A slow death? Adderfang laughs. "Ya want me to have a slow, painful death?" he said, grinning. "You ain't gonna get ta drag me to the oustskirts either. I'll see ya in yer nightmares..." He used his only intact paw and sliced his throat. Death is what he wants. And he always gets what he wants. His body goes limp.

Sunflowerpaw ThunderClan Apprentice
She / Her ; 9 Moons
[ this post takes place before Sunflowerpaw goes to the medicine den! o7 ]
Trigger Warning:This post contains mentions of death, blood / gore, and potential vomiting. If you are sensitive to these topics, advert your eyes.
Sunflowerpaw felt as if she was going to retch. Stars, she wished she could erase her memories. Adderfang. Adderfang raising his only intact paw. Adderfang ripping out his own throat...
Sunflowerpaw's ears flattened, and she took a step back. ''No..'' She whispered. ''Great StarClan, no...''
What kind of cat would do that?!
She glanced at Bumblestar. Then Wolfpaw. Then she took off towards the medicine den with a horrified wail escaping her maw.
Acornfall had been minding his own business casually when his attention was drawn to the commotion. He leapt to his paws, fur bristling, and ready to charge in to protect his sister and apprentice. But Bumblestar beat him to it.
And then Adderfang did them all a favor...
The brown tabby kept his distance, knowing that Wolfpaw needed space to treat injuries and that his paws would only be in the way. But it didn't make him any less frustrated. Tail lashing, ears twitching, he practically had to root himself into place with his claws. His ears flattened, he took a deep breath to try and calm himself down. Should he offer his aid to his leader in disposing the body? Seemed wasteful to have the elders pitch in to bury filth that didn't deserve it. Acornfall was rarely outwardly aggressive, but he was fiercely protective of those he cared about and his clanmates. He would not tolerate others bringing harm to those he cares about. But he also didn't want to approach Bumblestar right now to offer disposing of the crow-food for her, he knew as well as any cat that he risked having his ears clawed if he got to close during such an emotionally charged time.
He padded forward just slightly, positioning himself purposefully to offer her services wherever needed but not getting too close so that he wasn't in the way. His gaze glanced back to the medicine den every now and then, wishing fiercely that there was something more he could do to help. He had a strong need to check in on his kin and apprentice. Mothflame was perfectly capable as a warrior, but Slypaw...he was his responsibility. And he failed him miserably.
He noticed Sunflowerpaw's reaction to the wretched scene before them and felt his heart shatter. A cat so young shouldn't see something so...gruesome. Yes, it was life. But... He turned his eyes back to his leader, not daring to make a suggestion to her. Simply waiting to see what her orders would be, shoving his rage down deep for now. This was not the time, he was needed.

And with his own claws to his throat, Adderfang was dead. Mothflame felt a sadistic smirk make her way onto her face as she watched the monster tear into his own throat, her single dual-coloured eye twinkling with an unreadable excitement.
If only she was the one who'd done it.
Her claws dug into the ground, itching to dig inside of an opponent and claw their fur off. Watching the whole scene unfold excited her in so many more ways than it should have. She turned her head to glance at Sunflowerpaw, who'd ran off wailing to the Medicine Den.
Coward. A dark part of her mind gritted out, momentarily taking over her mentality. A true warrior should not be afraid of spilling blood. Whether it be with their own claws or not.
But despite her horrid thoughts, she kept her tail protectively wrapped around Slypaw, shooting amused glances at Adderfang and Bumblestar.

