Urggghhhh what to do. No lazzing around camp. Stormstar had been pretty clear about that. But what was he to do! It's not like he could leave the camp and explore the territory. Well, he hadn't been told no, but he figured it'd be a no go. Hmm. Heroneye had taught him about cleaning that one time, maybe that's what he ought to do? But still, he idn't really know how to get started. What's a paw to do??
Upon returning to camp, Sedgeflake would hone in on Stormstar's location, wherever that was. "Followed her scent to the outskirts boundary, she didn't hang around. Marked it up though so she can't play dumb in the future." It wasn't that the scent there was stale - but a refresher made it so cats couldn't claim they missed it. If they did, they - well, he'd call 'em dumb, but they probably had more going on than just missing brain cells.
It was long overdue, and stars above did she feel stupid for putting it off for so long. The whole thing was very unprofessional on her part, just thinking about what happened made her cheeks burn. The situation rang of injustice, a wrong she should've set right more than a moon ago. She wasn't expecting anything other than some insults maybe and a lift of weight in her chest.
The deputy pushed herself up from her moss bed and scanned the clearing for Redmire. Honestly, she'd hate to bother the she-cat while leaf-bare was nearing, a truly miserable time for anycat with sense, unless they liked the snow. Owltalon had a pretty thick coat, but that didn't make the nipping weather any more or less enjoyable. It just... Sucked.
Though, once the chocolate tabby reached the warrior, she stopped her pace. "Redmire? I'd like ta chat with ya. D' ya mind?" It was honestly more of a hypothetical question, of course Redmire minded. Why wouldn't she? Hm, well, Owltalon ought to start talking then, just standing around wasn't going to do her any good.
"Wanted ta talk ta ya about me yellin' at ya fer actually addressin' a really important situation. A warrior threatenin' an apprentice? Stars above." Her muzzle wrinkled before she continued. "First of all, wanted ta thank ya fer bein' on top of the situation. Without ya, it probably would've slipped right through, and that is a fault of the high ranks fer not doin' their jobs. 'Part from Seabreeze, the chap was actually quite sensical." Hm. She should thank him as well. It was still sad to hear that he left the team, but she hoped he was happy regardless.
After a brief pause she continued on. "Secondly, I wanna apologize fer how I acted. I was brash and impulsive. I didn't fully understand the situation, so I aimed fer ya since somecat else was, Goldfish in this case. Ya, of course, don't have to forgive me, and that's alright, I just wanted ta let cha know that I'll make sure nocat gets told off fer no reason. Ya didn't deserve that, and I'm sorry."
She looked at the warrior when a level gaze. She didn't wish to bore her eyes into them, but she also didn't want to avoid her gaze, like a fumbling fish that wasn't aiming for a genuine apology. "If ya don't 'ave anythin' ta say ta me, I'll get outta yer fur. Other than that, I'm open ta whatever ya 'ave ta say."
Another one. That made two out of three. If Adderfang strode over to poke and prod at her a second time, Redmire was actually going to lose her mind on all three of them. She kept trying to avoid them, and they kept finding their way to her. She glanced up at Owltalon, narrowed her eyes, and curled a forepaw around the fish she was nibbling on as if to keep it from being snatched away.
"...Seabreeze handled it better than either of you," she muttered, looking down. Dammit, she was starting to get attached. He probably didn't even care much about her beyond a fleeting thought a day. The last time this had happened... don't even think about it.
She huffed air through her nose. "You're better at this than Goldfish was, at least. Look, I don't care anymore. Like I told her, I was antagonized by her, and then by you, and then again. And I guess Fadingstar made sure it'll keep happening. So, you know, whatever. Just- whatever."
