Mosspaw tried not to gag at the thought of eating frogs. "Cool?" she said.

"Huh. Tensions." she said, staring at where the borders lay.


Mosspaw honestly didn't know what to say in response to the burial grounds. She just followed her mentor, her pawsteps light and gentle and her tail swaying behind her.

Primroseadder fell silent as they reached Seagrass Fields, her eyes betraying her thoughts and flicking over to the fresh graves that Stormstar and Sedgeflake were buried beneath.

“Let’s…Let’s take a moment of silence, all right? To honor the fallen.”

Mosspaw didn't even reply. She laid down, resting her head on her paws, and closed her eyes as a show of respect and honor for the dead.

After a couple of heartbeats, Primroseadder gently nudged Mosspaw to her paws. “Let’s get going, Mosspaw. I still have to show you Lionsbeach.”

The she-cat started off toward the shore and its tides, glancing over her shoulder to be sure that her apprentice was following her. She stopped at the edge of the forest, her forepaws just touching the edge of the sand.

Spanning most of the beach and rocky shoreline beside the Clans, Lionsbeach covers the area of sand and ocean that runs behind Seastones.

While fishing here isn't much of an option, RiverClan cats can find shellfish, crabs, and lobsters occasionally dotting the coastline. Dead fish are also common and, if recent, can be brought back to camp as an easy meal. Gulls and herrings can also be hunted as they scavenge for food.

“Welcome to Lionsbeach,” Primroseadder mewed to Mosspaw, gesturing to the sandy span of terrain and water before them. “While it isn’t the best place for prey, it’s known for its formidable sunsets.”

Mosspaw gaped at the magnificent beach. She didn't dare go near the water, as it was chilly. A brisk wind blew through her fur

Primroseadder’s whiskers twitched with amusement as she took in the look on Mosspaw’s face. However, she said nothing, instead turning back to head deeper into RiverClan territory.

“And last, but certainly not least, the general territory,” She gestured to the undergrowth around them with her maw. “This is where most of the hunting and fishing happens. Since we have enough time left over, I can take ya to the training hollow and get you caught up on some hunting basics. Would ya like that?”

"Sure," Mosspaw said. She spun around, secretly picking up a huge seashell. She trotted after her mentor.

Primroseadder nodded and headed for the training hollow. Once they arrived, she started giving out instructions.

“Show me your best hunting crouch, Mosspaw.”

Mosspaw crouched down, her tail moving, ears twitching, and her position VERY unnatural and bad. "Is this good?" she asked, her haunches high in the air

Primroseadder winced visibly, her ears lowering against her head. She stepped forward and pushed Mosspaw’s tail down gently with a paw until it was just above the ground.

“Stop moving your tail and lower your haunches,” She instructed, leaning down to nudge her apprentice’s hind paws closer toward her belly. “Keep your hind paws tucked close to your belly; it will add more power to your spring whenever you’re ready to do so.”

Okay, so maybe Mosspaw would need a few training sessions on hunting before she could move on to swimming. That, Primroseadder could do.
