Personality
Rosekit is a bit obsessive and possessive as a baseline, though also shy and unsure of herself especially in her early moons until she grows into her paws more when named an apprentice. Growing up felt different to her, of course it did, when something happened to your mother and father and that something is why people look at her and her siblings differently. At first, she hardly notices, but as she does, she turns more closed off and quiet. She keeps up a facade of being shy when its just blatant avoidance of most other cats, especially felines older than her. Swinging back to the obsessive and possessive notes, she can get very tunnel vision-ed and fixated on anything be it positive or negative, She’s obsessed with how she looks because everyone stares with her because of her heritage so may as well give them a show, she’s obsessed with keeping track of her siblings so they don’t leave her because they can’t leave her, they just can’t!
I usually leave most other details up to how things roll in the roleplay but I plan for Rosekit to turn a bit more violent, though that’s a bit of a harsh way of saying it, about her obsessions. She would verbally bash anyone who even looks at her siblings wrong. She’ll collect black mail on others she dislikes and use it against them if they even barely refer to her heritage, and so on and so forth. I do want her to reach some sort of peace surrounding herself and her idea of self because her entire life she will be unsure because if she doesn’t know her start, what factors her parents had in the way she grew up even with their absence, then who could say how much of her now is Rosekit and how much is something they did. They are the reason she is so… different.

Loyal
Rosekit, despite feeling slightly like an outcast, is extremely loyal to the clan and especially so to her siblings, limited friends, and any additional people of care she has. She would, without a second thought, die for her clan if the situation called for it though she wasn’t reckless with her wish to protect, she’s strategic, and willing to do awful things for the greater good.
Organized
She likes seeing things pretty. Rosekit would sort out the prey pile by what kind of prey and when she was older, into subcategories of how recently it was brought in. She would fix nest positions so that they were ‘proper.’ She is meticulous in her routines. When she’s older Rosekit would also be extremely routine in the when and where of her days so that she was the most productive, or at least try to with the randomness of clan life.
Determined
Paired with her loyalty and obsession, she is determined when she sets her mind on getting something or doing something. Doesn’t matter what it was, Rosekit would often become more and more frenzied based on how long it took for her to achieve one of her self-assigned goals. Though as she ages she will learn to hold her temper around ‘achieving’ better, but it’ll certainly be a learning curve through her apprenticeship.

Rosekit's siblings are going to be her main source of support for a long time, having more or less isolated herself from her other peers due to her prioritizing her siblings over any potential interaction and overall defensive and sometimes aggressive demeanor. Though she really cares for them, finding trinkets for them... but she doesn't even really play with them, not because she doesn't want to, it's just that she doesn't really like normal games. It's strange.

Howdy! It’s me, Dol! A complete stranger, I know, I know. But I like doing these as it shows my different commitment levels at this exact time so that I can be honest about what I can and can’t do for the finder I am applying for. Anyways, I would like to start with the fact that I am planning to keep this girl around for a while. I have recently found what was making posting harder for me ( other than school ) and have been readjusting my meds and planning to start some other medical things so I am sure that I can consistently keep up with Rosekit for a long time.
She would be similar to Patchkit in the sense that during the kithood she will be getting plenty of posts, but nothing too crazy happening, just building relationships with each of her siblings and perhaps some cats outside of her family circle as I am hoping for her to have at least one non family friend as a kit and apprentice. I have a habit of speeding through apprenticeships but I think I am going to take a more leisurely pace with Rosekit because I don’t think she strikes me as a very overachiever. She cares for the clan and siblings but training nonstop means she wouldn’t be able to see them, so she’ll go as she is needed.
I don’t have any crazy plans for her adulthood besides her having kits for sure because I want Spring to have Grandkits one day. But I’ll leave the rest up to how the roleplay plays! Some of my characters’ best development has been unplanned sooooo!

