Stagheart nodded at first as Stormstar talked about being accepted by the stars; that was a nice thought. Even with her only having gained one extra life due to RiverClan's restrictions (presumably from its unstable leadership, he could only guess), StarClan had still accepted the then-Dusklion and made her leader. At least their ancestors hadn't given up on them, or not completely, it seemed.
But then Storm started to speak about Daisypaw, and he could tell from the caution in her tone that she shared much of the same concerns that Stag did himself. He almost winced at the word 'liability' — mainly because it was the exact same word he'd considered himself, though he'd never say it aloud. Not when the kit had sort of been taken under his wing, considering him a father figure to her because she'd been orphaned during the raid those few moons ago. It filled him with guilt and dread, but also a dulled sense of validation to know he wasn't the only one who'd been more than concerned for Daisy in these ways.
He let out a long sigh at her last question, going quiet for several moments in deep thought. His leader had points, as much as he hated hearing them — because they reflected his inner concerns so clearly. There had been many times when Stagheart could easily picture the young cat being torn to shreds by some predator, or making one wrong misstep that made her fall to her doom, or... so many other things that her fragile body would easily break under. He cleared his throat, looking down at his paws before raising his stark blue gaze to Stormstar's.
"I... I don't know," he finally meowed. It wasn't often that the stoic warrior showed too much uncertainty, but when it came to poor little Daisypaw's place in the Clan, and her fate... he was nearly at a loss of what to do. He was quiet for another moment, taking in a breath to gather more of his thoughts. "...I don't know much 'bout these sorts of things. I really only get fightin', huntin', 'n not much else. Fragile kids who wanna help, yet get their muscles pulled by stretchin' too hard... those sorta things are beyond me," he admitted with a frown. He remembered that day he'd seen such a thing happen while visiting the young cat at the abandoned Twoleg den. That had really been the kicker for him — what could they do with a cat like her in the Clan?
"...I get what you're sayin' — in fact, I agree with it, which is what's hardest, He continued and narrowed his eyes, his gaze glazing over a bit as he pictured the young 'paw in his mind. "But Daisy, she... she ain't got much else. Orphaned kit, Brightnight died while givin' birth when we were driven out of our old camp... she's just got Willowtail 'n Weepin'paw now. And me'n Berry, I 'spose... sees me as a father of sorts." He sighed again, slowly leaning back on his haunches, shaking his head as if changing his train of thought. He was getting off track; what should they do? Stormstar looked just as conflicted and concerned as he did. It was a sort of... unprecedented situation. At least that he'd personally seen.
"She's got the heart for helpin', but I ain't sure what we could have her do besides the little things Fadin'star suggested, 'n do our best to keep her safe at camp. Beyond that..." He hung his head a bit, as if ashamed of just having no clue. "...I honestly don't know..."
He was a practical cat, but there seemed to be no reasonable solution in his mind that he could find. And that was the most frustrating thing of all... feeling like he could truly do nothing. The conflict was clear on his weathered features.
Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
The leader had been hoping for Stags to have the answer to this because she didn't, but when he seemed just as confused as she did Stormstar deflated just a little. There was one solution that would be the best shot for Daisypaw to have a full and more safe life - but the leader felt physical pain constrict her chest, so she shoved it away for now. Part of her thought to perhaps ask the other leaders for advice, but once again the stark reminder that none of the leaders gave two fish-fins about her or RiverClan right now dismissed that thought.
"...I think we should talk to Daisypaw. Make sure she understands... what could happen if... I mean, see what the extent of her limitations are." Having a better understanding of what the 'paw could expect in the future would perhaps give the leader a better trail to follow as far as what to do. "...Berries, too. Maybe she's learned somethin' recently with how to help Daisypaw."
Of all the part of being a leader, this was what she hated most. The importance of the Clan and not risking lives versus the life of an apprentice. If there was a situation where Daisypaw couldn't defend herself and it risked the lives of other members in the Clan... Stormstar looked back at Stags, wondering if he had anymore thoughts. "...I know neither of us want to say it," the leader murmured, forcing herself to steel her expression, "...'bout what the best life may be for Daisypaw."
OspreyDart hobbled along, seeing the den he'd lay by the entrance. As he crouched down on the sand he slipped falling onto his stomach. "Ouch!" The tom laid down from that spot putting his head on his paws. Two minutes go by and he is asleep
Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
...What was up with this cat? Approaching the sleeping tom at the entrance of her den, Stormstar resisted the urge to sigh loudly. Using a paw she aimed a prod at the warrior's side. "This isn't the place to nap, Ospreydart." Was this cat alright? The odd behavior was making her wonder if she should ask Berries or Cobs what he'd been seen for in their den.

