Snakefang padded out of the nursery and into the clearing, her eyes wondered around looking for Bumblestar. Not finding the Thunderclan leader, she turned and walked over to the leaders den. She waited a minute before popping her head in. Snakefang knew that she had to be carful with what she said around the Thunderclan leader...her sister did get demoted to Tigerkit. "Bumblestar?" she meowed, looking into the den. She didn't want to disturb the cat but she had an important question to ask.

"Yeah." Not so much a response as a flat statement. Bumblester pushed herself into an upright position, blinking at Snakefang. Hey, wasn't that the name Snakepaw used to have? "You need somethin'?"

Snakefang looked at her leader. "Yes." she meowed walking closer to her. "I need to change by name." she meowed. "Doesn't feel right, knowing that Snakepaw was Snakefang." she said with a tilt of her head. The queen looked at the leader.

Brackenclaw- He/Him, 25 moons old, Thunderclan Hornet. Purrks: Just a Scratch.

Brackenclaw hadn't gotten hurt during the patrols to wipe out the Badger or the Foxes. As such he didn't really need to go to the Medicine Cat den. He instead waited outside of Bumblestar's den waiting to be given permission to come in. This was mostly just a respect thing. Brackenclaw would let out a bellow of his deep voice as he meowed. "I am here as requested may I come in?" Brackenclaw meowed with his deep dark voice. Brackenclaw waited for a reply before he would move though. @dino. @BEAR. @Spider. (I apologize for the wait kinda had a persistent headache recently. Hope I ain't getting sick.)

Eveningkit stood outside the leaders den staring at the weird skull that hanged above it. He tilted his head wondering when it got there or had it always been here? He can't remember, he'd only ever been out of the nursery three times. Shocking for a four moon old kit really, it was all because he was missing his family but now he decided it was enough. He needed to continue on without them since it didn't seem like they'd be coming back from their adventure anytime soon. After reaching out and actually socialising and making a new friend- uh or atleast he considered Cherrykit to be a friend, he decided to try and catch up with the rest of his denmates.

From what he could figure out, everyone wanted to become apprentices so that's what he wanted too! Obviously it must be fun, and fun things are good! Great even. He didn't want to wait till 6 moons to have fun Soooo ofcourse he had to come to talk to the leader and request to start his training now. Bumblestar let kits younger than 6 moons old become apprentices so surely she would let him become one too. Picking up his mouse from the ground, that he so thoughtfully grabbed from the freshkill pile, and marched into the den. "I don't know if anyone told you but you have a weird skull outside your den, might scare away the visitors in my opinion" he said loudly. Honestly maybe that's what Bumblestar wanted but why would any at want to be alone? He had been alone and he hated it!

The touch at her nose caused her to momentarily panic. This was the end. No more Swanpaw. ’Goodbye Mommy. Goodbye Daddy. Goodbye Elkpaw. Goodbye Swanpaw. Goodbye Brindlepaw’. She quickly went through a mental goodbye for each of her loved ones before her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the small-framed leader’s voice (causing her to flinch slightly). Bumblestar wasn’t going to end her for her question…?

Hesitantly, they opened their eyes as Bumblestar began explaining the cause of their confusion. ”I see…” Swanpaw mewed as if lost in thought, eyes once again cast toward the ground, brows furrowed. The young apprentice was running the new facts in her mind as she processed what she was just told. She hadn’t known that you could do that – be a she-cat when you were born a tom. That was… interesting? Yes, she would go with interesting.

”I u-umm…” She tripped over her words as they tried to figure out how to voice the concerns that had been plaguing her for some time now. ”I’m… different too…” She said in a hesitant tone before bringing her gaze back to Bumblestar, eyes welling with tears that threatened to spill over. ”M-Mudhound… they accidentally called me ‘he’ a-and… s-sometimes others get c-confused too. D-do I smell different t-too? I’ve a-always kn-kn-known I was d-different from my siblings b-but… I-is something wrong with m-me?” She stammered.

She was trying not to cry. Bumblestar already seemed somewhat irritated and they couldn’t imagine that sobbing would make things any better, They were just… confused… Bumblestar was a she-cat but was born a tom and so smelled like a tom. What about her though? She was a she-cat… she thought so at least, and she thought she was born a she-cat too. Mommy and Daddy had never told her otherwise, she had always been a she-cat. So… so why? Why were others confused about her gender? Why did they sometimes call her the wrong thing? Was… was there something actually wrong with them that they weren’t aware of?