Rosekit is prone to prioritizing the care and happiness of her siblings above all else, and in this situation that meant stealing from other kits and even older cats if they have something that her siblings want. If they want a moss ball, then Rosekit will steal from another kit using force or not to get it to them. This can land Rosekit in a situation of trouble with adults or maybe being marked as being a bully and having a hard time socializing with kits that weren't already a part of her litter. Feeling isolated from her peers will only serve to further fuel her thoughts of insecurity and defensiveness especially as she gets a bit older, and realizes what her heritage has done to others' thought of her.

When they are older, and old enough to have a better understanding of her mother and who she was after hounding people for details, the roots of her insecurity fully secure in her mind. Rosekit becomes obsessive of provong that she is nothing like Spring or her so called father, and this eventually... causes some issues with her oldest sibling Kestrelkit. Just a moon earlier, Kestrelkit was the one that hung the stars, the eldest sibling, and a very cool one... but now... that they knew about Spring... Rosekit couldn't look at her sister in the same way, leading to shamed out avoidance, and borderline dislike. Until they finally have a sister to sister moment and Rosekit realizes that no matter how she looks, Kestrel would be nothing like Spring.
- Introduction: Poppykit-
I have wanted to design a character based off of the poppy plant for a long while now, but only now am I deciding to put the idea down onto an application. Springlight has always stood out to me as a very well-written and developed character, and seeing as she’ll be having children soon, whipping up an application to try and claim one of them is a great start to my post-hiatus time. A large portion of Poppykit’s physical and psychological characteristics will be coming from the poppy flower, ranging from the red-orange color of his fur to his constant yawns and naps. Poppykit is a naturally sleepy, socially awkward, and unusually apathetic character who’s a bit slow to catch on to emotional hints and implications. Born with some slight neurological difficulties, Poppykit struggles with empathy and feeling/expressing certain emotions (including pleasure, joy, trust, affection, and confidence.) He understands that something’s off, and it upsets him. This will be one of his greatest struggles throughout his most of his life. But perhaps this is where Springlight could come into things. There’s nothing like some motherly emotional support, now is there?
Basic Physical Traits- Good-Looking; Bright, red-orange mackerel pelt, large ears, long fur, large and round dark blue eyes, usually stiff, scrawny.
Personal Physical Conflicts/Disorders- Neurological difficulties that cause sleepiness and make him fretful, unrelaxed.
Personal Mental Conflicts/Disorders- Neurological difficulties that limit his ability to understand the emotions of both himself and others. They also cause anxiety and paranoia.
These statistics represent Poppykit’s general self throughout the entirety of his life- during his early months, they will not match completely.
Poppy’Kit is a short, small, and lanky tomcat. His fur is long, silky, and whispy, and it’s just about the only thing making him look like he isn’t the size of a pebble. The primary color of his pelt is a bright, awfully visible red-orange, based off of a poppy flower’s petals. He is a mackerel tabby tomcat, with light orange and dark red markings running down his back, face, legs, and tail. Half of his is patched with this same light orange, the other half being patched with the dark red. The skin showing on his nose and ears is a darker color, similar to spot where the petals of a poppy meet. His eyes are wide, round, and large, and the more irritated/upset he gets, the more often they blink. He has very large ears, a long tail with a cream-colored tuft at the end, and small paws. Light-footed, he has an easy time running around quietly, silent as stone. In a fair and/or good mood, his eyes will widen a little bit extra, and his ears will perk. Generally, he does not smile unless the expression is a purposeful one. I’ll get Poppykit a reference one of these days.
Poppykit, drowning in fatigue due to the weight of long days spent thinking and worrying, is actually quite the load of work for his loved ones. Although he isn’t the kind of child to go running around squealing and burning down camp, it takes a dangerously high amount of effort to keep him healthy- and happy. He has a natural tendency to interpret simple life struggles as catastrophes, seeing a crisis in something as small as his mother being away from the nursery for a few seconds too long. This causes him to worry about everything one could possibly come up with. His mind is a constant storm of confusion and concern, and by the time it ends, the only energy he has left is the energy to slump down for another nap. But this isn’t to say that he’s never at peace- it is certainly worth noting that he has some hobbies.
