Shallowkit let out a sigh of relief as Brokenstream gently led them back to the nursery. He might've died out there! "Ooo~! Like, apprentice crouches?" He meowed and looked at Songkit.

Post-everything, Sedgeflake found Redmire and stopped beside her. He was feeling antsy, and knew that she had a similar concern as him - not the same maybe, but if anyone were to understand his view it'd be her. Even if she didn't, at least she'd have the clear-sightedness he needed to get back on track. "You got a mo'?"

Returning to camp after collecting catmint from Sleepy Thicket, Poppyburst looked around for Berrypaw´s familiar brown pelt, the herbs clamped tight between her jaws.

Spotting the young medicine cat, the small-framed tortoiseshell bounded over to Berrypaw. The warrior set the herbs down at her Clanmate´s paws. ´´I know that I wasn´t put on a patrol, but I thought you could use the help - especially after Mistyshard´s resignation.´´

Poppyburst didn´t like the idea of Mistyshard resigning, especially since she had left behind a mostly untrained and inexperienced apprentice. Green eyes narrowing, the RiverClanner touched her nose to the tip of Berrypaw´s ear. ´´You´ll make a wonderful medicine cat, Berrypaw, and I´m sure that whoever your next mentor is will train you well.´´

Caught as soon as she returned to camp. Redmire bit her tongue to keep from snapping as Sedgeflake stepped up beside her. Her walk had done nothing but succeed in hurting her claws. "Yes. What do you want?"

╰┈➤ ❝ Poppyburst had noticed Redmire´s behavior for the last few days, and it had made the tortoiseshell rather uneasy. Uneasy to the point that she felt she had to take this to the RiverClan Leader. The RiverClanner would have gone to Dusklion, but Poppyburst didn´t feel comfortable around the Deputy just yet.

´´Fadingstar?´´ Poppyburst mewed, her paws carrying her over to the corner where her leader had made his den. ´´I´d like to speak with you. I have some worries about a Clanmate that I´d like to talk to you about.´´ ❞

"A talk." It was quiet, uncertain. He knew she was crabby after the meeting, well he knew she would be - of course he should have anticipated it. "Well.. yeah, more of your thoughts on something!"

Sedgeflake swept his tail across the den floor as he took a seat away from their Clan-mates. It wasn't that they were secluded - to a passing eye it just looked like they were out of the way of traffic and rambunctious kits. "You ever think it's weird, how many cats go missing 'round here?"

The two trouble-making siblings didn't get too far before Brokenstream foiled their plans, just as Songkit expected. Of course the two kits wouldn't make it far, but she wanted to see how far her brother would take this. It surprised Songkit to see Shallowkit make it as far as he did! Maybe he wasn't such a wimp after all, she thought. Shallowkit was visibly relieved when the Lionheart stopped them, and although she wouldn't admit it, Songkit was too. If Shallowkit had actually snuck out, Songkit's pride would leave her no choice but to follow him. Luckily that didn't happen.

With her tail held high, Songkit followed eagerly behind Brokenstream. "Ooh, crouches! Teach us crouches!"she mewed excitedly, grinning at Shallowkit.

Redmire blinked narrowed eyes at him. If his words during the meeting were anything to go by, it probably wasn't something that was going to aggravate her further. She followed him over to the separate spot and remained standing.

"...Yes. I do." It was strange, really. Missing cats were nothing out of the norm... but there seemed to have been a recent influx. "Care to elaborate?"

Wow, the floorboards were really interesting weren't they. Sedgeflake tested his claws lightly against the crack in between them, tracing the divot. "Just was thinking how strange it was, you know... how cats can just disappear. A lot without a trace. How many cats have walked with us, that we don't really remember?"

He glanced up at her. It wasn't that she was taller than him; it was just the position of where he was looking paired with her also standing. "It's silly, if not for Seabreeze talking about bias I might not have even thought of it - we're just minnows in an ocean, easily lost to the waves. If a cat were to want to cut us down and make us vanish, would it even be noticed?"
