the scarred brown tabby glared at dawnstar as cloverpaw was reassigned to a new mentor. his green hues looked around before spotting them. cloverpaw snarled in their direction, pinning down his tattered ears. he was not going to look forward to this. at this point, cloverpaw might as well just leave, but he forced himself to stay.

Coyotepaw • He / They • Shadowclan apprentice • 10+ moons
Coyotepaw sighed softly, he was hoping this meeting would be the one where he was given his warrior name, but without having an assessment it seemed unlikely. He was shaken from his thoughts when they heard pawsteps approaching. He quirked a brow, looking down curiously at the younger apprentice. he had seen her once or twice in passing but had never spoken to her until now. From what they recalled they were made an apprentice not that long ago. He hadn't attended the meeting, but he had noticed them along with a few other new apprentices in the apprentices' den.
They gave a quick nod in greeting "mm?" He paused, taking a moment to gather their thoughts before speaking "oh- yeah, I've been training extra hard lately in preparation for my assessment, I can't wait to finally be allowed to leave camp without having to have a warrior tag along." His brows furrowed "Hopefully the lockdown will be lifted by then" He said quietly to them, his gaze shot back to Dawnstar as she called a bunch of kits forward before turning his focus back to Hollowpaw.
"How's your training going?" He asked curiously "It's been SO hard to get any REAL training done with this stupid lockdown" he joked with a quiet laugh, his tail tip twitching behind him.

➢ Assessment prep? You had to prepare for that...? Hollowpaw contains the confusion that ruffles her mind, they didn't get not jumping straight into it, claws first. She would have to talk to Hawkbite about such a thing.... Blue and amber eyes peel away from the brown pelt to meet another of darker shades, Dawnstar. She was calling up kits and giving reassignments, nothing out of the norm but more Apprentices meant less room in the den... It bothered the shecat but it wasn't like she was truly in there that much anyways. They turn back to the older Apprentice, ears perked as they listened, nodding briefly before he asked of their training was going. A simple question, she would answer that, yeah. They didn't sense any ill will in their question either...
"Ah, my training...it's been easy enough, could be more challenging. I've got hunting and battle left if I'm remembering my own memories correctly. Hawkbite being Enforcer Commander has been an advantage, I suppose." Her voice is husky and quiet, as if they were scared to speak any louder. Hollowpaw's ear flicks softly as the scarred shecat shrugs silently, unsure of what to add onto their statement.

Sunspot looked for his new apprentice, Burnetpaw. It was surprising to him but he was excited. The fact that he was getting an apprentice whirled around in his mind as he searched for the feline.
The imposing feline blinked slowly as the pair walked up. Her gaze peered past them watching the mentors and apprentices. The fur along her neck bristled as she remained ever agitated with how many reassignments had been done. She noticed Cloverpaw's glare but paid no mind to it. Dawnstar hadn't asked or pleaded for Lostspark's death, there was nothing she could do about reassigning the apprentice. But she understood grief and anger all too well, still, Dawnstar hoped the apprentice didn't jeopardize her training by being upset with cats who had nothing to do with her loss.
"I, Dawnstar, leader of ShadowClan," she began before she stewed about something she couldn't fix, "call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the warriors' way and I commend them to you as a warrior in their turn. Birdpaw and Gutspaw, do you promise to protect and serve this Clan, even at the cost of your lives?" #shcmeeting

Saltcloud glanced down at a she-cat who had sufdenly bounded up to him, annoyance through her tone. As he registered what she was saying, he let his mind wander slightly. He hadn't been expecting to be picked to be a mentor, he thought he was rather young for it. However, if the leader thought he was a good fit, then he must be. "That's no way to talk to your mentor," He chided, once Magpiepaw had stopped talking. "You should treat your mentor with respect and that includes watching your tone. It is good you've completed most of your training, and as for a tour of the territory..."
Saltcloud trailed off, eyes narrowing as he gazed past the apprentice to look past the camp. He would have to see about getting to take her on a tour, perhaps if a large enough group of cats went.He shook his head and turned back to his new apprentice. "First things first, I'd like to know what you've learned already."