The large she-cat walked in, her fur sticking to her sides. She carried a new wet smell to her, as though she'd just been rained on. She looked at Stormstar with a fulfilled smile, wide and toothy. "Afta'noon, chief! Me and Foxleap just got back from lookin' fer a burial sight. We stubbled upon a place that's quite foggy but has a good amount of shelter and an odd pond." She paused before continuing, "The fog is pretty thick if ya ask me, but that may just be 'm poor vision." She chuckled at that, her shoulders bobbing up and down.
"No predators inhabit the area and there is scarce prey. I'm pretty sure the only thing ya can catch there is frogs in that pond, well, if there are any." She'd only heard a brief splash of movement in that pond, but she doubted there was an abundance of anything there, which was completely fine, there didn't need to be.
"Me and Foxleap were kinda stuck fer a name, though it took a bit of chattin' we've settled on Seagrass Fields. Heh-heh, I came up with that one," she puffed her chest in exaggerated boldness before she resumed her conversation. "But it truly isa nice place. A bit eerie, yeah, but the tall grass offers a lotta shelter."

Osprey groaned as he grumpily went to a different spot near the clearing. "MMMMMMMM" He grumbled, plopping down and back to sleep.

The tom sat in the ditch waiting for an answer from Starclan. "Silverpelt is quiet, maybe being a kittypet was a bad idea."The tom lied down falling asleep.
Otternose padded up to Stormstar's den, and stood outside of it. She wanted to change her name, that was why she was here. She didn't want to have a close name to her murderous sister Ottersplash, she didn't even know why her mother had named them both "Otter", but the point still didn't change. "S- Stormstar? Could I talk to you about something?"

It was ironically both a relief and a burden to see the mutual conflict in his leader's blue eyes; both of them didn't want to address what might be Daisypaw's best option. But taking her away from her Clan, her family...? That also felt so wrong. Maybe his little adoptive family was just making him soft; if it were any other apprentice, he'd likely and easily just usher them off to the nearest Twolegplace with his best wishes.
"I've... thought about it," he admitted quietly to Stormstar's last words, clearing his throat to hide the slight waver in his tone. He didn't enjoy the thought of suggesting that at all to Daisypaw; so for now, the alternative of speaking to Berryshine and including Daisy herself in the conversation seemed the most reasonable right now. Especially because he knew that little Daisy wouldn't take news like that well at all, particularly if the decision was just dropped on her...
Shaking his head, the large warrior let out a long sigh. "But, yeah... we should talk to Berry, 'n Daisypaw too. The kid knows how... bad things can be for her, but I don't think she expects anythin' to really stop her from Clan life. Maybe if we see how she's feelin', what she's thinkin', 'n get Berry's advice... I dunno." His shoulders sagged a bit. He was frustratingly clueless when it came to these matters, and it bothered him more than he'd like to admit. But for the mere chance that maybe they could work something out rather than sending Daisypaw away on her own... he'd try just about anything else at the moment. He was at least glad to know Stormstar was sort of in the same boat, not wanting to immediately jump to the extreme solution, but willing to consider it.
Stars above... this wasn't going to be a fun conversation.

