Grey ears flattened against his head as he found himself being berated by Moorkit, Racoonkit, and Rookkit. I was just trying to see... He shuffled his paw on the ground and pouted. They were totally over-reacting! If they didn't want to be stepped on then they shouldn't all be sleeping in the same nest. "But it's pretty out...there's no need to yell..." He mumbled. The lanky tom shuffled closer to Strikekit. At least she wanted to come out with him. "If you want to go back inside and be quiet that's fine. But I'm gonna look!" He meowed, flicking his tail at the entrance as he turned to look at the sky.

 

Most nights are beautiful in the open plane that makes up Windclan's territory, this one even more so than usual. There were a few thing whisky clouds floating here or there around the sky, but for the most part the stars and the moon had this stage all to themselves. The moon, which was nearing its peak, cast a nice comfortable glow on the world below it. The stars were twinkling happily against the inky black sky. Dozens and dozens of silvery freckles dancing up high above them. Each one perhaps marking the life of some sympathetic ancestor, who was happy to see them. The rest of the camp was shrouded in a darkness that might have been frightening if it hadn't been for the calming display above.

Driftingkit was immediately caught by how brilliant the sky looked tonight. He had seen the stars before, of course, but that had been when they were first starting to coming out and he needed to go to bed. Now they were at their prime and he was completely stunned. "Woah...look at that!" He turned back to his doubting siblings with a confident I-told-you-so face. "It's even better than what I thought it was going to be!" The grey and cream kit paced a few paw steps forward to get out from under the shade of the nursery. "There's so many!" He looked up again and then towards Strikekit to see if she was seeing this too.

Shrikekit
she/her - 1 moon

She stuck her tongue out at Raccoonkit - not quite mean-ly - as she stumbled up to her paws, "di'n't do that!" she claimed as she brushed some specks of dirt out of her coat. Urghh these kit coats picked up so much debris and dirt!! Far too fluffy!! Both Moorkit and Rookkit said they were being loud. Hmm. Maybe they were being a little loud. But it was exciting! They were about to do something big!

"Going outside," she whispered to Raccoonkit excitedly, "gonna see that big.. Uh... That big thiing in the sky.."

She giggled excitedly, jumping out the exit behind Driftingkit - what she was met with was - wow. There were so many speckles, like a cat's pelt, but lights! So many lights in the sky, and then that biiiig one, wowiee. She'd never seen such a thing! They should be allowed to sleep out under it, not nestled away in the silly nursery!

"Wow..." she replied, before twisting her head over her shoulder - "c'mon!! You' allll gotta see this!!" She called out to the other kits, noise complaints forgotten. As she started up at it, she realised there didn't seem to be any kind of end - it went on and on..., Forver? "There's so much.. Empty? Behind all that sparkley stuff," she murmured to Driftingkit, not quite having the words to phrase it properly.

Coldkit

A world, so grand and bright, it was difficult to imagine. Coldkit had been awoken by the constant restless movements around her, stepping her ears, tripping over her paw... Crushing her face. It was difficult for anyone to stay awake in such commotion, and the lilac kitten shot up with a huff which fell on deaf ears. As by the time she had risen, her siblings were long gone. She could feel the empty spots evident within the nest they all shared, and the hushed whispers quietly drifting into the den.

She knew she ought to ignore it; Rainkit surely had some choice words for their actions, and even Coldkit doubted this was allowed. But they spoke with such wonder and amazement, a part of her couldn't help but be intrigued by what they found outside. So, with steps still wobbly and lacking in any kind of orientation, Coldkit slipped out of their shared nest.

Her path towards them was difficult; she tried to trace their voices, quiet and difficult to decipher their direction, and yet still found herself tripping and stumbling over wayward nests and paws, and bumping into walls and forgotten mossballs that lay about the den. But eventually, she found it; her path was no longer obstructed and though she tripped over the rising exit, she could tell by their scents and the sounds of their voices that they were.

"What's..going on?"

"Apparently we're being woken up to stare at an orb. " she pouted silently, though she had to admit the night sky was pretty. She wished she could have a star for her collection so it had a cool light on it.
(provided it wasn't one of the ones that was a dead person but that didn't cross her mind at the moment.) Why were stuff like that never in camp? If there her collection would have to have a whole den to itself! She sat down against the walls of the nursery without taking her eyes off the moon.
