Beetlepaw let’s put a shocked yowl as the other apprentice speeds away. With one big push, Beetlepaw dashed after her, digging up the ground below her. Maybe if I’m fast enough I can climb onto a tree and land on her! she thought. Rapidly, she climbed up the nearest tree and stepped onto the steadiest branch. She lunged off, Fleckpaw never leaving her sight.

[Fleckpaw rolls a 17]

Fleckpaw notices Beetlepaw climb the tree. She was a very fast climber, however, Fleckpaw also had a plan. At first, Fleckpaw keeps running, waiting for the perfect moment, pretending nothing is out of the ordinary; but when Beetlpaw lunges at her, she is ready. Fleckpaw suddenly swerves to the right and completely avoids Beetlepaw, leaving her to land on the ground instead.

"Good try," She meows breathlessly, "But it'll take more than that to beat me!" The tree was only a few steps away now. Fleckpaw drags her heavy body towards the tree and collapses on top of the trunk. "I..." she wheezes, "win!" She glances behind her to look for Beetlepaw.

(She thinks she wins, anyway. Who knows where Beetlepaw is. Lol)

Fleckpaw is quiet for a few moments, only panting and resting in the big tree's shade. She actually was starting to feel a little sorry for bringing Beetlepaw to this spot- the sun was a lot harsher than she expected. Her own pelt was almost uncomfortably hot and she felt a little dizzy.

But they had already come so far. Fleckpaw cleans her pelt down with her tongue, and giggles. She uses her hind leg to slowly poke Beetlepaw in the rump. "It's hotter than I expected. But at least it's a lot cooler here in the shade." She meows, looking on the positive side of things. "The sun is so pretty, isn't it?"

Beetlepaw rolled her eyes, but smiled. “If you think being in a lot of pain while my pelt is burning off then sure.” She slowly got up, refusing to put her left paw to the ground. Beetlepaw felt like she had a raging headache, and she felt very dizzy. “How about we find a puddle, for a drink?” She suggested.

True. Fleckpaw nods sheepishly, she felt the same. The sun was pretty, but it was also near burning them both.

"Great idea!" Fleckpaw meows. She raises her head with some effort and glances around, searching for the sound of rushing water, or any fishy scents. Even a small puddle would do. "You know any water sources nearby?" She asks.

Beetlepaw shook her head. “The trees look healthy, and the grass isn’t dying, so there must be some water somewhere.” She pointed out. She limped over to a shaded area, hoping to find anything. I feel like I’m about to throw up, we need to find some soon! she thought desperately.

That was also a very good point. "I hope you're right, and all the puddles haven't dried up," Fleckpaw meows with worry. "Maybe if we poke around the shade, we'll have more luck!"

And oh, just look at that, they were currently in the shade of the biggest willow in Willow's Rise. As Beetlepaw said, there had to be something. Fleckpaw pads away from her friend, heading towards the right, wincing at the pain in her pelt and paws. She pokes her nose through the brambles and overturns the leaves and ivy, searching for any puddles. "Not much luck here," she calls out disappointedly "Any on your end?"

Beetlepaw looked up in the sky, and panic flared up in her. It’s sunrise! I need to be back in camp! “Maybe we should just go back to camp? I have… important things to do..” she muttered And truthfully, I shouldn’t even be out of camp. she added silently. “But we can still hang out at camp, right?” She mewed hopefully.

(Sorry I actually forgot Beetlepaw shouldn’t be out of camp because of a fight… but Beetlepaw never follows rules so..)

"Sure!" Fleckpaw says, nodding. "And there'll be plenty of water and and shade. No more harsh sun! But what important things? Can I help?"

Fleckpaw still doesn't know about Vinekit's demotion, or Beetlepaw being confined to camp, so she wonders what Beetlepaw means by 'important things to do at camp.' If it really was something difficult to do and very important, maybe she could help!

(No problem, and Fleckpaw's not a tattletale. At least, not on purpose...)

Beetlepaw started to limp in the direction of the camp. “Well, you could help me by cleaning out the apprentice’s den or the elder’s den?” She sighed , feeling more dizzy than ever. “Just.. wait a second..” Beetlepaw sat down for a moment, but that didn’t seem to help. She shook her head, determined to not get caught out of camp.
