The moment the tang of iron hit his nose, he followed close behind Bumblestar as she suddenly changed course. The overwhelming stink of soppy dog gave away what exactly was happening. The yowls, barking and hissing helped as well. Almost instantly the moment course was changed, Spiderthroat simply looked at Mudhound with an unimpressed expression. "We haveta stop takin you places." he hummed.

He rushed into a rather blood splattered battle. How much of it was Clanmates and mutt? He didn't know. No time to think. Wordlessly Spiderthroat simply kept going, Bumblestar yelled instructions, but his paws didn't falter. Had it been an order to save the Apprentice he would have obliged. But it wasn't. It was an order to 'help' whatever warrior was fighting with a coyote. Therefor. An order to kill.

Weaving through any carcasess, boulders or tree roots, Spiderthroat dove to where Darkecho and the coyote were fighting. Claws out, maw open ready to bite. Landing on the coyotes side and skidding, claws ripping into flesh, his bite anchoring him to the coyote as his paws swung from beneath him. It would be unsurprising to him if the Coyote's balance faltered with how he'd flung his whole weight at the dog.

Seamlessly, Spiderthroat swung himself so he was just in front of the dog. Surely he wasn't big enough to win it in a wresling match. But he was beyond angry. An apprentice who would probably die due to blood loss, another in a tree cowering, and two incompitent warriors who are incapable of playing it safe with two pretty new apprentices.

Hulk SMASH used

Angerly the deputy wrapped his arms around the neck of the dog. Jaws firmly biting into the juggular. Malice raced through his blood, almost as if he was gifted extra strength from Asterdance, the calico surged forwards, knocking it off balance. Effectively ripping open a hole the throat and slamming the things head into the ground with a sickening crack. Growls coming from him as he huffed, standing up straight after a long pause.

He was almost positive it was dead, if not it was going to die soon due to either suffocation, drowning in it's own blood, blunt force trauma or all of the above. Either way, it was a dog he was no longer concerned about. It had a hole in it's airway...little hard for anything to get up from that.

That same intense malice now directed towards Darkecho.

"Are you freaking kidding me???"

First the otters, then traps and foxes and badgers and owls! Then a hawk, and now coyotes?? Wolfhive was getting sick of this nonsense!

And none of that compared to the pure anger of this situation, seeing two morons deciding to face off against a coyote pack with apprentices in tow. Apprentices - one who shouldn't be out of camp - and the other his own, who was still being trained. He hadn't had a chance to get her battle training done with all this dung going on and had she not gotten up a tree, she might've never...

Anger fueled his moment. The world was red.

The coyote Darkecho had knocked away was converging, aiming to catch Spiderthroat from behind. Unfortunately for it, Wolfhive had been going for the larger coyote - and with Spiderthroat beating him to it and the second coyote getting in the way, Wolfhive hit it instead. Instantly his claws and teeth were latching into it, ripping away taking a sizable chunk from its neck and throat. It hrrked and gasped and after a moment, collapsed.

If looks could kill, Darkecho would be joining the coyotes. Wolfhive stalked off to patrol the perimeter, insuring there were no more coyotes before he howled. "Alpinepaw, it's safe to come down! What the hell happened?? Did you get hurt?"

Dark’echo

Dark’echo watched as Bumblestar and some other warriors streamed into the clear patch of ground the cats and coyotes wrestled. “Thank starclan your here!” He yowled at The cats, while raking his claws across the side of yet another coyote, while his face was screwed in a snarl at his enemies, his green eyes reflected deep shame and embarrassment. “We would have retreated, but the coyotes had already seen us, and I didn’t want to risk leading them to the camp-“ a coyote reared and landed on him, and he narrowly missed snapping jaws as he rolled from under his attacker, managing to score his claws across the coyotes belly before clearing out the way, making it yelp. “There wasn’t really much time to think about it.” He grunted. He now faced the mangled body of Fleckpaw, his eyes widening in guilt and horror. “NO! Fleckpaw! Is she breathing!?” He already knew that the apprentice was dead, he just vainly wished he was wrong. “This is my fault, Bumblestar. I’m so sorry.” But apologies could be made later. Right now they needed to get out of this mess. He didn’t hurl himself at another coyote just yet, waiting for his leader’s command. He had made mistakes enough already. He held the hostile furious gazes of the other cats with dignity but it was obvious he knew this was his fault by the guilt flashing bright in his eyes. They had taken down most of the rest of the coyotes, any other still standing had deep wounds, and before they could finish them off they had already scrambled away through the bushes, whimpering and howling. Well they won’t be back any time soon, he thought grimly. He was ready to face any punishment he deserved. He just hoped that Bumblestar was merciful towards Appleleap, more if he would survive to get a punishment at all.

Alpinepaw hissed loudly in extreme fear, and her tail became fluffy. She arched her back and her pupils were dilated. Alpinepaw looked at the scene. Alpinepaw's body was violently shaking. She could fall off at any moment. Unfortunately, she fell off the tree and landed on her right side, fainting soon after. Before she fainted, she said fearfully, "Bumblestar, p-p-p-please...don't punish them..."

