Bouncepaw follows after Scorpionsight, still pretty nervous. Marking? He hadn't ever done that before. He watches the warrior rub her tails and body on some leaves near the border, and copies her to do the same. The faint, stale scent of a past Windclan patrol is now renewed by his fresh scent.
He sniffs the air, checking to see if it's properly done, and seeing there doesn't seem to be problems, he moves on. The air smells of Thunderclan, the piney smell drifting across the border. And there's the scent of prey, too, though not nearby. Mostly birds. And a bee? Bouncepaw avoids one and sticks closer to Scorpionsight. He didn't want to be stung.

Rabbitbreeze trots a little slower behind them, making sure to sniff unmarked places and add fresh scent. If only they were at the Riverclan border... She shook the thought from her head, leaning down to sniff for prey scents. A flutter from behind a tree caught her eye. Slowly, she crouched down, creeping forward. It was a small bird. She crept even closer, pausing, before leaping on top of the bird and giving it a killing bite. She stood up with bird dangling for her jaws, running to catch up with the two cats.

Okay, she hadn't noticed that, but good thing it was caught.
"Uh, good catch." Scorpionsight complimented.
She glanced once more at the border, for no reason in particular, before looking back at her patrolmates.
"Yeah, um, that's... fine with me too." Bouncepaw meows, inwardly a little disappointed that he wasn't able to have a chance to try out his hunting skills. But oh well, there was always next time. And a part of him felt relieved; he didn't want to embarrass himself.
Nightgaze flicked her tail in a friendly greeting as Copperpaw appeared. There he was! Now time to get moving! Bounding after her patrol, she kept her ears perked for any weird noises, the kind that just sounded a bit suspicious. Couldn't have anymore predator problems with the fiasco happening right now!
As they reached the glade, the small hornet immediately began marking the border. Rubbing against every shrub and tree she could in an effort to block out the Windclan stench as well. Man, other clans reeked! Nightgaze just shrugged her shoulders in response to both Copperpaw and Wolfhive's voices. History was hard to remember.

"C'mon Copperpaw! We ain't waiting around for you." The apprentice hadn't gathered yet, and Wolfhive was tired of the nothingness.
At the border, things were fine... the WindClan scent was a little stale but so was theirs. Wolfhive didn't notice anything immediately concerning. "You think they'll ever change the name?" Given the spot was allegedly named over a shallow victory and the land returned... it just was odd to him the rabbits didn't bother.

COPPERPAW
The tabby had gotten distracted during the patrol assignments by an intriguing plant sprouting from beneath a rock nearby, and missed his name being called. By the time his head popped up there were already gathering to leave, and he had no idea which team to join. Thankfully, Wolfhive called out his name just as they were passing by towards the exit, and Copperpaw bounded forward, tagging along eagerly. “Sorry!” he called sheepishly, falling in beside his mentor.
When they arrived, Copperpsw examined the surrounding carefully, very curious. “What’s wrong with the name?” he asked instinctively. Then he realized that perhaps that was singling him out as unknowing or ignorant, and his ears flattened slightly. This was so hard, trying to get info without constantly reminding everyone he knew much less of the clans than them. Oh well, too late now. Might as well learn something.
Not wanting to make the mistake again, Copperpaw watched Wolfhive carefully to figure out what to do. He edged forward slowly, trying to make out the spots where the other clan’s scent most strongly and abruptly stood. Not crossing the imaginary line he drew in his mind between two of such spots, he went to work as well.
Bumblestar stepped in behind the others to mark whatever they might have missed.
"They really should change the name," she grunted, and tossed Copperpaw a glance. "An older leader of ThunderClan stole a piece of WindClan territory seasons ago. I just now gave it back to 'em a couple of moons ago to keep their paws off Spiderthroat. No part of it's really ThunderClan's anymore, so keepin' the 'Thunder' in the name doesn't really make sense. But they'll do what they feel like doin', I guess."
Though the sun bakes down on Windclans territory and the day is dry and hot there is no fire to be found here. Various scents float to you on the wind but overall the area is quiet and clear. The danger is elsewhere.

Whiskers twitching in amusement as Scorpionsight just barely flattened her ears (obviously because she was flustered, right?), Rabbitfoot jerked his head for her to follow him as he began padding out of camp. ”Come on then.” He said gruffly. ”We’re going to the Thunderglade.”

Eventually the pair would end up by the ThunderClan border. His golden eyes narrowed as he tasted the air. ”I swear every time I come here I pick up the same ThunderClan scent…It’s like they’re waiting for someone.” He scoffed, making the bushes as he skirted along the border. ”Might have to tell the higher ups if their scent even barely crosses the scent line.” The bengal flexed his claws, shooting a dirty look across the border before turning back towards Scorpionsight. ”Those squirrel-chasers…so full of themselves.” He snorted as he padded back up to the she-cat. ”Wouldn’t you agree?” Rabbitfoot looked at her quizzically.
