Spider.
Following the whim of an adventuresome spirit that morning, Ceri bounds down a hill without regard for anything but living freely. The air pumping through his lungs burned fiercely, but
stars was it good! Every deep heaving breath raked its fiery claws through the calico's throat and chest, gutting him over and over again. His limbs
screamed, utterly repulsed by the forced exercise he'd been putting himself through since sunrise. But Ceri's
eyes, oh his eyes were like blazing stars of molten gold! And his maw split wide in a grin that was augmented by the heavy panting he was doing. To fly through the world like he was born with wings on his back! To be free! To...!
A boulder- No, a rock- But truly, a
pebble of all things... A pebble it is, the villain to bring this cat's soul-searing sprint to an end.
The scene unfolds before Ceri as though the world were suddenly caught a time-warping slow down. Pebble kiss toe. Toe crunch down. Claw catch bean. Bean go
ow! Leg fold at elbow. Chin hit ground. Shoulder wrench. Back shoot up. Hind-quarters-over-head. Rogue flip over. Skid to stop. Scene One End.
Ceri lets out a loud groan as he lies there quite still for the first time in ages. Screwing his eyes shut, the tom lets the woes of life wash over him. Pain... His entire leg was in pain! And his poor, beautiful chin! Oh no, he was probably hideously filthy now! Scrabbling his three useful legs in the air, the cat begins to move to flip himself right-side-up, pushing to a standing stance and staring at the ground for a heartbeat. Well, well, well...
Snapping his head up, he looks around and scowls. Where the living Hell was he? Tail sweeping side to side, the calico begins to limp off in some direction, barely noting the scent of foul, sun-baked fish and swampy air that washes over him.
