another unnecessary check of his surroundings, grey eyes scanning the greenery to his left and right, even tilting his head up to make sure there was nothing to potentially disturb the mice, no birds or squirrels or whatever, before finally flexing his muscles. tense and ready, he waited for the time all three mice were within reach, chittering to one another huddled together closely. if he went for one mouse per paw and one to be caught between sharp teeth he may have a chance.. finally, he let the tension snap like a rubber band stretched too far, he leaped at them, claws extracted and flexed forward before finally colliding with the mice. jaws closed around the darkest of the three, and the faint crunch of bones cracking under the force vibrated into his skull, right paw slammed down on the second mouse while number three briefly made a run for it, only to have the former enforcer drop the mouse help between his teeth, pin the mouse down by its tail using his free paw, and quickly delivered a killing bite.
three mice, again, some may say his roleplayer was cheating because of these frankly ridiculous rolls and he is feeling like that as well, can however ensure that this is not the case and the dice just really hate it,,or love rook, whoever you wanna take it. three tails dangling from behind sharp teeth, like the bars of a prison cell, build from bone to keep the dead inside, the medicine cat apprentice made his way back to where they had parted, dug another small hole next to his other two, dropped the mice and scratched soil back over it.
stars he was slowly getting kind of sick of this event, not that he would complain, he and everyone else had to eat but man he didnt enjoy this one bit...

with his mice 'discarded' (or rather safely stored) rookfire had a brief moment of despair at the amount of prey they would have to somehow bring back to camp. stars above he would hunt down briarsplash if all that prey wouldnt be eaten before turning into crowfood.. speaking of crows, the faint caws originating from somewhere above him was slightly unsettling and he didnt really feel like stolen food so rookfire decided he was the guard now. pacing back and forth along the swallow holes holding their catches until he picked up the scent of lizard. it was getting cool so he was mildly surprised and at the same time transported back to the time he had caught his first lizard at riverclan hot springs in a part of the territory he couldnt quite remember the name off.. too bad honestly, he had enjoyed the warm water.
whatever. the lizard, thats what he should be focussing on. at the moment, he could only see one, small n kind of coloured like a bright slab of wood, it was resting on a flat stone, possibly basking in the last rays of late green leaf sun before the cool of leaf fall and leaf bare would force them to retreat and disappear to wherever until new leaf bled into green leaf and the whole spiel was to repeat..
dropped low into a hunters crouch r0achflare would no doubt he proud of, the former enforcer crept closer. closer. closer. until he was close enough to go for it. swiftly darting forward, he pounced on the reptile.

As a reminder:
- There will be a five-round system where we will roll dice for each cat participating. The results will be as follows:* 1-5 = automatic fail; you miss the catch.
* 6-10 = you catch one piece (and perhaps not as smoothly as you'd want).
* 11-15 = you catch two pieces! look at you!
* 16-20 = you catch three pieces, wowza!
**Note: if you have the Ultimate Predator purrk, your dice will be rolled twice! The better outcome of the two will be chosen. Please notify us if you have this purrk if it's not listed on your header/posts!** - But beware! Not all numbers are as they seem... some random numbers between 1-20 have been chosen as 'trapped'. Rolling these digits might land you in a rather inconvenient situation. Each group will have different 'trapped' numbers. Perhaps the dice will be kind to you? Perhaps not...
- This will be a semi-fast-paced event where we will be wanting to roll every 2-3 days to keep it moving, so if you're participating, please be ready to respond! No post means no dice rolls, so if there isn't one, we will skip over you for that roll.

Shrewstep was thrilled to see the two starlings pecking away at some beechnuts next to eachother. Plenty of food for all had, apparently, lowered their interest in competing. And, he hoped, spelled their doom. A lunge of a rather wild nature took him between the two, snatching one with his paws as it leapt into the air and snapping the neck of the other with his teeth. Good good good! He was WINNING this thing! Though, he deduced, it was time to find a third place to hunt. Covering the birds with some beech leaves, Shrewstep headed out again.
As the plan of lurking around trees giving sustenance to the other creatures of the forest had thus far been a profitable one, Shrewstep next started his stalking near a pine tree which had sent down a hail of pinecones. Rodents like those, right? There were certainly a few scents of chipmunk and squirrel, and while he couldn't quite see any of them there was certainly the sound of their little teeth a-gnawing in the air. Slinking through the pine needles as best he could Shrewstep craned his neck about in an effort to spot one of the bigger, juicier squirrels, all while praying that one of the ratty little chipmunks wouldn't give him away with its shrill cry.

stocky, large, & fluffy dilute gray tortie she-cat with goldish-green eyes; just a scratch

~ Not bad, and not a single miss yet. Holding to her luck, Briarsplash continued her trek through the forests. Eventually she spotted a shrew; less common prey, at least in her experience. Her whiskers twitched, sticking to the shadows as she crept towards the long-snouted critter. Trying not to let her haunches wriggle too much in anticipation of hopefully another successful kill, the fluffy she-cat pushed off her hind legs, soaring into the air and headed right for her prey...
