She was too slow. She had only just promised Slypaw she'd protect him, but she couldn't. Mothflame's rage boiled inside of her, and it was obvious. Gritting her teeth, she pushed Slypaw aside gently and took a daring step towards Adderfang, but not before Sunflowerpaw launched her ass at him. Mothflame recoiled, eyes widening for a moment before she regained her composure.
"ADDERFANG! YA HEARD BUMBLESTAR, GO DRAG YER ASS OVER!" Her gaze snapped to Sunflowerpaw, eyes narrowing dangerously. "SUNFLOWERPAW! Don't escalate this situation, you know better! Let Bumblestar take care of it!" She stalked over to nudge the apprentice off of the warrior with her shoulder, not bothering to use her teeth to drag her off. She wasn't trying to escalate this any further, either. But then again, she wasn't sure she was in the right to be bossing them around, but truthfully, she could care less. She shot a concerned look at Slypaw before turning back to the warrior and apprentice.

So that wasn't enough to set her over the edge? Alright. She might just need a bit more convincing... Adderfang suddenly padded just outside of the medicine den, in the clearing where Slypaw and Mothflame are and strikes, clawing right into Slypaw's left eye. That should send her over the edge.

Slypaw doesn't have any time to react. Blood drips down his face... He sat still. Dad... he'd never hurt me like this before... He- he'd only given limited food and scratches... he thought. Blood filled the vison of both his eyes. His ears rang... His breathing quickens to the point of hyperventilation and his whole body shakes... The only noise that escapes his lips is a pitiful whimper.

The fire in Sunflowerpaw's eyes raged as she watched Adderfang claw Slypaw. ''YOU PIECE OF FOX-DUNG!'' With a yowl, she raced past and attempted to launch herself onto Adderfang's back. If she succeeded, she would sink her claws in his shoulders and open deep gashes in his flanks with her hind claws.
Perhaps it was naive of her to assume he would go along with it. Usually by now, cats had a general idea of the kind of discipline she dealt to warriors like this one. Maybe she needed to make that message clearer.
A flash of movement made Bumblestar's head snap up, but by then it was too late to interrupt. Sunflowerpaw was faster - contributing to a nice distraction, if nothing else. Bumblestar shot forward, in between Slypaw and Adderfang, snatched the latter's outstretched forepaw between her jaws, and wrenched sideways. The resulting CRACK! of the bone snapping split through the clearing. She hadn't wanted to do this in front of the kid, but consequences of your actions, or whatever.
She slammed a paw into the side of Adderfang's head, sending him sprawling and knocking Sunflowerpaw from his back. With teeth bared and hackles bristling, she rounded him, secured the opposite hind leg, and did the same - wrench, CRACK! - leaving both limbs uselessly broken.
With another harsh smack to his head, Bumblestar forced him to remain pinned. "I'm going to drag you to the outskirts," she spat. "I'm going to break another leg, 'n I'm going to leave you there to rot a slow, painful death alongside the corpses of the other traitors. You don't care if I kill you? I'll make you wish I had!"

Sunflowerpaw's eyes brightened with rage and relief as Bumblestar rushed forward to help. Though Sunflowerpaw was big for her age - almost as big as her mentor, Violetfreckle - she had been worried that she wouldn't have had been able to knock Adderfang over on her own. The cracks that sounded from the tom's bones as the ThunderClan Leader snapped them.... A shudder ran down the massive apprentice's spine at the sounds.
As Sunflowerpaw was knocked off Adderfang's back by Bumblestar, the apprentice rolled and jumped back to her paws. Her pelt and tail were bushed up, making her look - at least - twice her size. Sunflowerpaw's amber hues were alight with burning flames of rage. Her maw stung from Adderfang's earlier blow, but she was ready to make him pay. If Bumblestar would let her, that is.
The she-cat rushed over to Slypaw with a cry of horror at his bleeding eye. ''Wolfpaw, help him!'' The golden-and-cream mackerel tabby wailed, the worry in her voice evident. Slypaw didn't deserve this. Slypaw didn't deserve to be treated like this; and by his own father. She turned back to hiss at Adderfang as Bumblestar began to drag him away. ''You aren't just a monster, Foxheart-'' Play on words. Bumblestar should change his name to Foxheart, unless she had something better. ''-you're a disgrace to ThunderClan. You're a disgrace to the world. You're a disgrace to StarClan and the Place of No Stars. I bet they wouldn't accept you into either place, with what you just did.'' Her eyes flicked to Bumblestar. ''You should kill him now and rid us of him. He doesn't deserve the mercy of living. Not after this.''
Sunflowerpaw crouched beside Slypaw, her tongue gentle as she washed away the blood welling around his left eye. ''Wolfpaw'll help you. I promise. That foxheart will be dealt with by Bumblestar.'' She did her best not to hurt Slypaw, and if he cried out, she would touch her nose to his cheek comfortingly.

The brown tripod nodded as the leader told him to accompany adder and her to the territory. He hoped that the fox-heart was getting what they deserved. Once they got into the clearing, the tom's green eyes glared at them with anger. But within a split second, the warrior was able to lunge for Slypaw and damage the apprentice's eye. "THE. HELL!?" he screamed, rushing over to slypaw. Bumblestar managed to drag the warrior away. Normally, the tripod would have hated hearing the sound of bones being broken, but after what they did, Wolfpaw had no reaction. He widened his eyes as Adderfang managed to tear out two of Slypaw's claws as well. He flicked his ear at Sunflowerpaw's demand, but it was understandable. Her friend was just attacked. "Hold on," he said to the two bitterly before heading over to bumble. He saw what the leader had done to break the leg. So, the medicine cat gripped one of his front legs in his jaws and twisted it, causing a sickening Crack! he dropped the newly broken leg and left the leader and traitor without saying a word.
"Sunflowerpaw, help me get Slypaw to the medicine den. You too, Mothflame. The further away he is, the better. Bumble will take care of Fox-dung over there," he ordered the two other cats, making his way to slypaw's side. He wouldn't be the best cat to lean on because of his lack of a leg, but it would protect him from more damage and have wolfpaw get a closer look.

She did it. She passed her assessment! Hopefully she'd be made a warrior the next meeting. She had to! Firepaw was almost vibrating with excitement. She hadn't been this happy since...
Since...
... That happened.
Firepaw couldn't help a small frown that reached her face when she recalled the moment. He was... Everything she had. He was quiet, yes, but he was kind to her, and very understanding. She couldn't blame him for giving up on her, of course. He didn't want to leave ShadowClan and she didn't want to leave ThunderClan. It all made sense. It made sense that he hated her now, and it made sense she dreaded seeing him in Gatherings.
Ugh, she shouldn't let him spoil her excitement. She should be happy! She was almost a warrior. And yet, she couldn't help it. She thinned her lips in a straight line, eyes narrowing. Okay, stop thinking about you-know-who. Time to focus on her warrior ceremony! That was coming up!
The smile was back on her face in almost an instant.
