Duskleaf was woken up by the rays of sunlight coming through the window of the old abandoned twoleg den. Maybe the window ledge wasn’t the best place for a good sleep. Looking at the sun briefly, he figured it was probably time to get up anyway. He went for a walk around the twoleg den, knowing he had something important to do, but not exactly what.

Oh! That was it! He rushed out the front door of the den and sure enough, found Primrosepaw waiting. Duskleaf slowed down a bit as he got closer, coming to a stop a tail length or so from Primrosepaw.

"So uh…what kind of training is it you're after?" He asked.

Primrosepaw’s emerald eyes lit up as she spotted Duskleaf approaching, her small frame brimming with anticipation. She flicked her tail with excitement, her dark-cream-and-white fur ruffling slightly in the morning breeze.

“Good morning, Duskleaf!” she meowed brightly, her voice a mix of eagerness and respect. “I was hoping we could work on some tracking skills today. I’ve been practicing a bit on my own, but I could really use some guidance to refine my techniques. You’re always so good at finding things—like that time you tracked that squirrel through the rain. I want to be able to do that, too.”

She tilted her head slightly, her eyes shining with earnest determination. “Is that something you’d be willing to help me with?”

[ @Concorde - I dont know what Dusk has done so i just threw something in there. Sorry if the tracking the squirrel thing is inaccurate. ]

Duskleaf smiled at Primrosepaw and dipped his head in response to her greeting, but immediately his expression changed when she asked him to help with…tracking. Stars, how to explain this…

"Uh…so…there's a little bit of a problem with that." Duskleaf began. "I…well, you see…my nose doesn’t really work right anymore." He was trying not to disappoint Primrosepaw, but it was probably best to admit that right now. "I'm sorry about that, is there anything else I can help you with?"

@paedyn [Sorry I didn’t mention this beforehand — Duskleaf lost his sense of smell permanently! I should’ve mentioned that earlier]

Primrosepaw’s expression shifted from hopeful to understanding as Duskleaf explained his situation. She gave him a reassuring smile, appreciating his honesty.

“Oh, I see,” she said gently. “Thank you for letting me know, Duskleaf. I understand that tracking might not be the best option right now.”

She considered for a moment, thinking of another way he might be able to assist. “Is there anything else you’re comfortable with or any other skills you have that you might be able to help with? Maybe something involving patrols or helping with training? I’m sure there’s something valuable you can contribute.”

Primrosepaw’s tone was warm and encouraging, making sure Duskleaf knew that his presence and help were still appreciated. “We can find something that works for both of us. Your experience and knowledge are still very valuable to the Clan.”
