Cottonpaw saw Strawberrykit’s muzzle scrunch, he took her strange ways in his stride. ”I.I know your dad, he taught me a lesson once before when I was about your age.” He grinned sheepishly once more. How could he make Strawberrykit feel more comfortable? Cottonpaw wasn’t the best at this type of thing, he almost related to her more than he’d like to admit to himself.
His words stuttering often coming out jumbled and not quite right, it wasn’t a fun position to be in. Ever. ”I d..don’t blame you for trying to take T..Twilightstar’s nest, it looks really comfy.” The youngster paused thinking about how to string his next words together. ”D..do you like the nursery? My mama, Leopardsong sleeps there”, he’d been meaning to go visit her soon. Tell her all about his most recent adventures. Visiting the border had been scary, but fun all in all. He’d caught his first mouse too.
He wanted to slam himself for being so forgetful, but he always got so wrapped up in his head. A problem of his own making.
Genuine interest sparked in Strawberrykit's gaze as Cottonpaw mentioned knowing Papa. Now that she thought of it, that made sense. Hadn't that one other kit - Strawberrykit could not recall her name right now - taken a lesson with her father as well? And she'd made fun of Snowybreeze's way of speaking. Sky-bue eyes darken with irritation at the recollection of Dina telling her what had happened. That kit had made Seedkit cry, too. Of all cats, Seedkit, whom was the sweetest, most innocent soul to ever exist.
Just like that, the warmth that'd begun to slip into her countenance fizzled out.
Whistlekit. Forget that this kit had told Twilightstar Strawberrykit had been stealing her nest when she'd just been trying to move it to the Nursery for the leader, she had made Seedkit (and Snowybreeze) cry. That was a grudge the tan and white kitten wasn't letting go. Tendrils of emotions bloom in her mind; anger and suspicion and doubt, so brief and unreachable, but none make their appearance on her stoic straight face, moreso because she was unable to express anything besides the flickering sparks inside her.
Believe her, Strawberrykit's attempt at a smile felt like the most out-of-place thing to ever exist - she had tried, and immediately dropped the expression at the uneasy feeling she couldn't yet name that had crept over her. Now, though, Strawberrykit regarded the short-tailed apprentice. She was too focused on something else to respond to his question. "Did you like Snowybreeze?"

"Welcome to camp-" She responded with a gentle put, though was caught off guard at Eaglekit's behavior. The large warrior rose to her paws quickly, brows furrowed. She placed a paw between the two tom-kits, frowning down at them.
"Eaglekit, Settle down, that's no way to treat your littermates, and you also can't make Downkit do anything she doesn't want to, she is her own cat and gets to make decisions for herself" She said, resting her gently tail on Downkit's back.
She gave Hillkit a small nod, he'd done things mostly right, he was rightfully outraged at his sibling's behavior, so she couldn't fault him for anything here. Her green gaze returned Eaglekit, waiting for whatever would happen next.

"FINE!" he growled "th-thank you um miss" downkit stuttered and gave her a friendly purr "sorry about eaglekit he does this all the time to Downkit he always thinks he's better than every one"Hillkit apologized for his brothers behavior
It was time. Crowtooth was walking to his death. This was the end. The walk to the proverbial gallows. Why did he think this was a good idea?
It was time to play with Strawberrykit.
Good starclan he couldnt even recall the tame alternative to 'biting lessons' he'd promised to teach her earlier so he couldnt even default to that! Patrols had just wiped the knowledge from his brain and now he was blanking but had PROMISED to play with her so was trapped!
Crowtooth tried to keep the dread from his face as he lead her to the clearing, internally planning out his pretty little grave plot and the eulogy. 'Crowtooth, a good tunneler, deputy, uncle and friend, loyal to the end. He fought against all foes and had strength until the end, even against the most evil of little raptors.'
"Alrighty kiddo! I promised ya a playtime or lesson or somethin' uuuuuuuhhhh... Did I promise ya tunnelin' lessons, I kinda cant remember so I guess its up ta ya."
Great starclan help him.
Strawberrykit had waited and waited to be called upon, and now she was all but skipping alongside him, attempting to weave between his legs and headbutt him again and again. Truthfully, she was probably just getting in the black and white cat's way. A tripping hazard, which probably, to Crowtooth, looked like another very very evil ploy. To get him to trip and fall down. It wasn't her fault that one drop of the deputy's blood had now made her default to overly affectionate. No seriously, Strawberrykit didn't even purr this loud with her siblings or father.

Tiny, fluffy body vibrating with excitement - her body wanted nurouishment, she just didn't realize what the constant pangs in her stomach were just yet - the tan patched kitten only pauses to fix her unnerving blue stare on the deputy at the sound of his voice. "Tunneling?" That wasn't what he'd offered before. She wanted to bite. Oh, but now he was saying she could pick. Good. "Last time. You said. Come on, how about I teach ya some battle moves." Strawberrykit tilts her head to a 90 degree angle, finally blinking once. "See?"

"Pspsps, whatcha doin'?"
Whiterabbit is neither warm nor supportive companionship for someone undergoing a punishment...but she's here anyhow, asking her pointless questions with as big a smile as her narrow little mug can handle. Part of her knows it's probably a little mean to swing on by and tease but...uhhhhh, that thought goes unheeded because she is too bored to be kind right now.