Poppykit, when he isn’t busy complaining to his mother about how the other kits are ‘too dumb n’ lazy to clean up their own mess of a nest’ or freaking out in public, likes to decorate the family nest with flowers. He’s might just look like a clean-freak, but he genuinely enjoys making things look nice and pretty. Unfortunately, this does come with some negative side effects, like perfectionism- but looking back to the bright side of things, when given the chance to decorate something nicely, he feels fairly pleasant. Poppykit also enjoys playing memorization games. Want to know the names of some random plants you found out on a hike? This kid’s got your back. He has a strong knack for learning and absorbing knew information, ideas, and knowledge… and once you get him to start talking about what he obsesses over, he will ramble until he can’t breathe- it just takes some time to get him to trust you enough to start. Although he’ll never have any superhuman strength, with a memory as great as his, he learns faster than the majority by far. Strangely enough, he also really enjoys… gossip. Poppykit claims to hate it when his clanmates start trash-talking and complaining about others, but he does it just as much. While some kittens might skip along merrily into the nursery ranting about how much fun they had playing moss-ball, Poppykit will come stomping in grumbling about how ugly camp looks every time warriors track in mud from the woods on their paws. While he’s still very young, he probably even storm in in the midst of an obnoxious, noisy tantrum.
Although Poppykit will always be an impatient and easily bothered character, these characteristics will be expressed most frequently during his early childhood. Once he matures and begins to consider himself “above tantrums” and “beyond such behaviors”, he will become much less vibrant about his irritation. He will gladly let you know that you have aggravated him, but instead of squealing and screaming, he, bluntly but quietly and calmly, will tell you what all you’ve done wrong. He has a seriously hard time making his apologies even sound genuine, let alone truly be genuine. But once the right people make him feel bad, it will haunt him for a long while. It takes Poppykit a significantly long time to get over things, whether it be a grudge or regret of his own. Once he has something on his mind, it remains there until it gets replaced by something even worse. With that said, the good things hang around in his head just as much- it just takes a lot for a memory to reach Poppykit’s “good-list”.
While he could come off to many as selfish, uncaring, and/or socially unaware, it wont be long before the time comes for him to realize that he has little to no friends. He’s smart enough to piece together the fact that he’s the problem, and once he makes this realization, shame will mix its way into his stress. It certainly won’t make him any happier, but it will teach him that he can’t just say and do whatever he feels like and walk off as if nothing happened. These kinds of realizations will only truly hit him once he’s reached his mid to late kithood, and by the time he has been apprenticed, they’ll most likely be eating at him on a daily basis. The older he grows, the more his perspective will transition into a self-blaming one, but this will not be expressed externally unless you’re a close friend of his.
Overall, I feel like this description has been pretty negative. So, on a lighter note, Poppykit will be a very knowledgeable individual.If he has a curiosity, he will dedicate his everything to get it satisfied. He will be stuck in a permanent “Why?-Phase”, and as his mother, Springlight would just have to adjust to his constant wonders and queries, because they’ll be popping up and out from all directions. Though, it is important to note that he will only take information from those who he trusts to be extra knowledgeable. It’s a real honor if he comes to you specifically with many of his curiosities. He will turn any conversation into a full-scale debate the moment he hears some slight inaccuracy in somebody else’s words, forming up another one of his talents/hobbies; Debating. In his not-so-humble opinion, opinions can definitely be wrong. The more reasoning for something, the better- and if somebody feels a certain way but they don’t have any logic to back it up, in Poppykit’s eyes, they are simply: wrong.
It’s worth noting that Poppykit’s personality is incredibly underdeveloped at the moment because I have never actually written with him before. If there were any inconsistencies in this messy description, I am always open to answer any questions.
