Newtpaw grinned, his eyes shining. Right, this made sense! Well... He paused, giving his ear a twitch. It'd be okay if he asked a question, right? Surely. What if a cat lunges for your belly? He mewed, tilting his head. And you don't have time to cover up? This was a decent question, in his eyes. He was pretty sure he knew the answer, based off of what he learned.

The apprentice was smart ask that - "most of the time, to reach your belly, a cat will have to pin you. Once you're there, your best bet is to use your back paws to lash out. You'll need to claw at their belly before they can get to yours." He stopped, considering some other possible scenarios. "If you're stood up, and they reach for your belly with their claws, you can always bite their leg. Or their neck, whilst it's exposed. After all, it's life or death for both of you. Don't be afraid to be ruthless."

Alright. Time to see what he'd learnt. He was a little intrigued, he didn't know much of Newtpaw, but if he kept learning fast, he could become quite a promising warrior. Only time would tell. Newtbelly began to slink towards him, quickly lashing out with one paw - claws remaining sheathed, to ensure he didn't actually harm the apprentice.

The paw pushed his head down, causing him to pause for a moment. Newtpaw had acted quickly, using what he'd learnt - the warrior was impressed. But would he be able to continue acting so sharp? Newtbelly began to move to the left, attempting to knock Newtpaw over.

Newtpaw did well to study himself, but his lack of retaliation left Newtbelly with an opening. He continued to attempt to pin him from the side - he figured the size difference would make it easy, but maybe Newtpaw would have a quick idea?