cobwebfern nosed her way in and laid down next to her older sister, happy at the invitation to come in. she laid her head on stormstar's shoulder and almost fell asleep, she was so exhausted. she purred softly, feeling genuinely at home for the first time in a little while. yawning, then laughing because stormy's yawn was contagious, the apprentice cleared her throat and began to talk. ' hi.. i missed you. when you were at the starcave with berries. you're the best, both of you, 'nd i missed you a lot.. how did it go? ' she intentionally held back from speaking about her new role, a little too embarassed to actually talk about the elephant in the room.
Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
As the newly named medicine cat apprentice padded further into her den and promptly plopped herself down at her side, Stormstar couldn't help but chuckle. "Berries must be workin' you hard already," she snorted as she nearly fell asleep. Hearing that she was missed tugged at something in her heart as the RiverClan leader settled into more of a loaf position, eyes flickering around the den. "I met Fury," the gray-furred leader purred with a warm look in her eye. "He told me he's proud of me, 'n that I... might be the one to bring hope back to RiverClan." They were heavy words that still weighed on her even a half-moon later, nestled in the corners of her mind.
Giving a shrug of her shoulders, the leader glanced over at Cobs. "'S gonna take a lot of work... undoin' what my... what Fadin'star did to us..." It was too difficult to call him her brother, it hurt too much. "But 've got hope. With Owls, 'n Berries, 'n now you." With that a broad smile stretched across her face and she nudged her sister with her shoulder. "How've you been settlin' in? Learnin' a lot from Berries?"
As his leader spoke her intentions quite clearly, Wavbreaker's eyes lit up gratefully. It was a chance to right his wrongs with the kit in their earlier meeting, a chance for him to do some good. Blizzardoak had instilled in him ideals which were close to the black cats heart. Not every interaction for a warrior was about survival or the tools for it. Sometimes it came down to simply reaching out to others and creating a community where all RiverClanners could be at ease. Where their talents could be brought forward through hard work and perseverance as a group. His felt tipped ears latched on to these thoughts as Stormstar mentioned Wisteriawren and bringing closure for Starrykit in regards to her sisters passing. I'd give anything to know what happened to my father. His dark blue eyes became more serious as he processed those longing feelings.
"Of course. You can count on me Stormstar. I will see if Wisteriawren remembers where Elderkit was buried, once I've confirmed the site I shall take Starrykit with me." He had seen Wisteriawren conversing with Berrypaw at the last gathering, right before Spiderthroats kits had burst onto the scene. He hoped privately it wouldn't be too much trouble to track her down. He gave a quick nod to his leader "Thank you for hearing me out, that's all I had for you Stormstar. Is there anything else you need of me before I return to my duties?"
Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
Good. She was grateful the tom was willing to take Starrykit out to say goodbye to her sister. Stormstar hoped it would prove good for the young she-cat, a chance for closure that would help her move on. "Not at the moment, you're free to go," the leader dipped her head in farewell, flicking her tail back and forth behind her.
Primrosepaw
RiverClan Apprentice
´´The Empress´´
Ultimate Predator
Trick of the Eye
Go with the Flow 131 / 100
Primrosepaw´s small-statured form appeared at the den entrance as she approached with soft pawsteps. ´´Stormstar?´´ The Empress called in before making her way inside of the den. The apprentice sat back on her haunches in front of the gray-furred leader.
´´I wanted to let you know that I passed my assessment. I caught a rabbit and a carp, and Adderstrike said that my battle performance was excellent.´´ Primrosepaw blinked, emerald hues fixed on Stormstar. ´´However, that isn´t the only reason I am here. I wanted to request my warrior name, if you´ll allow it.´´
Taking a deep breath, the Empress met the Clan Leader´s blue hues. ´´I would like to be called Primroseadder. Not just after Adderstrike,´´ Primrosepaw added on quickly. ´´but because I feel as if it matches my nature.´´
[ @taillow - i forgot her punishment was over yesterday lmao ]
Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
Turning around at the sound of her name, the leader angled her ears forward to listen to whatever it was that Primrosepaw had to say. Oh, her assessment? She found it rather odd that she was the one reporting and not Adds, but Stormstar pushed the thought away for now. The hunting catches were a bit dismal, not what she would've passed, but the leader remained silent. Rabbit on RiverClan territory was also rare considering their marshland...
So she wanted to pick out her own name? Admittedly, the first reaction Stormstar had was a bit of sadness - though it never crossed her expression. Primrosepaw would be among the first cats she would make into a warrior - and yet, she wouldn't get to select her warrior name. "Glad to hear you passed. I'll see if I can find Adds 'n make sure everythin' went smoothly." Because again, it was odd the apprentice was the one doing the reporting. "I can definitely grant you that name. 'S long as everythin' checks out with Adds, I don't see you wouldn't be able to become a warrior at the next meetin'."