- Relation to Springlight -
(Mother + Son Relationships)
Hopefully I got the point across that Poppykit over here is not a social butterfly. He keeps to himself, but without anybody to ramble/complain to, he’s sure to get extra lonely and sad. Although he never expresses much of a desire to get to know his peers or spend time with others, if he spend to much time alone with his morbid imagination, Poppykit will just fall into a deep, spiraling sadness. In other words, he needs somebody for good company. With her personality, I can see Springlight being one of the characters who Poppykit trusts the most. I can easily imagine him learning a lot from her and admiring her knowledge + skills, wanting them for his own. But once he trusts her this much, he will get awfully clingy, and if she ever wants some time to herself, she’ll have to keep an eye out for him 24/7 to make sure he isn’t hiding beside her when she does.
- Relation to Siblings -
(Sibling + Brother Relationships)
Of course, the specifics are heavily dependent on the personalities of the siblings, but in the end, it comes without a doubt that they Poppykit will hurt their feelings. Especially at a young age, with his blunt honesty and lack of emotional understanding, if something seems wrong with his siblings, he will point it out. If he thinks they have stubby legs, he will tell them. If he thinks they talk to loudly, he will tell them. If he thinks they won’t make it past apprenticeship, he will… tell them. The problem is, he does not realize that what he’s doing is harmful, so he keeps doing it, and if somebody gets him in trouble for it, he just gets upset. Once he’s a little bit older, although he still doesn’t understand why exactly he keeps getting into trouble, he begins to feel ashamed and humiliated anyway. But if he gets close with an of his siblings, I expect he will turn them into a debate partner/opponent the very moment he decides to trust them.
-Plot Ideas -
If Springlight becomes somebody who Poppykit can comfortably trust and idolize, then she’ll need a way to realize it. More or less, Poppykit will need a way to express it. He feels he’s too unskilled to put it out through words- he’s made too many mistakes speaking to other people, and he doesn’t want to mess things up with his mother by making another mistake. Reluctant to thank Springlight for her parental support verbally, Poppykit finds another way to thank her: gift giving. He finds some stray flowers hanging out around camp, and pretending to be his normal, curious self, he asks his mother to identify them. She was one of ThunderClan’s herbalists at one point, he was sure it would look pretty natural to ask her such casual questions. But he would leave the flowers at her nest, and the next day, he would arrive with a few more questions and gifts. The next day, he would have another question… and another flower. It probably wouldn’t take Springlight too long to realize that there’s a pattern going on, and with this plot, Poppykit would successfully show his mother some gratitude without awkwardly saying it to her face.
By the end of it, Poppykit would have a big appreciation for flowers and what they’ve done for him, more than happy to even be named after one of them.
The peak of this plot would take place during Poppykit’s apprenticeship, but it would begin during his kithood. Poppykit would discover his love for some arguinglawful, mature debating at a young age, and bug his siblings + mother about it every once and a while. As a kit, he gets to know somebody who he has plenty mixed feelings about this. This could be a sibling rivalry or something different, but basically, their relationship would develop and thrive off of debate and discussion. By the time they are apprentices, they would be in the midst of an entertaining verbal war, building a friendship off of this unusually positive rivalry. As they enter the training world, Poppykit- Poppy’Paw, at that time- would begin to trust them. As they. Grow, they get closer- but of course, the debates and teasing will still pop up every once in a while.
I can see Poppykit ranting to Springlight about all of the debating he’s been doing every time he gets the chance.
The older you get, the harder it rains. Poppykit will begin to suffer from the worst of his emotional struggles as an apprentice, but that means that they will have to develop during his early childhood. This is the period of time in which he will get into the most trouble, receive and ignore the most lectures, and hurt the most feelings. By the time he realizes that he’s been “doing everything all wrong” socially, he feels it’s already too late to take it back, seeing as everybody’s already treating him like a brat who wasn’t taught how to use manners. He will brush it off as his own fault, deciding for himself that he deserves whatever he feels, and whatever misery he’s stuck with is his own fault. This misconception will stick with him as he becomes an apprentice, but once it gets severe, he won’t realize it. He’ll just label himself as an ‘angst teen’ with ‘nothing to do but mumble and complain’ Without seeing the severity of his emotional issues, they will worsen, and eventually, they will be interfering with every small step he tries to take, tearing at his motivations and flooding him with paranoia. But to him, it’s all his own doing, and it’s his job to ‘ walk it off.’ Perhaps Springlight could help him out of this mindset.

