't that off-putting. Being shorter didn't make her any less of a threat, after all.
Though... if there was one thing she particularly disliked, it was being ganged up on. With the scent of another stranger carrying on the wind, Lark stepped back, ears swiveling towards the sound of footsteps. She had no inclination to answer Bickern's questions, anyway. And while she was more willing to place her trust in Inferno (because she'd threatened to kill him if he attacked her, and if he didn't, she owed him a favor. a girl had to have priorities, alright?), a timely departure was due, it seemed.
Unluckily for her, the lake was behind her (her hindleg sinking into the cold water reminded her of this fact), and while she was fortunate enough to know how to swim, it would leave her out in the open too long - and at threat of being spotted by the upwalker pet dog frolicking not far off. Bleeding burning skies.
He eyed the newcomer with attentive eyes, emitting a low growl of annoyance. Yet another cat... Tssk...
He didn't particularily like the fact that it was becoming crowded. If a fight would start, it would a free for all. And he wasn't particularily thrilled about having to watch two cats at the same time... Especially if he could get jumped by both of them at the time.
Oh, and let's not forget the dog and the Twoleg. They could be a huge annoyance. He had several options. He couldn't fall back, lake was behind him.
A low growl of annoyance escaped him a second time... Well, looks like he had to play it confident.
"Well well... You should know that spy on other's private discussions isn't polite hmm?"
Said the tom with a flat tone as he took a little step forward, digging his claws in the dirt.
Inferno then tilted his head, a slight grin appearing on his face.
"Oh, you're telling me the secret of survival is watching from the sidelines? Brilliant strategy. I'm sure it's super effective in keeping you safe... and totally not making you a sitting duck. I bet that it's your intense stares that kill the mouses."
He would totally ask for a complete description of the cat's tactic of survival... Yeah... He couldn't help the sarcastic answer that escaped him. A way for him to evacuate his annoyance a tad bit.
The she-cat was really giving him deja-vus with the way she was speaking... Ah yes, that one scammer.
"I would rather like you to avoid calling me clan cat, I'm not particularily thrilled of wearing the title. Well, at least not anymore."
He gave a quick glance to the Med Cat that was apparently looking for a way to leave as quickly as she could.
"I don't know for 'miss-try-to-leave-not-so-subtly-and-who's-name-I-don't-know' by my side, but that stands for me."
Indicated Inferno, just as his ears caught wind of footsteps in the distance.
Oh COME ON! Another cat? Inferno bit the inside of his cheek. Yeah, it was becoming too crowded.
[@Rose @Fish @Diamondfur ; Yeah... So... Please don't take what I said seriously, Inferno's temper is a tad... Well... Easily annoyed and prone to beeing aggressive... And he hates crowds... So once again, sorry if you felt offended.]

Sheesh no wonder some of these cats were loners, they didn't even know how to talk to others without sounding like they were about to rip your throat out. "First of all..." Brickern looked to Inferno with an uninterested look. "I don't think I have to be the one to tell you why its a good idea to size up other cats before approaching them, and I'll let you guess my hunting tactic with me still having flesh on my bones." Some of these cats need mothers it felt like. Someone to tell them they were acting like an ill behaved kitten. Perhaps this cat had no battle prowess sense at all and only won fights by accident. Suppose she hadn't thought of that one.
Then a cat came in with claws out... "Honey... No one is throwing claws, please put those away." She sighed. If this came to a fight over some misguided protectiveness Brickern wouldn't be made, she would just be disappointed.