"One man falls, another takes his place, he chases the wind until the end of his days."
Magpiepaw tilted her head at Saltcloud, caramel eyes narrowed as large ears flicked to listen to the leader's mews. Warrior ceremonies, huh? Such a destiny should be right between her claws, all for the taking. And yet, she was still falling short. No, no, no. This wasn't her fault, this was her mentors faults! Magpiepaw was skilled, she was devoted, yet nobody gave a rats bum about her. Shame, SHAMMEEEE.
A smile twitched at her maw at the words of her newest possible disappointment. There was no kindness in her grin, merely pent up rage. "I'll only respect you when you show me you're worth respecting, I don't take kindly to slugs, and I'd better be trained by the end of this moon." If not by him, then certainly by somecat else. She wasn't about to sit around 14 WHOLE MOONS and not get her warrior ceremony.
The apprentice suddenly squared her jaw, her unkind expression softening as she thought. "What if I tell you what a don't know?" She began, not waiting for a reply before she began speaking. "Hrm... I don't know stealth. I'm REALLY good at being quiet though! And uh another extra lesson, like.... I dunno." She gave her shoulders a shrug. She was really a territory tour, a stealth lesson, and an extra something-lesson away from becoming a warrior. So close, so, so, so far.

The tom chuckled good-naturedly at his siblings joke. "They are great, Doe. And Nightshiver is our surrogate." With a glance to the nursery, he would spot his kittens. "You can meet them now. Kits! Come see your auntie Doeflame!" He would call softly, as to not interrupt the meeting.
Blackkit was staring at a leaf when she her ears perked up at the sound of her father. Her gaze shifted in the direction of his voice, her eyes lit up when she saw him sitting with a cat she didn't know. Standing up, she hurriedly padded over to him. "Daddy!" she purred softly, her icy blue eyes looking up into his.

the meeting goes as they usually do. kits becoming apprentices, them receiving mentors. followed by apprentices getting reassigned mentors, and oh my, there was a lot this time around. not that he's surprised by any means, half the warrior's in the clan have rocks in place for their brains. quillpaw simply hums, heterochromatic gaze dancing about - not entirely focused. his ears twitch at the mention of warrior ceremonies. gutspaw who..well, he doesn't particularly care for. but, there's birdpaw too. his sisters becoming a warrior.
he was proud when sleepypaw became sleepysunrise, but this time... he feels.. hm. he's not sure how to describe it. angry? it's not so intense to be able to be described as pure anger, more or less..frustration. sleepysunrise was his older sister, it only makes sense for her to become a warrior before him. but birdpaw was his littermate and a bumbling crybaby, who he refused to believe finished her training before he did. his muscles tense, eyes narrowing as he zeroes in on his sister approaching the front of the crowd. why was it taking him so long?
it's fine, he thinks bitterly. yes, it's fine. he has information that others don't from thrush, so it doesn't matter that a littermate of his earned a new name. still, with a scoff and no attempt at hiding the disdain on his features, quillpaw rises to his paws and stalks off.

Midnightpaw turn to the sound of a warrior approaching them. Their mentor! "Hello Embercloud," they meowed, dipping their head respectfully. "I'm so excited to be taught by you," the apprentice says, their eyes gleaming.
Embercould smiled, Midnightpaw seemed like a nice cat. She nodded, pleased by their demeanor and excitement. "What have you learned so far?" She asked, sitting facing Midnightpaw with her tail wrapped neatly around her paws. "We can start there. Or if there's something you feel like you need to review." She meowed with a purr.
Ratflame blinked multiple times when her name was called. A mentor? She was going to be a mentor? She straightened up immediately as she looked at the new apprentices. When she spotted the tabby, she dipped her head low enough to press her nose up against his own. What should she say? "I'm happy to get to know you." That felt dumb, hopefully it wasn't. She hadn't made any unrealistic promises at least.
Bramblepaw nodded dutifully. Though his face and demeanor were both stoic, he didn't think Ratflame's words were foolish. They seemed like a fairly standard thing to say, and beyond that his mind was still whirling with concern for his sister. She had so been looking forward to being a warrior, surely she wouldn't miss their apprentice ceremony. As Gutspaw and Birdpaw stepped forward, Bramblepaw turned to sit next to Ratflame and observe the ceremony.
