Redsurge nodded to her patrolmates and began to mimic Deerspark, rubbing her cheek across the branches of a nearby gorse bush on the RiverClan side of the border. She later rubbed her pelt across a fallen tree.
[ do y'all have any interesting plot ideas for this patrol because uh i would like for this not to be normal in some way ]

Something was coming their way. Honeystep braced for a surprise attack, to then see a 'Thunderclan' kitten already across the border and running to them like this patrol was their mother. The whole collective. Honeystep let out a sight and went to pick the kit up by the scruff before it ran into anything that would actually harm it. Like falling over a stick. "No you don't...!" Honeystep said before trying to scoop them up.

Aspenpaw didn't know anyone else on this patrol except honeystep but then again he was too cold to actually try and get to know anyone. The quicker this patrol ended the better! Aspenpaw hadn't been to the thunderclan border yet and wasn't sure exactly what he was looking for but when the came to a halt and Deerspark awkwardly told them what to do he assumed the must have arrived. Trudging through the snow, he marked his scent along trees and jutting rocks and anything he thought could work as a scent marker.
He stopped in his tracks when a sharp scent hit his nose, it wasn't riverclan that was for sure! Aspenpaws fur spiked up and he shot around prepared to face whatever was attacking the patrol with unsheathed claws only to find honeystep holding an unknown kit. Trespasser? Aspenpaw wasn't sure exactly how he should react. He couldn't attack a kit but it was a trespasser Soooo he wasn't supposed to friendly with it right? "what are you doing on riverclan territory?" he hissed keeping the hostility in his voice but sheathing his claws. Trespasser or not he would attack a child

Huh... So far so good.
Nothing had managed to jump out and startle Deerspark so far, a win in his book. So, he continued to trot around the border, his shredded tail low as he relaxed slightly. Good thing there was no need for a lot of instruction when it came to border marking, just a simple process that didn't involve any sense of nuance while still feeling as though he was doing something useful.
He sniffed around for a bit before he paused at a fading scent marker. He swiftly rubbed his cheek across it before leaving it completely, looking for something else. Well... If there anything else to mark. Maybe he just wasn't sniffing hard enough? Awh shoot, his mind was like spoiled soup.

It had to be close to time to return right? Honeystep was getting a bit antsy. She marked the border well and was trying her best to not think on it too hard or she was going to need to do it again. "Are... Are we ready to go back soon?" She hated breaking the air.
After checking and rechecking he side of the border, aspenpaw was certain, positive! That the border was thoroughly marked. It wasn't like it was a competition or anything but aspenpaw liked it better when he could scent more riverclan then thunderclan. Once he was certain he did his job well, he approached the rest of the group. Noting one of the other warriors was already heading back he decided to follow them. His paws were starting to freeze off at this point.
"borders marked!" He informed the warrior who was leading the patrol. Confirming he had done his best before trudging through the snow towards camp
