Darkleaf doesn't really understand who they are, or what they want. They're a warrior, a ShadowClan warrior at that, but almost a pacifist. Battle scares them, and they run from it, tail between their legs. Slow and ill-coordinated, it's always been too tricky for them. Instead of accepting this truth, they'll happily preach peace and act holier than thou to those who oppose them. It's easy for her to decide those who differ are simply jaded - especially those from her her own past - perhaps those she's failed?

Despite all this, they're a workaholic - a perfectionist. Though, these urges feel as though they're fading. Warrior life is unfullfilling, and she feels a disconnect from the clan. As though she's not meant to be there. They don't know what's going wrong.

Soo I was already planning on Darkleaf leaving ShadowClan once they've finished training their current apprentice, Lightningpaw [see: her finder] - the initial plan was for her to be drawn away by an outsider/ group of outsiders, but I reckon if Palekiss made their life hazardous enough, they'd run from the clan in hope of safety. Maybe she'd decide she's cursed??

She can die, or she can live! Whatever's most interesting/ fun :3c