PERSONALITY
Optimism
Peonykit sees the world through rose colored glasses. She tries to see the best in everyone and everything, and make light of serious situations. She does know that bad things happen, but as a kit she's sort of oblivious to them, or chooses to just ignore them.
Naivety
Peonykit has a simplistic and idealistic worldview in her kithood. She is gullible and easy to be manipulated through her eagerness to please.
Perseverance & Courage
However, her naivety also helps enstill in her a sense of perseverance and courage. When she begins to open her eyes and understand all the bad things around her, Peonykit doesn't just accept it, but tries to make difference and be the change she wishes to see in the world. She has a sense of fairness and in most cases a strong moral compass. She'll grow out of a lot of her naivety, and won't let other cats walk all over her so much. As she develops her courage, she'll begin to stand up more for herself and others, and continue to have a strong devotion to helping cats and doing what's right.
Peonykit is also courageous, her desire for knowledge (I'll get into that for a second) leads her to explore things and try to understand everything, including things she may be scared of, like bugs. She may even try to escape camp a couple of times, just to see what's outside, even if it does tear her apart, since she knows the rules say she has to stay inside.
Curiosity
From kithood, Peonykit has a great interest in learning about all different about every little detail. She wants to know all about Clan life and traditions and why things are the way they are. Why is Bumblestar the leader? Why does she get her own den? Why are they called ThunderClan? Are cats the only mammals with Clans? When she discovered that her mama knows a lot about herbs, she immediately wishes to be taught about them too. Peonykit finds StarClan and Medicine cats especially interesting, and may accidentally ask many sensitive questions, but she doesn't mean to! She just has a hunger for knowledge, and the cat who has all the answers in usually Mama. Her curiosity also leads her to be very open to new experiences.
Her curiosity also leads her to a love of learning. She can't wait to be an apprentice and always tries to listen in on the big cat's conversations and events. It's not fair that she's so little. Though, she's not necessarily overachieving, but rather just eager.
Bright
From her curiosity, Peonykit grows quite smart. She's a bright kit, and she can't help but occasionally try to show off her knowledge. She's creative and a quick thinker. Peonykit is always pushing the boundaries of life and come up with innovative solutions to problems.
Polite
Peonykit is a well-mannered and generally way behaved kit. She's very polite to the other queens and kits and her Clanmates, and likes a chance to be helpful. She has a great deal of respect for the rules. She knows they're in place for a reason, but she also believes in bending the rules occasionally, almost always for good reasons of course. (And sometimes for her own selfish desires)
Kind
Peonykit is good-natured and has a strong sense of kindness. She has a great deal of love for her friends and especially her siblings.
Loyal & dogmatic
Peonykit is loyal to a fault. She puts her friends and family above most everything else in her life, including herself and even her Clan. If it came down to it, shed choose her family over her loved ones over her Clan every time. This can turn negative, as her loyalty and love for those close to her blinds Peonykit to their flaws and wrongdoings.
Forgiving
Coupled with her loyalty is forgiveness. Peonykit forgives fairly easily, even over very serious matters. She tries to see the best in everyone, and believes that anyone can change, no matter how horrible they may be. This plays into her naivety, as she'll just continue to forgive, and encourage more toxic relationships.
As she gets older, she will also "forgive" her mother when she learns the truth about her siblings and Spring. In fact, she doesn't think that Spring did anything wrong at all, and she'll carry this belief with her no matter what anyone says, including her siblings. She doesn't blame Spring at all.
