Blackberrybat watched the cats of his clan go about their days in the clearing before looking around for someone to bother into a hunting patrol.

Pondlily emerged from the warriors’ den with a yawn, rubbing away the sleepiness from her river-blue eyes with a blue-gray forepaw. Her gaze landed on one of her former mentor’s kits, Talonkit, and she called her over.

“Hey, Talonkit! Come here for a moment, would ya?”

Hornetpaw sat in the clearing. He wondered what to do and realized his confinement was over. He could leave camp...with an warrior. Hornetpaw waited for a warrior to come near him so he could ask to go hunt with them.

QuietStep was padding around camp to get some air, He then noticed a young apprentice sitting in the clearing. In curiosity, he trotted up to the apprentice, "Hello, may I ask what you are doing here? Don't you do training or something?" He didn't make eye contact with the apprentice, to avoid an awkward conversation..

Owlthroat’s ears flickered attentively as he listened into Flytail’s words, he felt himself echoing his smile. It would certainly be entertaining to see him desperately trying to impress Bristlethorn. Floundering in romantic efforts.

Flytail’s words were comforting, an unusually soft moment of care between the two. It was confirmation he had needed, but had been unwilling to ask for. He’d been showing up in the ways that mattered, not turning tail and running. Not cowardly or shrewd, he’d been strong. Delivered on his promises.

”C’mon then, you wanna come be an uncle?” His sarcastic tone slipping through in self-mockery. How soppy, could never be them. They were of course the two hardest nuts Shadowclan had to offer. His teasing grin cut across his face as he awaited a response.

Cougarpaw tumbled from the apprentices’ den, her head and tail held high. She was looking for her mentor—Brightstripe—eyes scanning the clearing. She spotted the black warrior and bounced over.

“BRIGHTSTRIIIIIPE!” Cougarpaw squealed, bouncing on her paws around the older she-cat. “When is my training going to start?”
