Wildfoxglove heard Seabreeze announcing something about a hunting event. She quickly trotted to where the cats were gathering. Wildfoxglove wanted to help hunt for her clan. This event was very important since it meant less hardship if they succeeded.

A hunting event? There had been quite a few lately, but then it was leaf-bare. RiverClan needed all the fresh-kill they could get. With that thought in mind, Irisfrost padded towards the slowly gathering crowd. It was time to catch some prey.

The short molly listened to Seabreeze's call with growing interest. Just one look at the prey pile could tell anycat that they needed more food. Badly. Moving camps must have messed with the leaf-bare prep. A small determined half-smile curved her face. The clan needed food, so she would just have to help get it for them. Besides she couldn't think of a better thing to lift the spirits of her clanmates than full bellies. She paced forward nodding briefly in Seabreeze's direction to acknoledge her call. A nice full day of work would be more than welcomed. Especially when the alternative would be to sit around and starve.

Seabreeze was pleased with the turn out of the event so far. Enough warriors to outweigh the apprentices which was good in case the necessity of teaching arised, and then lots of warriors that he could trust with such a task. No offense, he just would rather assign warriors he knew would follow through if teaching became necessary. He scanned the crowd, counting, and then finally opened his mouth to separate the crowd into more manageable size.

“Right, the first group will be led by Caveclaw and Splashleap, accompanying them will be Shallowpaw, Shadowpaw, Willowtail, Junipersong, Saltbug, and Irisfrost. You folks will be going to general territory. I will be running between groups, but that’s still territory I will be running so the leaders will help keep an eye out on making sure people stay within the group.” He ended with a brief explanation, it was basically the same thing as leading a patrol.

“The second group will be hunting at Seagrass Fields, and be sure to be respectful to those buried, the leads will be Stagheart and Wildfoxglove. With them will be Almondchatter, Lavenderheart, Songwave, Salamanderpaw, and Soaringpaw.” He looked at each of the cats as he listed them before continuing onto the final group. He almost named Rowanmane one of the leaders, before a second thought he gave the former lionheart a look.

“The final group will be going to Lionsbeach, and will be led by Spiraltail and Whiterose. With them are Rowanmane, Wisteriawren, Duskpaw, and Stonepaw. The beach tends to lack prey, especially around this season so I will be sending less cats with you.” It was already difficult to catch things, but without birds there were less than ever. Seabreeze remained where he was for a moment more, “I should’ve got everything but if I missed someone or anyone has any questions ask them. If not, leads feel free to lead towards your assigned areas.”

So she'd be leading with Splashleap into the territory, with Shallowpaw, Shadowpaw, Willowtail, Junipersong, Saltbug and Irisfrost.
Simple enough.

Caveclaw glanced around, quickly finding a place to wait for the other cats.
She already noticed Willowtail, so she walked over to her, and gave a nod in greeting.

So apparently her and Caveclaw were sort of in charge. Perks of being old, or whatever. Stars, Splashleap was older than Seabreeze and Caveclaw and everyone. Probably older than, or just about as old as, Owltalon too. She really needed to get younger, somehow. Or find older cats to hang out with, so she didn't feel so damn ancient all the time. Like a creaking sack of bones, not the youthful cat she still was in her mind. This delusion might get her in trouble at some point, but it had yet to. Splashleap had torn no muscles and broken no hips, so really she might as well be 20 moons. At least that's what she'd keep telling herself.

Willowtail and Caveclaw had already cuddled up, and Splashleap trotted towards them. Hiya! Ready to go when you are, Caveclaw! The other cat was the lionheart after all, might as well let her figure out when/where exactly they were heading to. Then, turning to address the apprentices whenever they made their way over, she inquired Shallowpaw, Shadowpaw, do you two know how to hunt? Or do ya want me to give you a rundown when we get there? She didn't mind teaching the kids quickly, might even be fun, but she needed to know if such education was required first.

Spiraltail looked around spotting a few of the members of his group he knew a few of the cats but never having interacted with the majority of them.

“Ello kid say let’s wait for the rest how much do you know so far on hunting birds?”he asked with a southern draw

Songwave's ears perked up, and a little smile tugged at his muzzle. He generally felt indifferent about hunts or patrols, but when he heard he was grouped up with his mate he felt less disconnected from the moment. The tom gave cheerful 'bwurr' and rubbed his white cheek against Almondchatter's own. A hunt together! What a special occasion.

The warrior waited until Almond got up before heading over to Stagheart and Wildfoxglove.