Re: ThunderClan Clearing
Briarmask
Briarmask was sitting in the usual spot, quietly watching and listening to the chatter of the clearing when suddenly an uproar burst from her fellow clanmates. The next thing she hears are three sickening cracks, the last one just a bit after the other two. Then comes the sound of horrified gasps, exclamations, and a soft thud. She gasped too as she witnessed these events, her stomach feeling queasy and her body trembling slightly. Yes, she's seen plenty of gore in her lifetime, but she still despises it. Though, it seems in this case it may have been deserved. She swiftly gets up and rushes over though, her eyes wide and her legs a little wobbly, but her concern drives her through the crowd nonetheless. Oh dear. Slypaw's eye... he's too young to have to go through such a life-threatening injury. A tear runs down her cheek at the sight before her, what sick foxheart could do such a thing? Her eyebrows furrow as her gaze focuses on the less-than-pretty sight of Adderfang strewn across the ground, she honestly flinches slightly at the gruesome appearance, she used to see him around. Well, one thing's for sure, she'll be glad not to see him ever again. After that thought comes another however, isn't Slypaw Acornfall's apprentice?
Oh... Acornfall. This... would make him sad right? Yeah, she's not smiling. She looks around, darting through the crowd until she finds the face she's searching for. He is sad. Without a second's hesitation, she rushes forward.
"Acornfall," She says, looking up at him with an expression reassembling worry, "Are you okay? Slypaw..."
She trails off, instead touching her nose to his shoulder gently.
"I just hope you know, it's not your fault," She says quietly, hopefully she's being comforting.

Acornfall was startled at the familiar, little voice of Briarmask. He knew it was her before he scented her or saw her, and felt warmth rush through his body from where her nose touched his shoulder. It was like something in him snapped, not in a bad way. Like when a hunter is ultra focused on their prey and steps on a twig, and the snapping sound brings them back to reality right before to tumble into a gorge they hadn't noticed. The moment he turned to look at the rosette spotted she-cat, he felt the rage drain away like an exhale. Replaced now with grief and guilt. He rested his forehead against her's without giving the action much thought. It just felt...natural. He wanted to feel her closeness, her scent giving him strength with each breath he took. He closed his eyes, drinking in the support.
"He's my apprentice Briarmask...I'm supposed to protect him..." He murmured, his voice laced with his pain. And worse, my sister was dragged into it and had to step up in my place. He felt his paws rooted to the area, and almost forgot that the body was there. "I failed him..." He lifted his head as he murmured the words, gazing at Briarmask with determination. "I knew something was up, and I was too slow to act." His voice was soft, barely a mumble by now. He took strength from her presence, but he hoped he wasn't acting...too close? Was that the correct phrasing?
Either way, he turned his gaze back to Bumblestar, now feeling a little more confident. "As Slypaw's mentor, I would like to assist in removing the trash." He meowed, his voice now clear though his lips pulled back in a slight snarl when he referred to Adderfang's body.

Re: ThunderClan Clearing
Briarmask
Briarmask listens quietly, her heart breaking a bit at his words. She wants to shout from the high rock, no, you haven't done anything wrong! But before she could utter a single word, Acornfall draws away, leaving her conflicted. Yes, she wants to be there for him and tell him he's wrong, but another part of her hesitates to intrude. Slypaw isn't her apprentice, he's not family, or someone she's prehaps even spoken much to, so would it really be right to... She shakes her head, this is hardly the time to be doubting herself so much. Acornfall is obviously not okay, it's not like it's some honor dumping a horrendous foxheart outside of camp, it's her duty as a warrior of Thunderclan to offer her services. She has to stop over thinking every choice she makes! So she steps forward too, standing beside Acornfall, he's not going to get rid of her that easily.
"I would also like to offer my services B-Bumblestar, the young shouldn't have to gaze upon t-t-this trash." She says, her little voice loud enough to cut through the noise of her clanmates for once.
She glances at Acornfall and offers him a small smile before turning her head to look at Bumblestar, a more confident expression on her face than usual.

(This post takes place after Slypaw is treated by Wolfpaw) [TW: This post contains mentions of death, suicide, and depictions of corpses. If you are sensitive to these things avert your eyes from this post]
Slypaw exits the medicine den and is met by... an unpleasant sight. Dad's lifeless form. He slowly walks over to the body and sniffs it, the smell of blood and death filling his nose. His expression is blank, any emotions he does have suppressed. He turns to his mentor. "Did Miss Bumblestar do it?", he says, his voice monotone... He feels numb.