Appleleap

A growl rumbled in Appleleap's chest as he kept eye contact with the coyote, lips curling to reveal teeth stained with the coyote pup's blood. His muscles tensed, and then he was running at it, sinking his claws into its shoulder as he tried to find its jugular. But the coyote's jaws clamped down on his ear, and Appleleap was left muttering a string of curse words in his head. He had two options now; pull back and lose a significant chunk of his ear, or try to fight without moving it. He doubted the second option would work, but he would try. Maybe the coyote would release it.

He sank his claws deeper into the coyote's shoulder, but the creature twisted suddenly, and Appleleap stumbled backwards, claws ripping through his opponent's shoulder on the way. But he also heard the rip of an ear tearing, and excruciating pain in it. Blood flowed down the side of his face, sticky and wet.

The coyote came at him. Appleleap side-stepped before swiping a paw at its uninjured flank. But the wound was shallow, and the coyote just span around and sank its teeth into his already injured shoulder, and hurled him away. Appleleap crashed onto the ground; pain flared in his shoulder all over again, worse than before. "Fox-dung, fox-dung, fox-dung," he swore. He was screwed.

But then there was a cat there, tearing into its pelt. Mudhound. The coyote was still coming towards him, but it was slowed, at least. Appleleap stood up shakily, teeth gritted against the pain that flared up in his shoulder. He stood his ground as the beast came closer; he knew running was pointless. He had given the coyote a shoulder injury too, but it wasn't as bad as his. It would catch up to him quickly. Fighting was the only option.

And fight he did. As the coyote came towards him, Appleleap sank his teeth deep into its foreleg. It let out a whimper of pain, but it didn't give up, shaking the leg to try to dislodge him. He held on, determination fuelling him as the metalic taste of blood filled his mouth. Between him and Mudhound, they should be able to take the coyote down, even if it was in a murderous frenzy.

Jaws sank into his scruff and pulled him off. He landed hard; for a heartbeat he laid there, winded. But a moment was all the coyote needed. Even as Mudhound sank their teeth into its neck, it came towards him, jaws clamping around his throat.

Panic engulfed Appleleap as he bucked in a futile attempt to escape the creature's jaws. He didn't want to die. Not now, not when he had so much more life to live. Not when the coyote was almost dead. If it just died before it could bite down-

But no such luck. The coyote bit down before releasing, and Appleleap's body dropped to the ground, hazel eyes staring blankly at its killer who would soon share the same fate.

Dark’echo thought too soon. Appleleap was dead, Fleckpaw was dead, Alpinepaw probably injured from her fall from the tree. It was his fault. But what could I have done instead, starclan!? Your supposed to be watching us.. but you let Appleleap and Fleckpaw die!! he cried to the spirits silently. As his adrenaline slowed, he felt his fur feel on fire. He had a long, deep gash down his flank, thick cuts in his belly, a missing ear from which blood streamed into his eyes, and an oozing bite mark in the back of his neck. But Dark’echo was made of strong stuff, emotionally and physically. He was still standing in spite of all of this, somehow. But his world was slowing, things growing dark. The outlines of the bristling cats were becoming hazy, and Dark’echo dropped to his haunches, defeated, his nose buried in his paws. He had to shut it all out. STOP! GET UP! a voice inside him urged. Some spirit calling out to him, maybe - not necessarily a good one. Things had to be done. He couldn’t give up yet.

Bumblestar raised her head just in time to watch her patrolmates dispatch the rest of the coyotes, though not before Appleleap was taken down next. She swore and started forward, but it was too late, and the warrior fell beneath his attacker seconds before the beast did as well.

An apprentice and a warrior both dead, due to nothing other than pitiful incompetence. Panting, Bumblestar turned to see Darkecho sniveling on the ground, his face covered by his paws, and a sneer curled at her lip. Pathetic. With a snarl, she shoved at his shoulder, not bothering to put. away her claws.

“Get the hell up,” she spat, blood dripping from her jaws. “You are exiled from my Clan for a moon, for causing the death of not just one of your Clanmates, but two, because you apparently lack the common sense needed to consider who you're taking out of camp, the circumstances we're under, and when to run instead of putting your Clanmates in danger. Climb a tree for StarClan's sake, wait ‘till they're gone, then go notify someone!” How hard was it for her warriors to use their damn heads? “I don't wanna see or smell you within my borders until that moon has passed - I'll kill you if I do. I'll do the same if you try to come crawling back without even a sliver of remorse." He could suffer in the Outskirts with what injuries he had, a reminder of what he'd allowed to befall his Clanmates. "Get going!”

He should be grateful she wasn't killing him now for this.

[ Darkecho has been exiled for ONE MONTH and may attempt a rejoining come September 14th. If he is posted in ThunderClan's camp, territory, or border threads in any capacity during this time, he is subject to be killed on sight. His attempted rejoining must be successful for him to be allowed to return to ThunderClan.
