All Larkwing wants to do is get out of here. Her border's been marked, she's done more than would usually be necessary, all that's left to do was go home, if they could even find a place to hold that title again.
After thoroughly covering the tree she was marking in her scent, she moved onto the next one. And then the next one. Occasionally she would slice her claws across a tree with a patch of exposed wood; another reminder to ThunderClan that they were back and ready to defend their home if necessary. It took her longer than it normally would- usually she wasn't trying to make a point of drenching the border in RiverClan's scent- but eventually she was done. Between the three of them, their clan's fishy smell had overpowered ThunderClan's reek. Good.
With Lotuspaw finally in tow, Mountaintalon followed the others out.
"...Smells like RiverClan," he growled as they approached. "Looks like they're back. Lotuspaw, with me." As much as he'd like to get his claws bloody today, he wasn't interested in putting his apprentice on the line for it.
"I don't know what your previous mentor taught you, but in case you haven't been out hunting yet, watch." Once he was a good ways away from the others, Mountaintalon dropped into a balanced crouch. "Keep your weight spread even, don't stick your feet out like a deer that's broken all its legs. Then push all that weight into your haunches and use it to propel yourself forward."
He did exactly that, and his paws landed him on a large mouse, crushing its spine instantly. He stood up and glanced back at Lotuspaw. "Your turn."

The Lionheart nodded encouragingly to her clanmates before allowing herself a good stretch. That wasn't before something familiar caught her nose. Thunderclan. It wasn't a shocker to see the cats on their side of the border, but it certainly gave her a kick of adrenaline. The bulky she-cat found herself staring at the other group of cats, taking in their features. It had only been two moons yet it felt like she'd been gone for a year, the scent of any rival clans seemed so odd since her nose had gotten used to the weathered scent of mountain rock and moss. She simply blinked at the other cats, cracking a smile at their snarky remarks.
Just as she was about to open her maw and call the patrol back to camp, her amber eyes slid over to strange movement in the river nearby. The Lionheart slowly closed her maw, angling her ears towards the noise. Sleek and wet bodies peeked in and out of the water. They seemed to be playing with something. Otters? Excitement trembled through her paws though she pushed back her smile. Yes, she was very hopeful that she'd be able to kill one just for the fun of it, but right now she couldn't think of that. There was a threat that came with otters, all the clans were aware of that.
Owltalon squared her expression and gave a jittery flick of her tail. "Good job, chaps! All seems ta be in o'der, we're headin' back." And with that last mew of acknowledgement, the brown she-cat stalked away with her patrol mates (hopefully) at her tail.

-When You Grow Up, Your Heat Dies
Call it intuition, or her gut feeling becoming increasingly more persistent - but Dusklion didn't trust her Clanmates to not cause issues. So once night time fell on their territory the deputy set out to trek through, keeping her senses alert. She was actually feeling alright for once, the nausea and headaches from her brief illness at bay. That didn't stop the ache in her heart though as she trekked through their home, catching faint traces of the other Clans. She didn't know why part of her had hoped that they would respect their territory and leave it alone, especially when Twilightstar had told her that wouldn't be the case. It felt ruined now in a way; tainted. It hurt her to have to let it go, the land she had been trained on, but it would hurt her even worse if any of her Clanmates got hurt because the other three knew the ins and outs of their territory and attacked them on it.
Approaching a border she hadn't seen in moons, the first thing she did was stop dead in her tracks. RiverClan scent was overwhelming here, what with the border having been heavily marked. While part of the deputy could see the point of it, another part of her wanted to shred the cats who had done this. Dusklion could see the point in marking the border strongly, but this felt... "I never thought I'd miss the mountains..." she chuckled under her breath, rolling her shoulders back as she realized that now that they were back, she'd have to keep a tighter eye on her Clanmates, and try to curb those who obviously still sought out revenge.
Trekking along the pathway the deputy headed back over to a certain spot along the way that she had wanted to check out the second they got home - stupid sickness. The splashing of the water had her frowning before she saw the source; otters. They were still there. And while they didn't necessarily pose a threat if they kept to themselves, RiverClan wouldn't be able to swim in the rivers here if they moved, or if stars forbid a cat fell in like that one thunder-rat, they'd likely get torn up.
A smirk traveled along her face as she lifted her head up and gazed into ThunderClan territory, wondering if they were, in fact, the same otters that had been there when she had saved one of the squirrels - Wolf-something? "Leavin' em for us? How thoughtful," she muttered sarcastically with a shake of her head. After another glance towards the otters the deputy turned and headed back into RiverClan territory.
Lotuspaw blinked and opened her jaws slightly to taste the air, knowing that Mountaintalon would want her to do so. At once, the young she-cat caught the scent of squirrel and mouse.
´´There´s a squirrel over there,´´ The silver-and-white ThunderClanner gestured to an ancient, twisted oak with a jerk of her muzzle. ´´And a mouse behind those ferns over there.´´
Lotuspaw gestured with her tail tip to the ferns. Deciding to go for the squirrel, Lotuspaw crouched, keeping her weight even. She shifted her hind paws as close to her belly as possible, then began to stalk forward.
Making sure that the wind was still on her side, Lotuspaw´s tail tip twitched in satisfaction as she noticed that the squirrel´s scent was still flowing towards her and not the other way around. The ThunderClanner sprang, landing square on the squirrel.
Lotuspaw killed the squirrel with a swift, clean bite to the back of the neck. She stood up and waved her tail in satisfaction, looking at Mountaintalon.
